  • Foam supply range, m - 10
  • Weight, kg - 40

Designed to produce a jet of air-mechanical foam from an aqueous solution of foaming agent PO-1 for the purpose of extinguishing fires of flammable and combustible liquids and fires in hard-to-reach areas.

The generator consists of a housing with a guide device, a sprayer, a mesh package and a pressure connection head.

Air-mechanical foam is obtained by mixing three components in a generator in a certain proportion: water, foaming agent and air. Foam is formed from an aqueous solution of a foaming agent by feeding it onto a package of meshes (mesh size 0.8 mm) of the foam generator in the form of a sprayed jet.

A top type nozzle is used as a sprayer. The sprayer has 6 windows located at an angle of 12 degrees, which ensures swirling of the flow of the aqueous solution of the foaming agent and creates conditions for obtaining a sprayed jet at the outlet with a given spray angle.

The design of the generator grid ensures at least 20 hours of operation at a pressure of 0.6 MPa before spraying. The mesh has cells of 0.8-1 mm, which are made of high-alloy wire with a diameter of 0.3 to 0.4 mm.

When the generator operates at a water pressure of 0.6 MPa, the area of the outer mesh at the outlet of the diffuser must be completely filled with foam.

Generator castings are made of aluminum alloys grades AL9 or AK7 (AL9V).

One of the main conditions for the normal operation of a foam generator is to ensure the required dosage of foaming agent, which is achieved by installing a dosing tap of the foam mixer.

The service life of generators before decommissioning is at least 8 years.

Warranty period - 24 months from the date of commissioning of the generator

The medium expansion foam generator GPSS-600 is designed to produce medium expansion air-mechanical foam from an aqueous solution of a foaming agent for the purpose of extinguishing fires of flammable liquids technological equipment fire hazardous objects.
The generator is manufactured in climatic version U for placement category 1 GOST15150-69.

  • Foam capacity, l/s - 600
  • Foam ratio, no less than 70-100
  • Consumption of 4...6% foam solution. l/s - 5.0-6.0
  • Foam supply range, m - 10
  • Solution pressure in front of the sprayer, MPa - 0.4-0.6
  • Overall dimensions, mm - 610x570x570
  • Weight, kg - 40

The inlet of the GPSS foam generator is located on flange 3. The solution pipeline of the stationary fire extinguishing system 6 is connected to it.

The equipment is mounted on a tank with petroleum products using a mounting flange 2. The flange has an outlet hole closed by a cover 9, which is mounted on a hinge 10.

In front of the sprayer 8 there is a damper 11, which is one of the arms of a two-arm lever installed in the body of the foam generator 1 on a hinge 12. The other end of this lever is connected by a hinge 13 to a fork 14.

In addition, the two-arm lever of the foam generator is connected by a rope 15 to a handle 16 manual drive. With its free end, the fork 14 is installed on the stop 17, secured in the foam generator body 1 with a bolt 18.

Rod 19 is connected at its ends to the cover of the foam generator 9 and 20.

The cover 9 is pulled to the edge of the outlet hole of the foam generator by a rod 19 due to the force created by the rotation of the nut 21 along the thread of the stud 20. In this case, the nut 21 with its end surface rests against the fork 14.

The position of the nut 21, corresponding to the required sealing force of the joint of the cover 9 and the edge of the foam generator outlet, is fixed on the stud 20 with a lock nut 22. A limiter 23 of the opening angle of the cover 9 is attached to the stud 20 and the rod 19. The second end of the limiter 23 is bolted to the upper part of the body.

To protect the lever system GPSS foam generator During transportation, the fork 14 is secured with wire 24.

GPSS medium expansion stationary foam generators are intended for use in stationary installations foam fire extinguishing vertical steel tanks with flammable and flammable liquids.

In accordance with PB03-605-03p.8.4. stationary GPSS foam generators are included in mandatory systems automatic fire extinguishing tanks for oil and petroleum products. Installed on tanks RVS with a volume of 5000 m 3 or more.

The operation of GPSS generators is based on the production of air-mechanical foam from a foam concentrate to extinguish fires. Foam covers the surface of the product in the tank, blocking the access of oxygen and stopping the combustion process.

The device is a water-jet ejector apparatus. The foaming agent is supplied under pressure to the sprayer, where it is mixed with air. When this mixture passes through the mesh holes, foam is formed at the outlet, which enters the gas-air space of the tank.

GPSS foam generators are produced in climatic versions U and UHL of placement category I, in an atmosphere of type P GOST 15150.

Options for manufacturing stationary GPSS foam generators

  • GPSS-600 - stationary medium-expansion foam generator with a capacity of 600 l/s;
  • GPSS-2000 is a stationary medium-expansion foam generator with a capacity of 2000 l/s.

The models are identical in design and operating principle, with the exception of differences in the size of the atomizer and body. Models GPSS-600A and GPSS-2000A are supplied with a guide casing that prevents the weakening of the foam concentrate pressure.
