Make your own manicure vacuum cleaner. A manicure hood that removes odors and dust from the work table. Technical characteristics of the device

Most people associate the concept of “vacuum cleaner” with cleaning premises. However, manicurists know that a device with this name is necessary not only in everyday life, but also during the nail extension procedure.

Why do you need a manicure vacuum cleaner?

Nail extensions allow women to make their hands well-groomed and attractive. However, when filing gel or acrylic nails, a large amount of dust is generated, which contains many harmful components.

Prolonged inhalation of fine particles leads to their settling on the mucous membrane of the respiratory tract, which can give rise to the development of certain diseases:

  • rhinitis;
  • tracheitis;
  • bronchial asthma;
  • allergies.

To prevent such unpleasant consequences, manicurists use special vacuum cleaners when removing gel nails.

How to choose the right equipment

To make the work of a nail specialist as comfortable as possible, it is recommended to choose a vacuum cleaner for manicure according to the following characteristics:

  • high performance - the device must effectively suck up dust before it spreads throughout the room;
  • high-quality material of the dust collector - it is impossible for the bag to let the dust particles collected into it pass through;
  • compactness - the vacuum cleaner should not take up much space on the manicure table and interfere with the specialist performing the procedure;
  • noiselessness - loud sound when the equipment is operating leads to irritability, loss of attention, fatigue of the master, which significantly affects the quality of the procedure and the final result.

There are the following types of manicure vacuum cleaners:

  • portable desktop device - is the most popular. It can be used at a permanent workplace or taken with you for nail extensions at a client’s home. This vacuum cleaner is a small device in the form of a hand rest, which is why it performs a double function - it collects dust and allows the client to position his hand comfortably, in addition, it significantly helps the master in his work. When choosing a device of this type, you should pay attention to the material of its body. The most comfortable surface for the client is considered to be one covered with soft leatherette, resistant to solvents and other agents. It will also be a plus if the tabletop device is additionally equipped with a lamp, which will save space on the manicure table;
  • stationary equipment - used only at a permanent workplace, since it is built in above or below the manicure table (the grille from the vacuum cleaner is placed on the tabletop). The advantage of such a device is that it does not take up space on the work surface, and it has more power than a desktop vacuum cleaner. However, the cost of such equipment is higher.

Each nail specialist can choose the most suitable design for himself, depending on whether he does a manicure in a salon, at home, or works on the road.

Modern stationary hoods are equipped with powerful lamps, which makes the master’s work easier and saves space on the manicure table.

How to make your own manicure hood

There are many videos on the Internet with reviews of tabletop manicure hoods. Their design is quite simple: a fan is built into the case, under which there is a dust collection bag. Therefore, making such a hood yourself will not be difficult. To do this, you need to be able to work with a soldering iron and prepare the necessary parts.

Vacuum cleaner from a computer cooler

You can create a tabletop hood from a computer cooler using materials that almost everyone has at home, but if not, then they are easy to find in any hardware store. So, for a homemade device you will need the following parts:

The process of assembling the vacuum cleaner itself is performed in the following sequence:

While filing extended nails, the finished hood can be placed nearby on the work table, and after the procedure, non-woven bags for collecting dust can be easily shaken out and washed, after which they can be used again for work.

A homemade vacuum cleaner can be improved by making a housing for it. To do this, you need to make a structure out of plywood that resembles the roof of a birdhouse. The angle between the two slopes should be approximately 120°. You need to cut a hole in one of the sides and cover it with a protective grill. The assembled ventilation product should be attached to this hole from the inside. Place the dust bag on the cooler and start working.

Homemade built-in hood

Stationary hoods, which are used by nail specialists in salons, are quite expensive. But at home you can make a built-in model, spending a small amount.

To make such a vacuum cleaner you will need the same computer cooler. You can use two or even three fans at once, then the exhaust power will increase significantly.

So, to get a built-in manicure hood, you need to follow certain steps:

  1. Determine the location on the table surface where the flat ventilation grille will be located.
  2. Cut a hole in the countertop for the fan.
  3. Attach the assembled structure of a cooler (or several fans) under the table cover.
  4. Place a dust bag on the cooler. You can also attach a corrugated exhaust pipe to the fan, at the end of which you need to place a bag made of fabric with a non-woven backing. Due to their larger size, dust collectors in this case will have to be changed much less frequently.
  5. A grill should be secured to the top of the countertop.

A vacuum cleaner for manicure is necessary in the work of a nail specialist, since such a device helps protect the surrounding atmosphere from pollution by harmful dust, thereby preventing the development of diseases of the upper respiratory tract of the master. To perform modern modeling and fashionable nail design, we use special equipment, reliable manicure tools and materials so that our well-groomed fingers always look perfect. The popularity of nail extensions with gel or acrylic is growing noticeably, since many of us have quite thin nail plates. But during filing of an artificial nail to give the desired shape to the free edge, a large number of microparticles get onto the surface of the manicure table and into the air. How to deal with this unpleasant problem if you often do nail extensions at home or perform artificial nail modeling for your clients?

Vacuum cleaner for manicure (hood, dust collector)- This is an almost silent device with a durable plate body, equipped with a powerful fan and replaceable dust bags. The hood can be either built-in into a manicure table or mobile for convenient movement of the device.

It is important to note that protective fabric masks, which are traditionally used by manicurists and pedicurists during nail modeling, protect the respiratory tract from dust by 50-70%. And the microparticles floating in the air after polishing artificial nails contain a large amount of substances harmful to health and even carcinogenic. Once in the lungs, these substances can provoke the development of allergies, asthma, tracheitis and other diseases of the respiratory system. In addition, this dust can cause headaches and eye inflammation.

The powerful manicure vacuum cleaner instantly sucks up all the dust and remaining material while filing gel or acrylic nails, protecting your body from harmful chemicals. From this article you will learn how to choose a dust collector for individual nail correction at home and which vacuum cleaner will be better for manicures and pedicures when serving clients. By the way, modern models of hoods are easily mounted on pedicure stands, which facilitates the process of modeling toenails using different attachments for hardware pedicure.

For any manicurist, a necessary thing in their work is an extractor hood. It is needed to draw in dust that appears when filing a helium nail. Thus, the air in the salon will be much cleaner, neither the master nor the client will inhale chemical particles, and the area around the workplace is always clean.

Why do you need a manicure hood?

Most women use special devices equipped with an electric milling cutter to process their nails. It's high quality, doesn't take much time and makes your nails look flawless. But during hardware manicure, a large amount of dust is generated. For safety, it is necessary to use special filtering equipment that operates in suction mode, also helping to prevent the spread of viruses.

The manicure extractor literally turns chemical odors into environmentally friendly ones. Vapors from various chemicals and solvent liquids are completely absorbed by the filter, which contains carbon.

Types of hoods for manicure

Manicure hoods are usually silent. There are different types of hoods, you can buy them in the same place where everything for nail extensions is sold. When purchasing, it is important to pay attention to the manufacturer, the power of the equipment and the warranty.

Let's take, for example, a specialized air purifier from dust Air-Magic for professional salons and manicure workshops. This cleaner is currently new on the market. Its use does not require holes in the walls and air outlet to the street. It has good lighting and adjustable draft, which makes the specialist’s work easier, as well as a built-in filter that does not require replacement.

An important factor is that it can be moved without problems and its position adjusted both horizontally and vertically, at the discretion of the master. Another plus is that this type of hood is almost silent (depending on the power), which is important for the comfort of people in the cabin. The choice of power is determined by the needs of the cabin.

A built-in manicure hood will not take up additional space on the work area. The built-in hood is suitable for both salons and small office rooms. They do not require additional space. As a rule, they are installed under the master’s work table; the metal grid is built into the table. This type of hood is somewhat more expensive than tabletop hoods, but for the comfort of the client, many craftsmen spare no expense.

Tabletop manicure hoods are usually compact and lightweight, which allows them to be removed after finishing work. They are also often used as a rest for the hands of the master and the client.

Everyone knows that troubleshooting embedded equipment can be quite problematic. As practice shows, repairing a desktop vacuum cleaner plus a desktop costs the same as purchasing a fully equipped table. Many experts will confirm that a powerful hood-stand for manicure gives one hundred percent confidence in the cleanliness of the desktop. Almost every such machine provides a satisfactory level of comfort, thanks to additional mounts for the dust collector.

How to choose a hood?

Everyone understands that the hoods on the market have both pros and cons. The main thing for the buyer is that the equipment fulfills its stated purposes. For example, this is the ability to remove odors or dust from a room, silent operation, pleasant appearance, simple replacement of parts (so-called consumables), warranty and, of course, the possibility of maintenance.

According to reviews, it is imperative to follow the manufacturer’s recommendations for installing equipment. It is important to understand that the longer the suction tube and the more bends and sections it has, the less efficiently the device will extract dust, and even more so, the smell. If, after all, the pipe is of a decent length, then the fan must be more powerful than usual, and this, of course, affects the cost of the equipment.

If you have any special requirements, you need to discuss this with the seller; it is quite possible that a hood will be made to order for you. In case none of the hoods on the market suits you, there is an option to make it yourself. It's quite simple, with tools and materials that can be purchased at any construction market. There is no need for special equipment for this - you can practically make a hood on a staircase. The total cost of producing such a hood is about two thousand rubles, which is much cheaper than buying it in a store.

We cut off a piece of the edge with a margin and apply it to the surface, placing it on top iron. Once the glue on the edge melts, it will slightly will sag. At this point you need to remove the iron and smooth out surface with a soft cloth.

    This must be done carefully, but quickly, because the glue is cooling down instantly. Excess edges cut off metal ruler.

    Note: a thin edge is easily glued with an iron, but to paste the tabletop with a thicker edge you will need a hair dryer and a milling cutter.

    Step 3. We make holes in the side walls of the cabinet for dowels(5 mm) – 2 pcs. on one side and 2 pcs. for the top large shelf. Using dowels we will fasten the cabinet and install a large shelf. Wet the dowels glue and insert into the holes.

    Step 9 We turn the cabinet over and drill holes along the dowels (5 mm). On bottom We also drill holes for dowels (5 mm). Dowels Lubricate with glue and insert into the sidewall, close the bottom with the top. Additional bottom we fix self-tapping screws or eccentrics. If you do not plan to move it, the tabletop can be fixed corners and dowels. Eccentrics are needed for excellent fixation of the tabletop. The locations for drilling holes must coincide with the sides of the cabinet, so before drilling them you need to outline pencil.

    Step 11 Fastening table top to the cabinet. Insert into holes shelf holders and install on them small shelf.
