Limit thermostat connection diagram. We are deciding how to connect a thermostat to a gas autonomous heating boiler. Types and characteristics of thermostats

The most crucial moment in installing a heated floor is connecting heated floors to the thermostat. This electrical appliance maintains constant comfortable temperature in a residential area, consuming a minimum amount of electricity.

Peculiarities

The thermostat is designed to stabilize temperature indicators, auto-connect and disconnect heating devices. The electrical appliance takes readings from the temperature sensor and automatically turns off the electrical power when it reaches required temperature. Even at this time, the appliance is active and continues to automatically regulate the temperature. When the temperature drops, the regulator resumes its activity.

Types and principles of operation

Thermostats of different heating mechanisms have different automatic control mechanisms.

For water floors:

  1. Two way valve.
  2. Three-way valve.

The peculiarity of its operation is the physical limitation of the inlet of boiling water into the heating mechanism. This ensures the required volume of water at the desired temperature.

Types of thermostats:

  • Digital. The operating feature is similar to an electronic-mechanical thermostat. Distinctive feature is the ability to set the temperature regime in the electric sensor. The electric mechanism is equipped with a touch panel where information is displayed.

  • Electronic-mechanical. It is a device whose operating principle is similar to the operation of an iron. Temperature regulation occurs by rotating the wheel. Turning it in one direction increases the temperature, turning it in the other direction decreases it. It is possible to determine the temperature regime only by your own intuition. The only advantage of such a thermostat is low price and ease of installation.

  • Programmable. This type of device demonstrates a smart electrical mechanism. Able to turn off and on the heating system at a given temperature. It is also possible to turn on the device in set time. All temperature modes are shown on the control panel.

Depending on the number of control channels, the thermostat is:

  • Two-zone, which operates simultaneously in two areas of the heating system.
  • Single-channel – processing of a special signal from one sensor.

By mounting method:

  • Internal (built-in).
  • External (remote, overhead).

At the moment, many varieties of heated floors with heating elements are produced, the most common among them are:

  • Resistive cable. There are two-core and single-core.

  • Cable with self-adjusting function.

  • Thermomat (represents a two-layer canvas, inside of which heating mechanisms are sealed).

  • Film (infrared). The basic basis for such heating is carbon and carbon rods.

Connection diagram

The thermostat is mounted in the wall near an outlet or switch. A mounting box for the thermostat is installed in the prepared funnel in the wall, to which the electrical wires (zero and phase) of the power supply and temperature sensor are connected. Next, the thermostat is connected.

The thermostat mechanism has side sockets to which the electrical wiring (220 V) is connected, temperature sensor and a heating element.

Knowledge of wire colors is important:

  • White – L-phase.
  • Blue – N zero.
  • The yellow-green wire is grounding.

Connection diagram:

  1. Electrical wires (voltage 220V) are connected to connectors 1 and 2. A blue wire is connected to 1, and a white wire to 2.
  2. The heating electric cable wires are routed to sockets 3 and 4: No. 3 – wire N, No. 4 – wire L.
  3. The temperature sensor wires are connected to pins 6 and 7, regardless of polarity.
  4. Functional check. To do this, connect the power supply, set the temperature on the device to a minimum and connect the system of heating elements (usually using a special handle or button). Next, they exhibit maximum temperature. The correct operation of the thermostat will be indicated by a click, which warns of an electrical short circuit.

Connection diagrams are different and may differ, so manufacturers number all electrical contacts for correct connection.

Instructions for connecting a warm water floor:

  • First, install the temperature sensor. It is recommended to install the temperature sensor close to the thermostat.
  • Assemble the servo drive in the heating floor design. This electromechanism is designed to automatically regulate the water pressure passing into the circuits.
  • Connect the existing electrical wires into a single circuit.
  • Adjust the heating elements of the mechanism.
  • Upon completion of installation, you must connect to the network and check the functionality of the entire system. For 90-120 minutes, measure temperature conditions with an ordinary thermometer in the area where the sensor is located. Index proper operation consists in completely eliminating deviations in readings.

In this case, the thermostat controls the temperature of the air, and not the heating of the coating.

Connecting the thermostat to a two-wire cable. The two-core cable system under the protective layer consists of two current-carrying wires. It is easy to install because the connection is made using a single wire, as opposed to a single-core electrical cable.

The connection diagram shows that in a two-core electrical cable 3 electrical wires are in contact: brown and blue are current-carrying, yellow-green is grounding. The phase is connected to connector 3, electrical contact 4 is connected to zero (blue), and contact 5 is grounded (green).

Connecting a single-core cable. The design of a single-core cable consists of one current-carrying electrical wire (white). The second green wire is intended for grounding the PE shield. Wires are connected to the thermostat electrical contacts No. 3 and No. 4 white, and the green one is connected to No. 5.

Connecting warm mats is almost no different from the process for cable heating.

Let's just look at the differences:

  • To install the temperature sensor, a recess is made on the surface of the mat. The structure is connected to the network using copper conductors located along the edges of the heating mats.
  • It is possible to cut the film coating along the contours. On the reverse side of the film, the electrical wires are insulated, and on the front side they are left open for connection to electrical wires. Film strips are laid parallel to each other and connected to each other.

How to connect correctly with your own hands?

To properly connect the thermostat to warm floor do it yourself, you need to strictly follow the recommendations installation work:

  1. Place the mounting box in the prepared pocket and connect the power cable.
  2. The temperature sensor must be inserted into the hole in the installation cup.
  3. Connect the electrical wires to turn on three way valve or heating cables.
  4. Using the instructions for the thermal device, connect the load and the temperature device.
  5. Next, the power cable is connected to the input electrical terminals of the thermostat.
  6. Power is supplied and heating is turned on. To control the heating of the floor, the temperature regime is set to 26-28 degrees. If the sensor is located in the wall, a temperature of 20-22 degrees is used.

After all installation work, it is necessary to test the systems for operation. Areas with uneven heating are disconnected from the network and tested for resistance. Detected problems are eliminated and the functioning of the heated floor system is restored. Right installed system determined when obtaining the required climate at several stages of turning on/off the heating elements.

Installation and configuration

Controlling and setting the electric floor heating thermostat is as follows:

  • When the thermostat is connected to the general network and the “0” key is pressed, the device’s power is turned on.
  • Temperature control in most models is performed using the “^” and “V” keys.
  • When the temperature is set, the Set indicator lights up.
  • The desired result of the set temperature state is indicated by the Run indicator.
  • Disconnection from the electrical supply is performed using the ON/OFF key.

Controlling the temperature of water heated floors

The most common way to connect a water heating mechanism is using a manifold. The ends of two pipes are connected to the mechanism: one to the supply comb, the second to the return comb. Each circuit receives a coolant of identical temperature. This method not very practical, because you need to determine the air temperature based on your own feelings.

To simplify work, flow meters are installed at the inlet to help straighten temperature norm. In this case, control is also performed manually. Thermostats are designed to automatically control the device, and servos play the role of an executor.

For large plot heating and an extensive heating network, it is better to install thermostats with servo drives. Servo drives are located in each perimeter on the automatic coolant supply comb. The role of the servo drive is to automatically submit an order to reduce and add the volume of coolant. Thermostats are placed in each individual room where this type of heating is available. They are interconnected with servos, which receive special control signals.

The controllers check both the floor temperature and the climate temperature and are also equipped with a programming function. It is necessary to control and regulate the temperature if such a floor is used as the main source of heating. Models are made that track 2 coefficients at a time. In this case, the primary information is data on the state of the airspace, and the floor temperature is represented by a secondary indicator.

The heated floor regulator functions as follows: the desired temperature can be programmed on the mechanism panel. If there is a discrepancy even by 1 degree in any direction, a signal is sent to the servomotors, according to which the flow of coolant increases or decreases. Some time later, the temperature situation returns to a normal state.

Automated control of temperature indicators greatly simplifies the control of water structures. Adjust the comb and mechanical valves manually to in this case there is no need.

Installation of a warm water floor temperature sensor. Electrical sensors are mainly located inside the thermostat.

Instructions for installing the thermostat:

  • There should be no other heating sources nearby.
  • Hit sunlight on the body is strictly prohibited.
  • The thermostat can be installed at a height of 100-150 cm from the floor covering.

Temperature meters are mainly external. This electrical mechanism is attached to the edge of a long cable. This electrical appliance must be installed in the floor, the required gap between the wall and the device is at least 50 cm. It is located at the same distance from nearby pipes with coolant. The other end is brought to the regulator and connected to the corresponding electrical terminals.

The installation of the thermal device must be carried out before pouring the screed. For further replacement, it must be placed in a corrugated sleeve. The edge of the corrugated sleeve, which is located in the screed, must be insulated. The other edge fits into the groove on the wall and rests on the thermostat box. This installation is quite labor-intensive, but it allows you to easily replace a faulty sensor.

Manufacturers

Among the most popular companies specializing in products of this kind are the following:

  • Company "Teplolux" very famous today thanks to high quality manufactured products. There is a possibility simplest installation system and manual adjustment of the mechanism. The only disadvantage of this brand is the high cost of materials.
  • If you navigate by optimal ratio prices and quality, then a great example will be the worldwide famous brand Grand Meyer.
  • Energy thermostats have gained great popularity due to their design, which has an LCD display. These electrical appliances work perfectly with various heated floors, thereby saving costs.

Electric installation work must be carried out in accordance with safety regulations. If these rules are neglected, there is a high risk of adverse consequences.

  • Electrical work is carried out only in a de-energized room. If it is possible to disconnect the required line, it is better to disconnect it from the power supply.
  • Connecting the device is only possible in an assembled structure.
  • The thermostat must be kept clean.
  • Exceeding the power and current parameters specified by the manufacturer is strictly prohibited.
  • Never repair the regulator without special skills.
  • If there is old electrical wiring, it will be safer to install a separate line for connecting the heated floor, which is specialized for automation.
  • The best option To regulate the temperature, separate thermostats will be installed in each room.

Underfloor heating systems in Lately have become quite common. They not only increase comfort, but also serve as a good addition to the main heating system. For efficient but economical operation of the heated floor, it is necessary to install a thermostat that turns the system on or off. You can see what it looks like in the photo.

Connecting a thermostat to a heated (water) floor is not necessary, although its use contributes to more economical coolant consumption. As for electrical and infrared systems, the installation of a thermostat is essential for their operation.

Types of thermostats

These devices can be simple or complex. In simple mechanical devices, only one parameter is set - heating temperature. Complex ones have software control and an electronic display; with their help, you can configure the operation of the floor heating system, for example, turning it on and off at certain times.

Connecting an electric heated floor to the controller

Heating elements can be represented by electric mats or infrared film. The installation of an electric heated floor is simple: it is laid either in the thickness of the screed or on it. Lays on top flooring. As for how to connect a heated floor to a thermostat, the work is carried out as follows.

Before choosing the place where the thermostat will be located. There must be a 220 V electrical network next to it. Between the electrical network and the thermostat, it is necessary to leave space for the location of the circuit breaker.

When creating an electric heated floor, you need to provide space for a temperature sensor. It is usually placed near the thermostat. It is unacceptable to cover it with furniture.

If an infrared film acts as a heating element in a heated floor system, then the temperature sensor is installed on its reverse side.

In the case when it is used to heat the floor electrical cable, which is laid in the thickness of the screed, then the temperature sensor is removed from the concrete, placing it together with the inside of the corrugated pipe. As a result, one end of the pipe is located in the thickness of the screed, and the other is brought out to the wall so that, if necessary, the faulty sensor can be removed and replaced without removing the floor covering.

After completing the installation of the electrical system, markings are applied at the place where the thermostat will be installed. The connection diagram for the heated floor controller will help with this. If the device is built-in, then a niche is made at its future location (read also: " "). To install the overhead device, use self-tapping screws and dowels.

Please ensure that the power of the heating element of the underfloor heating system and the thermostat are compatible with each other. The load on the heating element must be less than the maximum power of the thermostat.

Then connect the element wiring to the device terminals. It is imperative to follow the order of connecting the phases; the connection diagram for the heated floor thermostat will help with this. On most devices, the neutral zero is designated by the letter “N”, and the phases by “F” and “L”. In addition, the phases are also indicated by the color of the wires. The zero of these usually has Blue colour, and the phase wire is white, black or brown. Read also: "".

After connecting the floor system to the thermostat, the device is tested:
  • installed on the device minimum temperature;
  • served for meals;
  • turn on the heating toggle switch;
  • smoothly change the temperature, while it is worth paying attention to the fact that when the heating elements turn on, there should be a click;
  • check the floor heating.

Connecting a water floor system to a thermostat

Connecting a heated floor to a thermostat in this case is not necessary, but this device allows you to save on coolant. In hydronic systems, the thermostat controls the flow of water. Sensors for water floors, as well as for electric ones, can be simple or complex (programmable). Thermal sensors in water systems usually measure the temperature of the air in the room. You can see what such devices look like in the photo.
When installing a water heated floor, the temperature sensor is fixed at a height of about 100 centimeters; it can be placed next to the thermostat. But we must take into account that there should be no additional heating sources near the sensor.

After it has been installed, wires are drawn from it to the thermostat. You can buy sensors to which information is transmitted via radio, but in this case you need to make sure that the signal has good passability.

After the underfloor heating system has been started, you need to place a regular thermometer next to the temperature sensor and set the required heating temperature on the regulator. The underfloor heating system should maintain stable performance for several hours. After testing the heated floor for normal performance, you can use them. The thermostat makes it possible to set the required temperature and thereby save on coolant.

There is nothing complicated about how to connect a floor heating regulator. But you need to follow the instructions exactly and follow the scheme for performing this work. In addition, the connection must be made with the electricity turned off - this is required by safety regulations. As a result of installing a heated floor system, within a few hours you will notice how much more comfortable the house has become.

In underfloor heating control systems, the role of the control unit is played by a thermostat - a device that processes information received from a temperature sensor and, in accordance with a given mode, turns the floor heating on or off.

With an electric floor heating system, thermostats are required to be installed. Installing a thermostat in a water heated floor system is not necessary. But, if the floor is an additional heating measure, and the temperature of the coolant at the entrance to the circuit is above 50 degrees, installing a thermostat will solve the problem of room overheating.

Types of thermostats

Thermostats for any underfloor heating system can be:

  • programmable, working according to a pre-established, including complex program;
  • without software control.

Changing modes on non-programmable thermostats is done manually, using a rotary control (mechanical adjustment) or buttons (electronic digital).

Programmable thermostats are more expensive and more difficult to control, but they can save significant energy resources by turning off floor heating or lowering its temperature at night or during the day when heating is not needed.

Mechanical non-programmable thermostats are controlled by simply turning the knob to the specified level. Electronic digital - using buttons, touch panel or remote control. The price of non-programmable thermostats is lower due to the extremely simple logical part.

According to the installation method, thermostats are:

  • built-in - they are installed in a special recess in the wall;
  • overhead - they are attached to the wall using screws or self-tapping screws.

The choice of installation type is a matter of taste, but it does not affect functionality.

Temperature sensors

The sensors are a thermocouple made of two wires that changes the resistance of the circuit when heated. The wires are connected to the corresponding terminals of the thermostat. Sensors are:

  • remote;
  • built-in

Remote sensors are divided into floor or air temperature sensors. The first ones are installed simultaneously with the installation of heating elements directly under finishing coat, the second - in a place convenient for measuring air temperature. Built-in sensors are located right inside the thermostat. Some thermostat models have both types of sensors.

In the bathroom and kitchen it is better to install thermostats with a floor temperature sensor - the air in these rooms can be heated by the stove or hot water, the floor will remain cold.

Connecting a thermostat to electric heated floors

Electric heated floors are made using a high-resistance heating cable or infrared film. They are laid on a specially prepared base, after which the floor is screeded and the finishing coating is laid.

Thermostat connection technology:

  1. Before installing the floor, it is necessary to determine the location where the thermostat will be located and plan its connection to the electrical network. To connect the thermostat, a voltage of 220 V is required alternating current, that is, you can connect it to a regular outlet or to a separate cable through a circuit breaker.
  2. When laying the floor, choose a location for the temperature sensor. It should be located near the thermostat, on an area of the floor free from furniture.

  1. For infrared floors, the sensor is placed on the reverse side of the film and connected to the wires going to the thermostat.
  2. For cable heated floors poured with concrete screed, the sensor must be placed in a metal corrugated pipe, insulating it from concrete. This measure is necessary for easy removal and replacement of the sensor in the event of its failure. A sensor embedded in concrete cannot be easily removed. The pipe is led to the wall on which the thermostat is installed.
  3. After laying the floor, begin installing the regulator. In the selected location, prepare a recess in the wall according to the dimensions of the built-in thermostat housing or make markings for attaching the overhead thermostat. Remove the front panel and secure the regulator in place.
  4. Compare the permissible switching power of the thermostat contacts with the power of the heating cable or infrared floor. If it is less, an additional magnetic starter with a coil rating of ~220V is installed. In this case, the heating cable circuit is connected to a 220 V power supply through the contacts of the magnetic starter, and the starter coil circuit is connected to the output from the thermostat.
  5. If the switching power of the thermostat contacts is sufficient, then the heating cable is connected directly to the output from the thermostat.
  6. Connect the sensor circuit to the terminals specified in the passport or instructions.
  7. Connect the 220 V power supply to the appropriate terminals: they are usually designated as L or F - phase and N - zero. Phasing must be observed. You can determine it by the color of the wire: if the cable is new and laid according to the rules, then the phase wire has black, brown or white insulation, and the neutral wire has blue insulation. If you connect the thermostat to a common outlet, the phase is found using a voltage indicator or an indicator screwdriver.

  • Check the functionality of the thermostat:
  • 220 V power supply;
  • Set the minimum temperature value on the thermostat;
  • Turn on the floor heating with a toggle switch;
  • Change the temperature mode to maximum by turning the knob or using buttons - a click should be heard, notifying that the heating circuit is closed.

Thermostats for water floor heating systems are a device for controlling a servo drive that regulates the flow of coolant into the heating circuit. They can be either electronically or manually controlled, while such control systems usually use sensors for measuring air temperature rather than floor temperature, due to the high inertia of heating.

  1. The sensor is installed at a height of approximately 100-120 cm above the floor level on the wall, possibly next to the thermostat. The wall should not be subjected to additional heating from heating radiators.
  2. Install the power supply circuits of the thermostat and the sensor circuits.
  3. If a thermostat with electrical connection with a servo drive is used, lay a cable to its control circuits.
  4. When using a radio-controlled controller, adjust it.
  5. The operation of the control system is checked using an external thermometer: the desired mode is set on the regulator and the temperature is measured at the location where the sensor is installed for several hours. The temperature should not fluctuate significantly.

All work on connecting electrical circuits must be carried out when the circuit breaker– this is the key to your safety!

Today, “warm” floors are becoming increasingly widespread as an alternative to traditional convection additional heating of rooms. And if in country houses the most popular cable systems, then the owners of city apartments prefer to use film, infrared coatings.

However, to automate and increase energy efficiency of work, operation of any electrical systems warm floor is impractical. Available today various systems control the temperature regime of the heated floor, which you can simply connect yourself.

To connect, you will need a minimum of tools that are usually used when performing electrical work:

  • Screwdriver Set;
  • side cutters with insulated handles;
  • indicator screwdriver;
  • pliers;
  • Maybe .

The sequence of installation and connection of the thermostatic device is as follows:

  1. Before installing the floor, it is necessary to determine the location where the thermostat will be located, to which it is necessary to supply mains power with a voltage of 220.0 volts. Typically, a regular power outlet is used for connection.
  2. When laying the cable, determine the installation location of the temperature sensor. The temperature sensor should be located on a functionally important area of the floor of the living room, free from furniture. To reduce the length of the connecting wires, the sensor should be placed in close proximity to the control unit.
  3. When installing floors with a cable heater, which is poured concrete screed the wire connecting the control and measuring unit to the temperature sensor must be laid in corrugated pipe. Thanks to this, the temperature sensor can be easily removed and replaced if it fails.
  4. When laying a film heater, the temperature sensor is simply glued with special tape to the underside of the film.
  5. After completing the installation of the heating element, install the regulator in place and connect the sensors to it. In order to avoid punching grooves in the wall when laying a film heater, the wire along the wall can be laid in a special decorative trim.
  6. In the case of independent installation of a heated floor, when the heating cable was purchased separately from the thermostatic device, when connecting it, it is necessary to determine the maximum power consumed by the heater. If it is less than that allowed for switching by thermostat contacts, then the cable is connected directly to the device. If the heater power exceeds the maximum permissible switching power, then it is necessary to install an intermediate magnetic starter, the contacts of which will turn the cable on and off.
  7. Connecting the cable to and the temperature sensor to the thermostat, and the temperature control unit itself to the network, is carried out in accordance with the installation instructions for the specific model.
  8. After connection heating cable and the wires of the remote sensor are carried out test run devices.

Test sequence

The advantage and comfort of using heated floors is unlikely to be fully experienced if the installation and connection of the temperature control device is carried out incorrectly or with defects. In this case, trial activation and verification are a very important step.

They are carried out under the control of the home owner, who must be sure that the electric floor heating system can subsequently be left unattended.

The check and test run sequence is as follows:

  • check the reliability of contact connections;
  • the unit is supplied with supply voltage from a household network with a voltage of 220.0 volts;
  • set the minimum temperature value on the control panel of the device;
  • turn on the toggle switch to supply voltage to the heating element;
  • set the maximum temperature regime, and a characteristic click should be heard in the device, indicating the closure of the switching contacts;
  • During the day, the reliability of operation in various modes is checked.

Device and connection diagram

Connecting an electronic thermostat to a hydronic floor heating system

When using a thermostat to control a heated floor system, it controls the temperature and acts as a switch for the servo that controls the hot water supply. General scheme Installation of the thermostat is similar to the sequence of installing a thermostat for an electric heated floor. However, there are certain nuances here.

The sequence of installation operations for a water heating system is as follows:

  1. The remote temperature sensor is installed in close proximity to the control unit, at a height of 1.0...1.2 meters above the floor level.
  2. Lay circuits to power the thermostat and connect the temperature sensor to the device;
  3. If electrical control of the servo drive is provided with a wired connection directly from the device controller, lay a cable from the servo drive to the thermostat;
  4. If the servo drive is controlled wirelessly, adjust the radio control unit;
  5. Checking the temperature in various areas of the living room is carried out using a conventional thermometer. To do this, set the thermostat to the desired temperature mode and after 2…3 hours measure the temperature near the device and in the place furthest from it. The thermometer readings should have minimal differences.

In conclusion, it should be noted that the majority modern models thermostats are universal devices. They can be successfully used not only for heated floors, but also for automating the operation of electric boilers.

If there is an infrared heater, the thermostat performs the functions of monitoring the set temperature parameters for a certain time. With its help, you can schedule preheating of the room, minimize the likelihood of a fire and create a comfortable and cozy atmosphere in the house. To do this, it is enough to know how to connect a thermostat to an infrared heater.

What is a thermostat, purpose, principle of operation

The functioning of the thermostat is based on a cyclic process of closing and opening electrical circuit. Microclimate regulation according to this parameter is based on signals sent by the temperature sensor. Let's look at this process in more detail:

  • When a given temperature threshold is reached, the resistance of the internal sensor increases.
  • The thermostat opens the electrical circuit.
  • As the sensor cools down, the resistance increases again.
  • The thermostat starts up again, but no longer opens, but closes the electrical circuit.

This cycle continues for a specified time and allows us to talk about automatic installation temperature regime in a room equipped with an infrared heater. Its advantage is that it heats surrounding objects, and the thermostat makes it easier to control this process.

Types of thermostats

Despite the universal nature of the operating principle of the thermostat, there are several classifications for these auxiliary devices that determine the algorithm for their connection, control and configuration. Thus, according to the mechanism of action, thermostats can be divided into two large types:

  • mechanical;
  • electronic.

Mechanical thermostats are simple and reliable

Reliable and easy to manage mechanical thermostats remind by appearance a plastic box with a lever that controls the temperature parameters. Adding convenience to operation is the presence of a scale, the divisions of which are marked in increments of 1 degree. Inside the device there is a sensitive membrane, the heating or cooling of which forms the basis of climate control. The popularity of these models has its own reasons:

  • the connection diagram does not require special skills and is accessible even to a beginner;
  • simple design is the key to durability;
  • relatively low cost compared to electronic analogues.

Electronic thermostats are more modern, but require a special approach

Key Features electronic thermostats are as follows:

  • displaying information about settings and ongoing processes on the display screen;
  • need for power supply;
  • push-button or touch control panels;
  • the ability to program climate indicators for a day or for the whole week;
  • remote control via mobile application;
  • connection of additional climate control devices(for example, heated floors).

To increase service life electronic device Avoid direct contact with it sun rays, and also take care of the absence of drafts in the room.

Connection options

Before you start connecting the thermostat, you need to make sure that conditions are favorable for its operation:

  • heater power does not exceed 3000 W;
  • the thermostat will be installed at a sufficient distance from the device;
  • the thermostat housing will not be exposed to sunlight;
  • The humidity in the rooms is normal.

The standard thermostat connection diagram fits into the following algorithm:

If it is necessary to equip two adjacent heating devices with a thermostat, then use a parallel connection option, in which two wires also come from the panel to the thermostat, and at the output a wiring is formed to each of the heaters.

To connect two heating devices the diagram will look like this

Connection nuances depending on the heater model

The heater model will determine the specifics of connecting the thermostat.

Ballu is one of the most famous manufacturers thermostats

Thus, the instructions from the manufacturer Ballu contain the following important additions:

  • the total power of the heaters should not exceed the maximum power of the thermostat;
  • a distance of at least 1.5 meters must be maintained from the floor to the device;
  • a layer of insulation is placed under the thermostat, and it outer surface It is prohibited to cover it with anything to ensure unhindered air exchange.

For infrared heaters of the “warm floor” system, thermostats with a remote sensor are used, which imposes its own characteristics during installation and subsequent connection:

  • the thermostat is located no higher than 0.5 meters from the floor level;
  • its design has 6 terminals: a pair for “phase” and “neutral”, a pair for IR floor heaters and a pair for wires from a remote sensor;
  • no insulation lining is required, and masking with curtains, etc. will not affect the operation of the device in any way (unlike options with a built-in temperature sensor).

While studying self-installation thermostat, care should be taken to comply with basic safety rules:

  • the grounding loop is made of a conductor of a certain thickness and with low resistance;
  • the best location for the thermostat is a wall;
  • in one room - one device;
  • it should be left open, without masking with fabric, curtains, interior items, etc.

Thus, infrared heater, equipped with a thermostat, allows you to save energy, warm up the room in advance and facilitate the climate control process. It is important to connect the thermostat correctly to heating device. Strict compliance with the instructions guarantees safe and long-term operation of the device.
