Detailed instructions for cutting blanks and assembling a serving table

  1. We mark the parts of the table top and bottom shelf on the wood block, having the same rounding radius (about 225 mm). We cut it out using a jigsaw or a router with a compass.

  2. When deciding how to make a serving table according to all the rules, we mill the blanks along the radius in several passes, each time going deeper by about 5 mm. Having cut out both elements, we round their edges with a milling cutter (radius 9.5 mm).
  3. We select a round hole for the handle using a template in the tabletop, installing a groove cutter and a copy sleeve on the milling machine.

  4. Take a blank for the side wall. We cut out a rotary stop from it, which will hold the folding element of the lid. For work we use a jigsaw with a fine-toothed file. We cut at high speeds, then the cut will be smooth.
  5. We drill holes for dowels in the ends of the side walls and in the table top. To create an ideal pairing, we use markers (for marking mating sockets) and a stencil jig (for precise drilling). Trying to make the serving table beautiful, we carefully sand the parts before assembly. We round the open edges with a cutter with a radius of 6.35 mm.
    We connect the tabletop with the lower shelf with the side walls, coating the dowels and the walls of the sockets with glue. First, we fasten the side panel with the cutout to the shelf, then install the second side wall.

  6. Before gluing the table top and side walls on dowels, we insert a rotary stop with a radius of 120 mm into place. We don't use glue here. A washer must be put on the lower dowel with a diameter of 6 mm.
  7. We assemble the drawers on dowels or connect them using the dovetail method. In the sides of the drawers, we cut out grooves for the bottoms using a milling cutter. We glue plywood parts into them. TO outside We attach telescopic guides to the sides.

  8. Cut it out homemade videos diameter 140 mm. On the end side of the roller we cut out a groove 12 mm wide with a milling cutter. We will install an O-ring in it with glue, which will work like a wheel tire. The axles of the wheels are dowels ∅ 15 mm, recessed (also with glue) into the bottom shelf by 40 mm.
  9. TO internal parties We attach guides to the side walls. After that in front panels drawer holes, handles ∅ 25 mm. We put the boxes in place.

  10. To hide the piano hinge for folding the table top, we select 1.5 mm deep folds on the edges of the lid and the folding part.
  11. We are preparing a 4 mm thick template for bending the duralumin tube. We adjust the tube, bent along a radius of 200 mm, to the planned length of the fence.

  12. We put the racks on the duralumin arch. We insert the ends of the tube into 8 mm sockets drilled in the inner side of the table. At the same time, install the racks in the pre-drilled holes.

Dimensions small table for the kitchen on wheels.

  • 1 round piece, the diameter of which is not less than 55 cm (the future tabletop, its size is chosen at will, but it is better that its diameter is no more than 750 mm);
  • 2 semicircular parts (as a sample – a circle with a diameter of 55 cm), their width is 265 mm;
  • a round piece with a diameter of 55 cm (it will be the base of the table);
  • rectangular blank: height 71.5 cm and width 55 cm (this is the central partition that connects the tabletop to the base);
  • rectangular blanks following parameters: 245 by 230 mm, 245 by 350 mm, 470 by 245 mm;

Product assembly process

  1. On the cut of the central partition of the table (along the sides with a width of 55 cm) and in the center of the tabletop and base, using a drill, drill holes for the tongues (use a stopper to avoid drilling through the workpieces). The gap between the tongues is no more than 10 cm.
  2. At a height of 35 cm and 47 cm with different sides In the central partition of the table, also make holes for fixing 2 rounded shelves (in their smooth surface you should also prepare holes for tongues).
  3. Install the tongues and connect the entire structure into one whole, carefully look to see if all the parts are connected smoothly.
  4. Place vertically rectangular blanks (the height of which is 35, 47 and 23 cm), mark the areas for their fixation and make holes for tongues on their cuts in the tabletop and at the base of the future product (the entire product should be disassembled). In the rounded shelves, drill holes through to secure the top and bottom pieces, placed directly above each other, using a tongue and groove.

Do not coat the tongues with glue yet, since it is quite difficult to make the product correctly for the first time. Assemble all the components onto the tongues and carefully check whether everything is done correctly. Then you need to disassemble the table.

  1. When assembling the entire product, start from the bottom: attach the base to glue-coated dowels on the central and lower partitions, then 2 rounded shelves, upper partitions and finally the tabletop. When fastening all the table elements, use a wooden hammer.
  2. Wait a bit for the glue to dry.
  3. On 8 pieces 19 cm long, file the ends at an angle of 67°, so you can assemble an even octagonal shape from the pieces. Apply glue to all ends, fasten them together, press lightly and leave to dry. To prevent the elements from moving, glue to their outer edges sticky tape(for example, masking tape).
  4. Then you need to turn the table over and glue the resulting octagon from below to the base of the table - you will get a base. When the glue dries, remove the adhesive tape.
  5. Now attach the wheels. They are attached with screws to the base of the product inside the octagonal product; make sure that they are not visible from under the base, which, in turn, should not interfere with the table’s movement. You can control the height of fixation of the rollers due to the thickness of the supports for them. Make sure that all 4 wheels rotate easily and do not touch the base.
  6. Cover the ends of the product elements with furniture edges.

Finally, the coffee table can be decorated in an original way. Exist various ways decor, for example, mosaic, decoupage, craquelure, painting, etc. You can also decorate the coffee table to your taste seashells, mirror elements, wood, etc.

A widespread option for decorating tabletops using decoupage. After completing it, you need to apply at least 2 layers of varnish to the tabletop. When each new layer has dried, it is necessary to sand the product - this is necessary in order for the varnish coating to be absolutely smooth and even.

Do wooden table on wheels that can be moved to any location. It will be indispensable for outdoor recreation.

All materials are taken from cut down trees, so there is no need to destroy living trees specifically for this purpose.

All table dimensions are arbitrary - the article only describes the method.

Consider the height of the table before you start cutting the wood.

Tabletop

We cut the wood to the required thickness. Use a chainsaw, which will greatly speed up the whole process.

Table base

We cut off a small piece for the table top with a lid. We cut out small pieces at the same distance from each other, as in the photo above. We insert prepared boards of the same size into these slots. There is little space left in the center: the boards do not fit tightly together. Then we will put a “lid” on top.

The boards may not be enough for stability - install three boards for the legs.

We attach the rollers with regular bolts to the bottom of the legs.

In the center of the log in the upper part we drive an iron rod or screw; the table top will be attached to it.

Tabletop installation

The base must be stable and not tilt to one side, otherwise the tabletop will not hold up.

If the base is still a little uneven, do your best to correct it.

We fix the tabletop to the base using a rod or screw.

Finishing touches

The table is ready! It stands level, the tabletop is tightly secured to the base, and can be moved to any location on casters. Next, you can paint the table in any suitable color.

Most serving tables are very compact in size, so they are suitable even for small apartments. In addition, in conditions of limited living space, it is always better to give preference to mobile and transformable pieces of furniture over stationary ones. For example, it is worth considering that a table on wheels will be more convenient than a regular stationary tea table, because it is much easier to move it to a corner if it is in the way, or transport it to a room that currently does not have enough horizontal planes.

Many people probably know that feeling when you wake up early on a sunny morning and a freshly prepared breakfast is waiting for you in front of your bed. A cup of hot tea will invigorate you and make your morning truly enjoyable. Typically, such breakfasts in bed are served on serving tables. We will devote today's article to an overview of the types of serving tables and how to assemble a serving table on wheels with your own hands. Let us immediately note that in order to complete the project presented below, you do not need to be a carpentry master - any man can easily cope with this.

Serving tables differ from coffee tables primarily because they, as a rule, have wheels that allow you to conveniently move them around the room. Such tables are most often used in restaurants and hotels, when it is necessary to deliver several ordered dishes to the client’s room and to his table. Coping with this task without a serving table is very difficult.

Based on the functions assigned to serving tables on wheels, the design of such tables usually includes two shelves so that not only several dishes can fit on the table, but also drinks, serving sets and more.

Serving table with bottle holder

Today you can find a huge number of different designs of serving tables, for example, with three shelves, with a stand for bottles, folding and many others.

Folding serving table on wheels with three shelves

Of course, a serving table can also come in handy at home, so in this article we suggest you make it yourself at home. We will end up with such a bright, modest table.

The project assumes that the table has only two countertops - usually this is enough to carry breakfast for two. A handle will be attached to one of the sides, by which the table will be transported.

A drawing of a wooden serving table on wheels is shown in the figure below.

Before you start assembling the serving table with your own hands, you need to prepare the following tools:

  • A circular saw;
  • Drill and drill set;
  • Screwdriver and screws;

  • Pneumatic hammer;
  • Sander;
  • Tassels;
  • Tape measure, pencil;
  • Safety glasses, respirator, gloves.

To assemble the table in hardware store You should also purchase the following materials:

  • Board 50 mm × 100 mm – for the frame;
  • Board 25 mm × 100 mm – for countertops;
  • Rail 25 mm × 50 mm – for edging tabletops;
  • Dye.

The first stage in making a serving table on wheels with your own hands is assembling the frame. The serving table consists of an upper and lower base connected to each other vertical posts.

First, let's prepare the foundations. To do this you need to use circular saw cut 4 pieces 86 cm long and 4 pieces 32 cm long.

Preparing blanks for the table frame

We join the boards according to the diagram shown in the figure below.

Diagram of the upper and lower bases of the table

For fastening we use screws, screw two screws into each joint.

Preparing holes for interlocking workpieces

We fasten the workpieces with screws

Now that the bases of the future countertops are ready, we connect them with vertical posts, as shown in the figure below. The legs, which are 78 cm high, are attached using outside prepared grounds.

Wooden serving table frame diagram

For convenience, while fastening the frame with screws, you can secure it with clamps.

Assembling the table frame

The second step in assembling a serving table with your own hands is preparing the upper and lower tabletops. In total, we will need 20 planks 10 cm wide, 18 of which should be 42 cm long and 2 planks 32 cm long. Thus, it turns out that the bases will be recessed 5 cm relative to the table tops along the long side of the table.

Assembling table tops for a table on wheels

To level the tabletop planks as evenly as possible, using clamps, temporarily secure a board of the same thickness between the table legs.

Aligning tabletop planks

Attach the first 10 pieces to the top base using finishing nails or screws.

Fastening the tabletop with finishing nails

Similarly, we fix 8 pieces in the middle of the second base and fasten two shorter boards on the sides.

Assembling the lower table top

The final step in preparing the countertops is to attach the edging along the long sides of the countertops. The length of the slats should be 93 cm.

Decorative framing of tabletops

We also do fastening with finishing nails.

We fill all the holes and recesses that appeared when assembling the serving table.

The table is now ready for sanding.

After sanding all parts of the table, you can begin painting.

Treating the table with primer

The choice of color for your DIY serving table is yours. According to our project, the table should acquire a rich red color.

Painting the serving table

One of the main functional parts of the table is the wheels. Without it, the table will not become truly serving and will not be as convenient to use. We mount the wheels using screws.

Attaching the wheels to the frame

Today, in specialized stores you can find a huge assortment of different swivel wheels for furniture, differing in design, diameter, material, fastening design, as well as the presence of a brake. For ease of use, it is recommended to choose wheels metal structure with a diameter of at least 80 mm.

So, we got this spectacular wooden serving table, no worse than those sold in stores, and assembling it with your own hands, as you have already seen, was quite simple.

As you have already noticed, our project does not provide for the installation of separate holders for bottles or other additional fasteners. However, this is not difficult to think through and do yourself. Today, in specialized stores you can buy a huge variety of fasteners.

We present to your attention several interesting designs serving tables on wheels.

Round serving table

Serving table with newspaper rack

Transformable serving table on wheels

I always wanted to make or buy a wooden serving table:

Firstly, it is much more stable than plastic ones.

Secondly, wood is much more noble than glass, plastic or other synthetic materials. Plus it's very good here. design solution. On the one hand, the table seems quite narrow, and on the other, quite roomy (after all, it does not provide for gatherings of 20 people).

The only thing I would be very careful about is the paint. It’s one thing for the table to be in the hallway or hallway, and there will be phones, magazines, etc. on top, but it’s completely different if there’s food, groceries, etc. on it. It is important not to allow chemical substances, which are contained in many paints, remained or came into contact with food. This will definitely be wrong.

The drawing of the wheel when you click on it is very dark, almost invisible.

This is because it is in vector format, PNG. Save it to your computer and everything will be fine. If it doesn’t work, write me, I’ll post all the drawings separately for download.

I already guessed and downloaded it for myself.

Hello, I repeated your table, twice even. I’ll give one to myself and one to give to my mother. Thanks for the sizes and printouts. The first one was made like yours, in size, and the second one was made to suit you. I shortened it by 15 cm, bent the handle holder upward, and now my wife rolls it without bending over. Special thanks for the wheels, they are beautiful. For myself, I did not mill grooves into them, I left them solid. All the best.

Thank you very much for your feedback. It’s always nice to know that your work was not in vain, but was useful to someone.

Can I have all sizes?

Isn't that all there? Which ones are needed?

Hello, Alexander. If I understand correctly, the thickness of the shield is 18 mm. With a wheel it is more difficult, I print out the diameter and it turns out not 250 but 290, in A4 parameters. I convert from A4 to 20*25 and it turns out to be almost 250. After scanning I get a DSLR when printing 240. Tell me what I’m doing wrong, thanks in advance.

it all depends on what program you are printing through. And secondly, this site distorts the images. Write your email and I will send you the original.

Sent, please check. You definitely can’t print with such a program; it adjusts it to its own standards. I print using Photoshop, it gives 100% original.

Thank you very much Alexander, the same thing happens to a file with a PNG extension, but please tell me what program is best to open a file with a Cdr extension.

This is for coreldians. source, just in case. Now I’ll give you a different format, try it. finish the edges with a compass

Alexander, thank you very much. I installed CorelDRAW, everything went fine and the DSLR. All the best.

Glad it worked out for you.

Alexander, good afternoon!

I would really like to repeat your table. When printing images from a website or from Photoshop, the image sizes are scaled, so you don’t get the correct ones.
