Over the course of several decades, Dubai as a tourist area has managed to become a leader in the world of resorts and a kind of international standard in this area. The beaches of this mega-modern city attract tourists with their cleanliness, and the level of comfort, technology and service in hotels attracts millions of vacationers every year.

Dubai Marina: beach at JBR (Jumeirah Beach Residence)

Among the beaches in Dubai that tourists especially like, it is worth highlighting the beach in the Dubai Marina area. Dubai Marina is one of the most prestigious areas of Dubai. There are upscale hotels and apartments here. Despite the impressive density of buildings, construction is still ongoing and the area continues to be improved with new architectural ideas.

The beach in the Dubai Marina area is also called the beach at Jumeirah Beach Residence, since this area directly borders the beach strip.

The view of the coast is reminiscent of pictures from science fiction films about the future - everything looks so unreal and perfect.

Fans of relaxing on the beach note the surprisingly clean and fine sand, convenient entry into the water, and almost always calm, small waves of the bay. The beach is very convenient for swimming; in terms of the purity of the water, the color of the sand (fine and white), the hardness of the bottom and the soft blue color of the water, the beach surpasses many seaside resorts. And all this in combination with the city’s infrastructure!

The beach is very convenient for swimming: hard, fine white sand, smooth entry into the water.

Dubai Marina Beach is very popular among both package tourists and apartment owners in the area. Outside the beach there is The Beach complex: cafes, restaurants, shops, beauty salons.

How to get to Dubai Marina Beach

The most convenient way to get to the beach in the Dubai Marina area is by metro. To do this, you can get to the Dubai Marina or Jumeirah Lake Towers station. You can also get to the area by tram or taxi.

There are many hotels and apartments in the Dubai Marina area. If you choose this accommodation option, it will be convenient to walk to the beach. Especially close to the beach is the line of skyscrapers at Jumeirah Beach Residences.

Beach features and infrastructure

The beach is quite long and convenient for walking along the shore. It will take about 30 minutes to walk along the beach one way.

Most vacationers sit on the sand on towels. Some hotels provide umbrellas and sun loungers for their guests. There is also a rental of comfortable sun loungers and umbrellas at fairly high prices.

Along the beach line on the newly built promenade Jumeirah Beach Residence (Jumeirah Beach Residences) there are shops and cozy cafes, a jogging path.

Dubai Marina Beach is one of the most comfortable beaches in United Arab Emirates. It is located in the eponymous area of Dubai, which is famous for its glass skyscrapers, a beautiful bay with yachts and luxury hotels on the shore. If you want to settle on the seashore, then you should choose either Jumeirah Beach or Marina Beach in Dubai, which will be discussed in this article.

Dubai Marina beach review with photos

The coastline of the beach is noticeably long, therefore, despite a large number of people, there is no feeling of crowding here at all.

None of the beaches in Dubai have so many different children's entertainment, so if you are going on a beach holiday in the UAE with your family, best place probably won't be found. Here you will find safe areas for the little ones...

...and floating water parks with water attractions...

And all kinds of devices for active sea recreation.

And there is even a huge Ferris wheel!

Here the sea meets not just a desert, but an entire urban jungle! Only a relatively small strip of sand separates it from the towering hotels and apartment complexes. The sand, by the way, is fine and soft, beautiful color with a golden tint.

Magnets and pictures depicting camels wandering against the backdrop of a modern city are very popular in Dubai. Marina Beach brings this image to life.

Marina Beach in Dubai is equipped with pleasant relaxation areas with umbrellas and sun loungers. Some of these areas belong to Shekis and beach restaurants, where you can grab a cocktail while relaxing on a sun lounger, the other part belongs to hotels on the first line, which will be discussed further.

The Dubai Marina area is considered one of the most expensive and luxurious in the city. Living here is not cheap at all, and there are simply no hotels in the budget category. The cost of one night starts from $100, on average you have to pay $250-300 per night for a room, while the maximum price tag is not limited to anything - here you can find rooms for hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Of course, a more secluded and luxurious holiday will be in hotels with their own fenced beach area. These include the following hotels on Dubai Marina Beach:

  • — a stunning hotel with a huge green area and its own fenced beach;
  • — the beach, although not private, has its own designated cozy area for relaxation — sun loungers, umbrellas, towels and other amenities.
  • — also the beach is not private, but it is partially fenced and there is a feeling of privacy, the recreation area is magnificent, if you wish, you can swim in the pool overlooking the sea.

Cheap hotels Marina Beach in Dubai

The concept of “inexpensive” in Dubai is quite relative. In many countries, in a room for $100, you can feel like a millionaire based on the level of service, but according to the concepts of local sheikhs, this is not money at all)

However, even for such an affordable amount by Dubai standards, you can rent decent housing in the Dubai Marina area. I recommend these two apart-hotels, which, although not on the first line of the beach, are within walking distance from it:

  • - excellent apartments within walking distance from the beach, shops, metro restaurants and the embankment along which luxury yachts are lined. One of best combinations for price/quality in the area
  • - spacious apartments with panoramic window to the Dubai Marina Bay, which are located in the center of the area, but at the same time close to the beach and close to transport interchanges.

Marina Beach in Dubai how to get there

The hotels protect the beach from the road in an even row, so between the buildings you can get to the shore through narrow passages like these.

They lead from the beach directly to the transport road, which runs parallel to the coastline. Here you can catch a taxi to go to any area of the city.

How to get to Dubai Marina Beach by metro

To get to Dubai Marina by metro, you can get off at one of two stations on the Red Line - Damac Properties or Jumeirah Lakes Towers. In our experience, the walk to the beach takes no more than 10-15 minutes, and all around you will be the beauty of a modern, rich metropolis.

If you don’t want to walk on foot at all (for example, during the hot season), then from the metro station Damac Properties You can follow the signs to the tram, which you can take to the next stop. Jumeirah Beach Residence 1.

Dubai Marina Beach how to get there by bus or tram

As I mentioned above, the closest tram stop to Marina Beach in Dubai is Jumeirah Beach Residence 1, or Jumeirah Beach Residence 2. They are located a block from the entrance to the beach, on a street that runs parallel to the coastline. I posted a map of the Dubai tram in this article. At the same time, the tram line is immediately visible, so it’s easy to navigate.

Bus stops are located next to the tram lines, so finding them is also quite easy. The difference is that you can even get to other parts of the city by bus. The tram line is still quite short, so the tram runs on a very limited route. We used it more for the sake of interest and experience.

Buses No. 84 and No. 8 stop within walking distance from Marina Beach in Dubai, going through the center to the Deira area.

On the map below, I have marked all the paid and free beaches in Dubai and Sharjah, including Marina Beach. By clicking on the tags, you can find out basic information about each of the beaches and, if you wish, go to my review with photos for details.

Marina Beach in Dubai is available to everyone completely free of charge. For greater privacy, you can stay at a hotel with a fenced beach area. I love to relax here precisely because of the silence, convenient transport links and at the same time the feeling of an expensive life that does not pass by :) If Dubai, then definitely the Dubai Marina area!

Dubai Marina has occupied special place in the life of the city and all the Emirates as a whole. An area built from scratch in order to knock the casual passerby off his feet with wealth, luxury and pretentiousness. Arabic architecture, gold, silks and expensive wood? Leave this "old" Abu Dhabi.

Dubai Marina is glass and concrete, high-rise buildings reaching into the sky, peaks piercing the morning fog and the azure water of the canal caressing the snow-white yachts lined up in a parade of vanity.

I can write about Marina’s fashionability for a long time. Yes, this area is impressive. But you will see it yourself and feel it by the smells, sounds, and night illumination. I can assume that you are still at home and your trip to Dubai is ahead. Therefore, we will discuss more important things that you need to know before the tour, so that there are no disappointments later.

First of all, this article will be useful to tourists who want to live in Dubai Marina, but those who come here for a walk for a day or two will also find important details.

In this article we look at:

Dubai Marina: nuances of the area

The Dubai Marina area is divided into two parts by an artificial canal: the coastal part and the yacht part. Let's call them so schematically, since in reality they have no names.

The coastal part includes part of the skyscrapers of the Marina itself (blue skyscrapers) and the subdistrict of Jumeirah Beach Residence or JBR (sand-colored skyscrapers), as well as the best public beach in Dubai (more about it below).

The yachting area is located between the canal and Sheikh Zayed Road, the city's main thoroughfare. This part of the area is not in direct contact with the beach!

Blue skyscrapers Dubai Marina and sandy ones - JBR

Let’s compare both parts a little, highlighting the pros and cons of living in each.

Coastal Cluster (JBR):

Hotels are some of the most expensive in Dubai. Considering the sums for accommodation can be very impressive.

Some hotels in JBR have their own piece of beach with free sun loungers/umbrellas. Simpler hotels rent beach sets for pennies. The walk to the beach, even from the most distant hotel, is no more than 5 minutes.

Off topic. You can find out what prices are now for tours to the Emirates, find the best one and not go wrong with the price on the website. You can also arrange an installment plan there, as well as pay by credit card

The hotels are located far from the Dubai metro station, which means there is no way to quickly get on and go to another part of the city.

In hotels in the coastal cluster, rooms with a kitchen are very expensive, because they are often huge apartments of 100–500 square meters. m. There is no opportunity to save on food, because you will have to eat in restaurants. The minimum check in a simple European cafe in Dubai Marina is 100 USD for two.

Dubai Marina and Jumeirah Beach Residence

Yacht part

Hotels are one and a half, or even two to three times cheaper than in the coastal cluster.

Not a single hotel has its own beach and only rare instances provide a transfer. Due to the fact that you have to walk not in a straight line, but along bridges, winding between the territories of other hotels, the road to the beach takes at least 10 minutes.

A lot of inexpensive apartments with fully equipped kitchens and supermarkets next door.

Determine what is most important to you and choose a hotel based on that. To make your task a little easier, I’ll suggest a few excellent hotels that are popular among my tourists:

  • Coastal Cluster or JBR: .
  • Yacht part: .

You can navigate the prices for these and other hotels using the search form:

Entertainment and shopping

There is plenty of entertainment in the area. The price tag is not cheap everywhere, but no one will take money from you just for a “walk”. So, what can you see in Dubai Marina.

The Walk at JBR is one of the landmarks of New Dubai and the very first promenade in the city. Divided into two parts: pedestrian and road. The Walk is: expensive cars and boutiques, gourmet restaurants, jewelry stores, countless bars, coffee shops, ice cream and souvenir shops + many great places for cool photos.

Marina Mall looks like a shabby place compared to the well-known Dubai Mall and Mall of Emirates. It's a quiet little one shopping mall, whose main responsibility is to supply guests and residents of the area with the necessary Everyday life goods and services. In Marina Mall you will find: a grocery hypermarket, currency exchange, pharmacy, cosmetics stores and household chemicals, toys, appliances and electronics, restaurants and coffee shops. Prices are higher than in small free-standing shops, but the choice in Marina Mall stores is huge.

Pier 7 is a restaurant house directly connected to the Marina Mall shopping center. These are seven floors, each of which has a restaurant of different international cuisine and price segment. The higher the floor, the more expensive the prices on the menu. On the ground floor - the most budget-friendly one - you can have lunch every day, since prices are really normal for Dubai. The upper restaurant offers magnificent views of the bay. If you have a special date coming up or just for a great dinner with a great atmosphere, be sure to come here!

By the way, even in Marina it’s easy to save up to 50% on food and entertainment. And it’s very, very easy. The discount system has been operating for a very long time, but not many tourists from the CIS know about it. And, by the way, an ordinary average family from three people With its help, you save at least 300 USD for a week-long trip. I think this is a great reason to understand this application .

You can walk endlessly in Dubai Marina and find something new every time. Have breakfast on the terrace of the yacht club, watching the shining yachts and planning your day. Take a ride on a pleasure boat or water bus, advertisements for which you will definitely find on the embankment along the canal. Check out Zero Gravity! Of course, not everyone will be able to decide to jump with a parachute, but who knows?

The Beach or Dubai Marina Beach

The Beach Dubai is the laconic name of the public beach in JBR. Beautiful, but too noisy and active place. Looking for peace and tranquility? Then you should go to any other place, but not here. People come to The Beach more for beautiful “pretentious” photos than for good beach holiday. Guests of JBR hotels relax here. Entrance to the beach is free. On this free services downloaded:

  • sun lounger + umbrella - 110 AED;
  • 2 sun loungers and an umbrella - 195 AED;
  • sunscreen - 10 AED;
  • towels for a deposit - 50 AED;
  • shower - 5 AED, free when renting a beach set;
  • changing rooms, toilet - free;
  • shower and changing rooms - 5 AED/1 visit;
  • parking for cars - 20 AED/hour.

If you don’t want to pay for sun loungers, no one will forbid you to lie on a towel. Well, if you live in hotels nearby, then ask - they sometimes give their guests beach sets for cheap.

There are no “women’s” days. At the entrance, beach workers try to cut off the unwanted contingent - visiting laborers. However, many people from India and Pakistan have successful business or work in high positions, they just like to live in high-rise buildings next door, so “misfires” happen - they let in low-paid and uncultured workers who skillfully pretend to be this “elite”. These guys love to stare at and take videos of European tourists.

The Beach is considered the best in Dubai. I would argue with this. The best thing about Marina Beach is the beautiful high-rise buildings in the background and nothing more. Despite the high prices, at The Beach you will receive:

  • pestering sellers of just about anything;
  • annoying barkers from fur and gold stores;
  • overly fragrant camels scurrying here and there;
  • the eternal movement of tourists near your sun lounger;
  • girls who tuck their panties into their buns and take pictures in provocative poses;
  • visiting workers from India and Pakistan who come here to look at the girls from the point above.

But I'm already nitpicking Real cons- too many people, especially on weekends, and prices. Only in summer at +45°C is the JBR beach deserted:

You have to pay for everything, and water attractions cost an incredible amount of money. On the other hand, the beach has everything that a person could generally think of for a comfortable beach time.

Life in Dubai Marina never stops day or night. The area is beautiful. Yes, it has its downsides (and for me, this beach) and its upsides (everything else). For some tourists it “doesn’t come”, while others don’t want to leave there at all. What will Dubai Marina be like for you?

Well, that seems to be all I will be glad if you rate this article:
