Bookmarks for books with elastic bands are a very convenient option, because nothing will peek out both inside and outside the book and, accordingly, will not get wrinkled.

And if you sew a small pocket to the elastic band, you will get a kind of pocket in which you can store pens or pencils, or stickers to mark important moments. This bookmark is suitable for textbooks or notes.

Corner bookmarks attract book lovers because, firstly, they are very easy to make, and secondly, such bookmarks can be very different: with eyes, teeth, overhead elements, or with interesting phrases. You will especially like such bookmarks for books.

Knitted or crocheted bookmarks will immediately show that this book belongs to a real needlewoman. Such a bookmark can be an excellent gift, because knitted sweaters and scarves are so banal.

Even regular paper clips can be turned into bookmarks. Attach a yarn tassel or a cut-out cardboard figure to the top of each paperclip - and voila! - your bookmark is ready.

Bookmarks for books are also possible. The easiest way is to paint the stick with paints. A more complicated option is to glue a figurine or attach a letter on a thread. The choice is yours!

A paper bookmark in the shape of a feather and a favorite quote or inspiring phrase - what could inspire even more to new feats and conquering new heights?

Yarn tassels are suitable not only for, but also for original bookmarks. All you need is cardboard and some yarn. Make a bookmark of the required shape from cardboard, and turn the yarn into a beautiful tassel.

Or simply braid the threads and tie them on the cardboard, so the flat cardboard part of the bookmark will be inside the book, and the tassel will hang down and point to the place where you stopped reading.

If you have beads lying around from a broken bracelet or pendant, use them to bookmark your favorite book. String the beads onto a thick thread or leather cord according to the principle.

Greetings! I suggest making bookmarks for books from origami paper. Done in 3, no, even 2 minutes. I think you yourself know about the benefits of this craft. This is a really handy bookmark. And if it is made bright and colorful, perhaps it will help mothers attract the child’s attention to books, especially if it is made in the shape of a favorite character.

Or maybe you want to surprise your friends at school with your bright bookmarks and golden hands.

Since Valentine's Day is approaching, I will tell you in detail in the master class how to make a bookmark in the shape of a heart, not even just a heart, but a sweet and heartfelt ladybug. But the principle of folding such bookmarks is the same, having made one, you can now make any: in the shape of a triangle, a smiley face or a kitten, if you attach ears. Several ideas in the photo (click to enlarge)

I have prepared a master class with step-by-step photographs, even in video format, in case it will be convenient for you to listen rather than read. I hope you will appreciate my work and like it or share the idea on social networks (there are buttons at the end of the article).

Bookmark in the shape of a ladybug - step by step tutorial

When it comes to ladybugs, childhood memories immediately come to mind when a small beautiful insect sits on a child’s finger, and he says: “Ladybug, fly to the sky...”. Do you remember?

If you get a little creative, your child can turn his favorite insect into a valentine heart. This creates not just a heart, but a bookmark. Having made several of these souvenirs, a child can give them to his friends on February 14th. You can learn about the process of making such a valentine in our master class.

Step by step photo

Before work, let's prepare:

  • square of red paper measuring 16x16 cm;
  • small pieces of paper in white, orange and pink;
  • glue stick;
  • scissors;
  • figured hole punch (heart);
  • black felt-tip pen;
  • pink pencil.

First we must make a blank from red paper. This will be the basis for the future bookmark. To do this, the square needs to be bent diagonally.

We bend the right corner of the resulting triangle upward.

The left corner needs to be folded symmetrically.

Now we straighten the folds we just made.

Fold the top corner of one layer down. So we began to form a kind of pocket for the future bookmark.

After this, we bend the right corner up again.

Then we tuck it inside the pocket.

We do the same with the left corner.

Now the resulting workpiece needs to be shaped into a heart. To do this, use scissors and round off the top part.

On the reverse side, our future Valentine bookmark looks like this.

You can start decorating it. Let's start with the ladybug's face. To do this, draw a heart on the corner of the white paper with a black felt-tip pen.

Let's cut it out, then draw eyes, a mouth and pink cheeks on the face.

Glue the white heart onto the red blank.

Draw a line in the middle with a black felt-tip pen.

Let's draw antennae for the ladybug.

Let's use a figured hole punch. With its help we will make several pink and orange hearts. We will glue them onto a future bookmark.

Use a black felt-tip pen to outline the outlines of small hearts. Our Valentine bookmark in the shape of a ladybug is ready.

All that remains is to use it for its intended purpose.

Gadgets and electronic media are slowly replacing printed books, but reading them is still a favorite hobby for many, and for some a good way to “kill” time in transport, in line, or at a boring job. When you close a book, you often forget where you left off, so bookmarks come to the rescue. You can make them yourself.

Origami corner

Materials:

  • colored paper (mostly double-sided);
  • single-color paper (white and black);
  • simple pencil, scissors, glue, ruler;
  • red ribbon (width 0.6 centimeters, length – 10 centimeters);
  • lighter.

On colored paper, draw a square 16 centimeters by 16 centimeters and cut it out.

The size of the square can be made larger or smaller.

For the inside of the bookmark you will need a black square, which will be ¼ of the outer square. For a more convenient calculation, we recommend cutting out a square of black paper 16 centimeters by 16 centimeters, and then cutting it into 4 equal parts.

We cut out a rectangle measuring 8 centimeters by 3 centimeters from white paper, and cut out teeth (sharp or wavy) in the middle.

To make eyes for “Monsters,” you can take any color of paper, trace a ruble coin, then cut it out.

We make pupils of any color and assemble the eyes.

  1. Take a square sheet of colored paper of any color.
  2. We fold it diagonally, then along the long edge - in half.
  3. We turn the left and right sides in turn, first forward, then perpendicularly down.
  4. The left side of these corners must be turned up to the middle.
  5. Using the same principle, you need to bend the top flap of the sheet.
  6. The top flap must be bent inward.
  7. Then we bend both sides of the folded corners.
  8. All parts are tucked in and should form a compact diamond with a pocket.
  9. We carefully go through all the folds with a ruler so that they are clear.
  10. Inside this blank we place the black previously prepared square.
  11. Glue the square into the pocket.
  12. Glue the teeth to the top of the yellow blank.
  13. Glue the eyes to the top of the yellow sheet.
  14. We take a red ribbon, make a forked tongue at one end and glue it to the “Monster”.
  15. We scorch the ribbon over the fire so that it does not lint during further use.

From leaves

Materials:

  • pre-dried leaves (autumn or green, they should not be too brittle or old);
  • double sided tape;
  • transparent plastic.

You need to cut two identical strips out of plastic, sticking tape on each.

Then we place and glue the leaves onto the tape. We place a second strip on top of the leaves.

The protruding edges of the leaves must be trimmed.

The perimeter of the bookmark can be sewn with threads so that it does not delaminate.

From paper clips

Materials

  • paper clips;
  • glue gun;
  • any decorative elements (feathers, buttons, beads, rhinestones, etc.).

Manufacturing depends on the flight of your imagination: simply secure the decorative elements with a glue gun on a paper clip. Let the glue dry and you are ready to use the bookmark.

Spider

You will need:

  • crochet hook (preferably from number 2 to 3.5);
  • threads of any color.

We weave a web:

  1. You need to cast on 5 air loops. Then you need to form a ring; to do this, we knit a connecting post into the first loop.
  2. Row No. 1: make three lifting chain stitches to form a new row. We knit 15 double crochets around the ring, then a connecting stitch into the very top lifting loop. He will be the sixteenth.
  3. Row No. 2: cast on three air loops, then you need to knit 1 double crochet in the same loop, then 2 air loops, and skip the next one. We knit 2 double crochets, 2 chain stitches and skip one again. By repeating this pattern, we complete the row. At the end of this row, we knit a connecting stitch into the upper air lifting loop. As a result, we have 16 double crochets and 8 arches of two air loops.
  4. Row No. 3: we make 4 chain stitches, in the next double crochet we knit a new double crochet, then 3 chain stitches, we knit a double crochet in the next stitch. We do the same until the end of the row.
  5. We complete the row with three chain stitches and knit a connecting stitch into the top chain stitch. As a result, we have 16 double crochets, 3 arches from three air loops and 8 arches from one air loop.

We weave a cord from the web:

The lace from the web to the spider is knitted with air loops, approximately 53 pieces.

Making a spider:

  1. We knit a half double crochet into the second chain (from the hook) (chain loops of the lace).
  2. In the next 5 loops we knit a half double crochet. So we got 6 half-columns.
  3. First leg: turn the work over, knit 9 chain stitches, then knit a connecting stitch into the second chain loop from the hook, and also knit connecting stitches into the remaining seven. There should be 8 connecting posts
  4. Second foot: we knit a connecting stitch into the first half-stitch, then 9 chain stitches, then a connecting stitch into the second chain stitch from the hook, we knit connecting stitches into the next 7 loops. As a result, we have 8 connecting posts.
  5. Third leg: we knit a connecting stitch into the next half-stitch, then we will need to knit 9 chain stitches. In the second loop from the hook we knit a connecting stitch, then 7 connecting stitches, there should be 8 of them.
  6. Fourth leg: we start from the connecting column to the next half-column. We continue to work with nine chain loops, then knit a connecting stitch into the second chain loop from the hook and 7 chain loops into the next loops. This resulted in 8 connecting posts. In the same loop from which we started knitting the 4th foot, we knit a connecting post.

We knit the spider's head:

Make a single crochet in the next 3 half-dcs. Next, we knit 3 single crochets from one loop. Then we knit a single crochet into the first 5 half-stitches on the other side.

We make paws:

First you need to turn the knitting over and do the remaining 4 legs in the same way as the 4 described above.

At the end of the work, you need to hide the ends. If you wish, you need to sew or glue eyes on the spider. To get a stable shape, you need to place it under a press for a while.

From paper scrapbook

You will need:

  • kraft paper (density of at least 270 grams per 270 square meters);
  • scrapbook paper (1 sheet);
  • various decorations;
  • yarn for tassel;
  • 1 eyelet;
  • curly scissors.

To begin, cut out a rectangle measuring 6 centimeters by 17 centimeters from craft paper; this will be the basis for the bookmark. Cut out a strip of 5 centimeters by 16 centimeters from scrapbooking paper. We place a smaller rectangle on the base; it can be secured with glue or stitched on a typewriter. Then, using glue and decorations, we create a composition.

Making a brush:

  1. We cut small pieces of yarn (the more of them, the fluffier our tassel will be).
  2. The threads must be folded evenly, then folded in half.
  3. We thread a thread through the resulting hole in the middle. You need to tie the bun with another thread and tie a knot.
  4. Another strong knot needs to be tied on the threaded thread.
  5. If the ends of the brush are uneven, they can be trimmed with scissors.
  6. Using a hole punch, we make a hole at the top of the bookmark, insert a grommet there and attach our tassel.

Snake

We will need:

  • any yarn (at least three colors);
  • crochet hook (from 1.5 to 2 millimeters).

Progress:

  1. For the snake's tail you need to cast on 50 air loops. We will start each row with 8-10 single crochets. We knit the rest with a double crochet.
  2. For the second row, take yarn of a different color and knit it with a single crochet, and knit the third row with a third color with a double crochet.
  3. For the fourth row, take the same color of yarn as the first and knit it in the same way.

Making the muzzle:

  1. For it you will need two colors of yarn of the same color scheme, but different shades. The lower part will be lighter, the upper part will be darker. You need to cast on 8 air loops (from light yarn) and knit a row with a double crochet. The same chain must be tied from below.
  2. At the “turns” of our oval, 2 stitches should be knitted from one. We knit half of the oval, increasing the lower part.
  3. From dark yarn we knit 4 rows with a double crochet, increasing the upper part.
  4. We embroider hair, smile, eyes and tongue with threads.
  5. We make eyes from a blister of tablets or plastic (cardboard).
  6. The upper body must be sewn with thread to create a thin neck.
  7. Sew on the head and the snake is ready.

Flower

We will need:

  • yarn (2 shades of green, white, blue);
  • Crochet hook.

Progress:

  1. Take the blue yarn and cast on 5 air loops, connecting them into a ring.
  2. We knit the ring with ten single crochets using white thread.
  3. Then we knit everything with a single crochet using white yarn. After that, from every second column you need to knit 2 single crochets.
  4. To make petals you need to cast on 8 air loops.
  5. From the cast-on loops we knit double crochets, and then 3 single crochets.
  6. We knit the remaining petals in a similar way (their number will depend on the single crochets in the previous row).
  7. All petals along the edge must be tied in a single crochet with matching threads. And the next row is in a different color.
  8. For the sepals, on the back side of the flower, in a circle of petals, we knit 12 single crochets with green yarn.
  9. We knit each subsequent row by skipping 4-5 stitches until there is only one left.
  10. We do not cut the thread, but collect from it the required number of air loops for the stem (the length of the bookmark should be approximately 20-25 centimeters). Then we tie the stem with a single crochet, leaving a few loops in front of the flower itself. Cut the thread.
  11. We knit a leaf of any shape and size, do not break the thread, but tie it with a single crochet along the stem from the place where we stopped and to the sepal. Then we break the thread and hide the tip in the sepal.
  12. If desired, you can tie the stem with dark green threads and make veins.

Paper corner bookmark: master class on making books

The corner bookmark is one of the most convenient and original.

It’s not difficult to create a beautiful craft, you will need:

  • White paper;
  • colored paper (two different colors);
  • glue stick);
  • simple pencil;
  • scissors.

The corner bookmark is one of the most convenient and original

Stages of work:

  1. On the corner of a white sheet you will need to draw 3 identical squares - 2 below and 1 above the other;
  2. In the lower and upper right corners you need to draw a line to divide them in half (diagonally);
  3. Shade the resulting halves (1 in each of the 2 separated squares);
  4. Cut out the blank, cutting off the shaded corners and the empty space between the squares - you should get a muzzle with ears;
  5. Place the resulting stencil on colored paper, trace it, cut it out - you get the base;
  6. Cut out a piece of colored paper of a different color that fits the shape of the muzzle, and stick it on the workpiece;
  7. The workpiece should be folded in half and straightened.

The bookmark is ready - now you can start decorating. Here you can use various paper elements and glitter. Based on such a bookmark, cool monsters are obtained, since the triangle is a muzzle, and the corner base attached to the book can be decorated with teeth cut out of paper. The corners can also be decorated with various small stickers.

The resulting craft can be used for books, thick notebooks, and textbooks.

Beautiful pencil bookmark made of colored paper

Textbooks, notebooks, diaries - all this needs bookmarks. Simple options look boring and casual, so you need to create a bookmark that looks fun. A craft in the form of a pencil is ideal. In order to make it, you only need a sheet of colored paper.

Stages of work:

  1. Fold a sheet of colored paper horizontally in half (colored side up);
  2. Unbend the sheet and bend the smaller side slightly inward (1 cm), then straighten it;
  3. turn the paper over with the colored side up and fold the corners from the shorter side towards the middle;
  4. Then, at these corners, bend the existing corners on each side;
  5. Then bend the largest corners on each side;
  6. Turn the workpiece over with the white side up and bend the uppermost corner slightly inward (it looks like a pencil lead);
  7. Then you need to fold the paper across (colored side up);
  8. The corners of the resulting rectangle will need to be folded towards the middle.

How to make a convenient bookmark for a school diary

A school diary, just like books, needs a bookmark. The student decides which options to choose, but the simplest option is to use tape or braid.

The work will go like this:

  1. The braid needs to be measured so that it is slightly larger than the diary;
  2. Its upper part must be attached to the diary (to the cover) using double-sided tape.

Such bookmarks will not require the use of paper clips, which will protect the diary sheets from damage.

I love to read, and the kids at school need homemade bookmarks all the time. Making them with your own hands is even more interesting. Weaving patterns can be used to create ribbon bookmarks. And the technology of thread bookmarks came to me from a magazine. For the next idea, I saw enough photos on the site. I had to print out the pictures and make a felt base. In the pictures we have a cat and a panda. The pictures are still in black and white, but soon we will do them in color. Pockets for notes can also be made according to this pattern. The presentation of these bookmarks was a great success, the children ordered more, only with pictures of ice cream. Both fun and very practical.

Take a break from a busy day and spend some time doing some handicrafts. Handmade is the best way to relax and do something useful. For example, bright bookmarks! To make your reading more interesting, we will tell you how to make original and fun bookmarks for your favorite book or diary.

#1 Magnetic bookmark

Materials:

Plastic folder for files
Bright paper with a fun print
White chalk or pencil
Ruler
Scissors
Glue
Magnetic tape on a roll

Step 1: Gather all your materials and find a free work space.

Step 2. Determine the size of the future bookmark and cut out two rectangles of the same size from bright paper. If you cut one long strip, the design with the arc side will turn upside down when bent. This applies to paper with an animal print, as in our version, and with patterns in which the top and bottom are clearly visible. If you choose paper with abstraction, you can safely cut out one long strip.

Step 3. Place the rectangle on the plastic folder in the bend area and trace it with a pencil or chalk. Then cut out the bookmark. When you unroll it, you should end up with one long strip with a curve in the middle.

Step 4: Glue brightly colored paper to the outside of the bookmark on both sides.

Step 5: Measure and cut two pieces of magnetic tape. Glue them from the wrong side on both parts of the bookmark. Make sure that the second magnet is in exactly the same place as the first. This way, you can secure the bookmark between the pages and it won't fall out, no matter how hard you shake the book.

Step 6. After the glue has dried, be sure to test the bookmark!

#2 Bookmark made from a paper clip

Materials:

Scraps of fabric
Large paper clips
Scissors
Iron
Threads and wire
Hot glue gun

Step 1. Cut strips 1.5-2 cm wide from scraps of fabric. Let the length remain maximum to make it easier to form a bow.

Step 2. Iron the fabric well with a hot iron so that it holds its shape. Then form a bow by tying the center with thread.

Step 3. Using a small piece of wire, attach the bow to the paperclip and fill it with glue to prevent it from slipping.

Step 4. Cut a thin strip of fabric, 0.5 mm wide. When the glue is dry, cover the wire and glue with it.

Step 5. Finally, cut off the long tails of the bow and the bookmark is ready!

#3 Bookmark with buttons

Materials:

Buttons on the leg
Large paper clips
Hot glue gun

Place the button on a paper clip and secure it with hot glue in the leg area. In just half a minute you have an unusual and bright bookmark ready.

#4 Fabric bookmark with flower

Materials:

A few scraps of fabric
Button
Threads and sewing machine
Hot glue gun
A piece of cardboard or plastic

Step 1. Determine the dimensions of the future bookmark. Then fold the piece of fabric in half so that the fold is on the left or right side.

Step 2. Mark the dimensions of the future bookmark on the fabric and cut it out.

Step 3. Using a sewing machine or hand sew the fabric at the bottom and sides, from the wrong side. Then turn the fabric right side out. Use a pencil to gently push out the corners.

Step 4. Make one line on three sides, stepping back a few millimeters from the edge.

Step 5. Take thick cardboard (or a piece of plastic) and cut a strip to the size of the future bookmark. Tuck it inside the fabric pocket. This way the bookmark will keep its shape.

Step 6: Make one stitch at the top to secure the cardboard so it doesn't fall out.

Step 7. Using a piece of fabric rolled into a thin tube, make a flower. Sew a button in the center.

Step 8: Hot glue the flower to the top of the bookmark. That's all!
