Vastu Shastra tips. Services and prices Scope of Vastu Shastra

The information below is not a guide to action. I'm including it so you can get acquainted with some basics. Vastu Shastra . This is a very complex science; I do not recommend rushing to put information from the Internet into practice. Although this does not mean that you cannot experiment, for a deeper study and application of Vastu, I advise you to turn to practitioners and primary sources.

1. Source of Vastu in Vedic scriptures:

The subtleties of architectural art are presented in the most detail in the Puranas and Agamas, many of which contain entire sections devoted to the classification of buildings and structural elements.

Skanda - Purana: City planning.

Agni Purana:Residences

Vayu - purana: Temples

Garuda - Purana: Residences and temples

Narada - Purana: Orientation of walls in the house, location water supply systems, lakes, temples.

Manasara: City walls, palaces, monuments.

Vishwakarma-prokash: Residences, palaces

Brihat Samhita : Plantations. Chapters 53 and 56 in Brihat Samhita completely devoted to the topic of housing and temple architecture, finding water and constructing water reservoirs. The technology for preparing “diamond glue” (an analogue of modern cement mortar) and its use in the construction of residential buildings and churches is described in detail.

Matsya Purana: 18 sages, experts in vastu, are mentioned.

Sthapatya Veda is a section of the Atharva Veda, one of the four main Vedas. This section is based on the concept of a holistic primary source of the universe, according to which all forms of creation arose from transcendental consciousness, and this process completely embraces the mind and body.

2. Scope of Vastu Shastra.

As can be seen from the information given above, Vastu Shastra is a science that regulates the entire field of construction - from small architectural forms to the planning of cities and even entire countries. Vastu Shastra prescriptions apply to all stages of construction: selection of a plot of land, internal layout of the building, its orientation in space, proportions of all dimensions, choice of color scheme, and much more.

3 . What is Vastu Shastra based on?

3.1. Vastu Purusha.

The space of any room according to Vastu is a living organism. Its personification is Vastu Purusha. The science of Vastu considers the Earth as a living organism. Vastu Shastra refers to the energy residing in the Earth as"Vastu Purusha", where "Purusha" means subtle energy, which penetrates the Earth, and “Vastu” is the material body of the Earth, which has evolved from this subtle energy.

Note: I know from experience that it is quite difficult for modern people, far from a subtle understanding of the ancient Vedic culture, to understand who Vastu Purusha and other characters of ancient myths are, and how it is all connected with our reality. For them, I want to explain that ancient people perceived all the forces acting in the world personally, that is, as certain individuals endowed with certain qualities. We now tend to perceive the same forces as some impersonal laws of physics. Essentially, these are just two different models of perceiving reality.

About who Vastu Purusha is, there is such legend: When Brahma, the supreme demigod, received the power to create from the Supreme Deity, he first created many auspicious and inauspicious beings. Having done this, Brahma and the other demigods tried to create an aura, but instead the formless demon Vastu Purusha appeared. He was the embodiment of unbridled chaotic energy. He had to be curbed, because... he threatened the entire universe. Brahma and the other demigods threw him on the ground and sat astride him. Being thus pressed by Brahma in the middle and many enlightened demigods and sages on the sides, Vastu Purusha became completely purified and was therefore declared to be the Mahabhagavata, i.e. A great zealot for God.

The purified Vastu Purusha surrendered himself entirely to Brahma and said: “Sir, how can I serve you?” And Brahma replied: “I want you to stay on Earth and become the master of all buildings and structures.”
After Vastu Purush agreed to serve Brahma, he asked: “In the Golden (Satya), Silver (Greta) and Bronze (Dvarpara) centuries, people will build their homes according to the laws of Vastu and will faithfully serve God, Vishnu, and I will also fall from their gifts, but in Kali Yuga (in our days) people will build houses in which I will suffer, and they will not bring gifts either to the Great Lord Vishnu or to me! What will I eat?" And Brahma replied: “If the people of Kali Yuga squeeze you into uncomfortable rooms and do not make you offerings according to your taste, you can eat them yourself.”

IN myth about Vastu Purusha and those 45 deities that are located on or near it, recorded knowledge about the different energies that are manifested in our world in one form or another. Moreover, this myth tells us about the connection between the solar system and the properties of the atmosphere with the human condition. It’s just that the form of presenting the material in previous centuries was created in such a way that would be understandable to ancient people, and, moreover, would survive centuries.

The basis of the plan of any building is Vastu purusha mandala with 8×8 mesh (64 equal dimensions I - used for temple construction) or 9Х9 (81 equal dimensions e - used for residential and public buildings). In modern terminology this can be called material energy grid.

These squares are architectural geometric formulas that copy the subtle matter of the Universe into a visual material form.

Vastu Purusha is the personified energy contained in Vastu, i.e. e energy contained in Matter. The energy lines of the mandala are called meridians. Their intersection points are sensitive and important and they should not be occupied by heavy objects or structural elements of the building (walls, partitions, ceilings, etc.). But especially important are the points called marmas(shown as bold dots in the figure on the left). They do not limit the territory, which is called Sconce x mastan. Brahmastan is not a flat figure, but a three-dimensional one. What is shown in the figure on the left is the projection of Brahmastan onto a plane.

Vastu Purush feels good in a house where there is harmony of space according to the principles of Vastu. In order for Vastu Purush to feel comfortable in the room, it is necessary that all parts of his body are indoors, and marmah did not have structural elements of a building or heavy pieces of furniture. Otherwise the energy balance is disturbed, this leads to disruption of the energy at home and, as a consequence, to corresponding problems in the lives of household members.

3.2. Energies of planets and primary elements.

Vastu Shastra proceeds from the fact that a person is inextricably linked with the world around him.According to Vastu, the shapes of objects create space. All objects are not just matter, and space is not emptiness. All this is energy-information structures that are filled with energy from the outside - these are energiesSun, Space and Earth.

Vastu Shastra is based on the laws of harmony of the universe, which are manifested in planetary (cosmic) and temporary effects on human physiology. For this reason, the science of Vastu is closely related to Vedic astrology(Jyotish) and Ayurveda("Life Science").

Each side of the world corresponds to a certain energy , therefore, each direction has its own interpretation in Vastu Shastra (Modern scientific research confirms this: there is a connection between the activity of various parts of the brain and their orientation to the cardinal points):

each side of the world (different sectors of the house) is influenced by one of them planets. Each planet in turn regulates a certain area of human life. As recent scientific research in the field of neurophysiology has shown, there is a deep and complex connection between various parts of the brain (thalamus, hypothalamus, basal ganglia, etc.) and their cosmic “doubles” - the sun, moon and other planets. In our subtle bodies there are also “twins” of the planets of our solar system. Planets influence our body, our house, our body through the house and the events of our life.

The 4 main cardinal directions (north, south, west, east) and the center are also influenced by 5 primary elements- fire, air, earth, water and ether. According to Vedic knowledge, the primary elements are the most subtle structures in the universe; everything in the material world consists of these 5 primary elements in various combinations and proportions. (If you want to deeply study what the primary elements are, I advise you to read the book “Healing with Form, Energy and Light” (Tendzin Wangyal Rinpoche). Excerpts from it are presented in my article Primary elements of creation ).

*(About the difference between the “northern” and “southern” energy hemispheres)

various directions and zones of the house are controlled by certain intelligent higher forces invisible to us (nowadays they are usually called energies, in Hinduism they are called demigods- Kali, Durga, Lakshmi, etc.).

4. Lecture by Dr. Prabat Poddar.

In this video Dr. Prabat Poddar, co-architect of the world famous Auroville, author of the Unity Temple project, specialist and consultant in Vastu Geobiology, who has devoted more than 30 years to researching and studying this ancient knowledge of India , tells the main provisions, key points of Vastu science. The lecture will be very interesting for those who are getting acquainted with Vastu for the first time, as well as for those who are purposefully studying this science.

Vastu translated from Sanskrit means space, Shastra means knowledge. Vastu Shastra- ancient Vedic science about the correct construction of living and working spaces in accordance with the laws of nature. Created by 18 Maharishis in a state of deep meditation, direct understanding of the laws of our Universe, including Vishmamitra, Bhrugu, Atri, Kashyapa and Vasishta, this science has more than 10 thousand years of tradition. For thousands of years, this knowledge was passed on orally, from teacher to student, and later, about 5,000 years ago, it was written down in the Vedas. Four Vedas have survived to this day, and the uniqueness of Vastu lies in the fact that information about it is contained in all four Vedas!

The beauty of Vastu science is that it is based on clear and unchanging principles. This knowledge is universal and works everywhere!

Vastu Shastra is based on the laws of nature and it offers us ways to understand the relationship between humans and the environment, and also teaches that everything is interconnected and affects our well-being. There are constant flows of energy around us that move completely logically and naturally, in accordance with the influence of heavenly bodies, planets, electromagnetic attraction of the planet, etc. The existence of this fundamental order has now been proven by the most advanced science - quantum physics, which believes that the Universe is a huge compound in which all things are connected to each other. And in ancient times this understanding formed the basis for all natural and spiritual sciences.

When we build our homes, without understanding these relationships, we block the various flows responsible for prosperity, health, family well-being, etc. Once you bring your living and working space into harmony with Nature, you will almost immediately enjoy the results, without any effort bringing joy, tranquility, wealth and well-being into your life in all areas of life.

By reading the parameters of a house, plot, or apartment, Vastu explains the impact of these characteristics on those living in a given home, the positive and negative aspects that they carry, and offers correction methods to eliminate the negative impact.

Mechanisms of influence of Vastu Shastra

Vastu, being a link between man and nature, takes into account the influence of several aspects: energy flows, eight directions, primary elements, deities, planets, stars.

Primary elements

The entire universe consists of the main five elements - fire, water, earth, space (ether) and air. When buildings for housing and work are built without taking into account the influence of these elements, then a person cannot fully live and work in such a room.

From each of the basic elements we receive a special energy given by the infinite power of the universe and when we follow the principles of Vastu, it brings us the “Three Ps” - peace, prosperity and progress. The task of Vastu is to reduce the severity of the problems facing a person due to the vibrations of the five great elements that are strengthened in the human body, as well as in the external and internal structures of buildings and structures.

Primary elements and form

According to Vastu rules, a house, plot, or apartment must have a square or rectangular shape (shape of the Earth element). The harmonious element of the Earth gives qualities: stability, strength, confidence, solidity, wealth, fertility. The correct shape and correct location of the house on the site brings its owners health, money, harmonious relationships, etc. (subject to compliance with other laws). If the shape is rectangular, then it is important that the long side of the rectangle is along the north-south axis. Then the unfriendly elements (fire and water, earth and air) will be at maximum distance from each other and there will be no conflict between them.
For example, if the site has an expansion in the southwest, then the excessive Earth element will bring laziness, idleness, and dumbness.

The shape of the Fire element is a triangle. If a house has many corners or a triangular shape, then the element of Fire and its qualities prevail in such a house, life in such a house will be restless, there will be no stability, quarrels and aggression are possible. If the plot or house has an extension in the southeast, then the excessive Fire element brings quarrels, discord, and violence.

The round shape is associated with the element Air, which is characterized by great mobility. In such a house there will also be no stability, constant changes in feelings, manifestations of impatience, restlessness, anxiety, difficulties in making plans and relationships are possible. On the other hand, the round shape is suitable for public buildings, temples, things will move in them, there will be no stagnation.

The semicircular shape corresponds to the element Water. The properties of water are fluidity, flow, expansion, tranquility, reflection of light in the form of energy.
An excessively strong water element in the house, through its connection with the mind, causes an excess of feelings and emotions, can reduce the strength of the fire element, which can make women active and men passive, only girls can be born in a family, and the production of the hormone testosterone in men decreases.

Only in the ground can a seed grow, turn into a tree and bear fruit. The seed will burn in the fire, the air will simply carry it away, and the water will wash it away.

Planets and stars

Everything on Earth is under the influence of nine planets - Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, Rahu and Ketu, and every house, as well as a person, is under the influence of these ruling planets. Each planet has its own vibrations and its own zone of influence in the house, and on a subtle level these vibrations are millions of times stronger than ours. When these vibrations enter a home with correct Vastu, they either intensify (if the vibrations are favorable) or, on the contrary, dissipate (if these vibrations are not favorable). Thus, the house acts as a buffer between the planets and the person.

All of the above also applies to the zodiac constellations (nakshatras), the influence of which is also taken into account by the science of Vastu.

A person’s horoscope determines the house (apartment) in which a person lives or builds. For example, a weak Sun in the horoscope of the owner of the house usually corresponds to Vastu errors in the East. By correcting the mistakes of the East, the quality of the Sun in the horoscope improves.

As a rule, where Rahu is located in the natal chart, there is a bathroom or toilet in the house. The position of the Moon or Ketu determines the position of the main entrance to the house.

If the plot or house has an extension in the southeast, then the addition in the area of influence of Venus leads to the immoral character of the owner of the house.

Two streams

Vastu Shastra considers the influence of two flows of energy, one flow of organic energy moves from the north 24 hours a day, the other flow of pranic energy moves at sunrise from the east. Each of these streams has its own qualities and properties. If Vastu rules are followed, then these flows bring harmony, well-being, prosperity, happiness, and good luck to the home (office).

For Russia and countries located in the same latitudes, there is one feature of Vastu - a weak pranic axis, because the Sun rises in the southeast in winter and there may be no pranic energy at all, because of this, for our band it is very important to further strengthen the energies of the east .

For example, mistakes in the north of a house or apartment (lack of windows, presence of a toilet, bathroom, kitchen, stairs, dark room, etc.) lead to cancer, allergies, hormonal disorders and other diseases of women living in this house (the owner of the house is especially susceptible this influence), the material well-being of the family or company suffers when it comes to the office.

Deities - Vastu Purusha

In each space, according to the teachings of Vastu Shastra, there is a deity - Vastu Purusha (VP). Every city, village, house, apartment, office, plot has its own Vastu Purusha. For houses, apartments, offices, plots, the VP is located with its head in the northeast corner, face down. For cities and villages, the head of the VP is directed to the east. There are sensitive marma points on the body of the VP (highlighted in red in the figure) and it is not recommended to place foundations, walls, wells, or heavy furniture at these points, otherwise we simply block the flow of positive cosmic energy into our home/area.

According to legend, VP was originally an evil demon and at some point the gods and demigods pinned him to the ground by standing on him and held him until their pure energy turned VP into a deity. In those places of Vastu Purush where he was pressed by gods and demigods, the qualities of the corresponding deities appear. And when there are Vastu errors in an apartment or house that destroy the matrix of deities, these deities turn into demons.

You can influence deities indirectly. For example, the fire god Agni is located in the southeast, so we place a stove or stove there and do not place toilets and bathrooms so as not to extinguish or pollute the fire in the southeast. Without air, fire cannot burn, so it is important not to load the northwest so that the air element supports the fire element. In this way, comfortable conditions are created for the god Agni, the entire matrix of deities of the southeast and the manifestation of their positive qualities.

Ancient scriptures say that Ayurveda leads to Kaya Kalpa (transformation of the body), Yoga leads to Mana Kalpa (transformation of the mind) and Vastu Shastra shows the path to Bhagya Kalpa (transformation of luck).

You can order a consultation on Vastu.

Vedic sages created the science of building cities, temples, dams, palaces, houses and other construction projects. This teaching is called Vastu Shastra. The word Vastu comes from the word Vasu. Vasu means earth. Also the word 'You' means to live. When building houses on earth, Vastu Shastra takes into account not only strength, beauty and convenience, but also that the energy of nature has a beneficial effect on the residents of the house, and a person can receive cosmic energy and the blessing of the gods.

The founders of Vastu Shastra are considered to be two sage architects. These are Vishwakarma and Mayadanava. Vishwakarma belongs to the Virgos, he built palaces, parks, cities, chariots for the gods. He is called the architect of the Universe. Vishwakarma was the son of Lord Brahma. The main text of Vishwakarma is considered to be ‘Vishwakarma Shilpashastra’. Ancient texts speak of his great achievements in the field of construction. One of the texts describes the events of the war between the Devas and the Asuras. In this battle, the Devas were commanded by King Indra and he killed the head of the Asuras named Vritra. King Indra was very proud of his victory and asked Vishwakarma to build a palace larger than all the palaces he had ever built... Also in the Ramayana it is said that Vishwakarma built the golden city of Lanka. Valmiki described in detail how Prince Rama was delighted with the beauty of the island of Lanka. All these palaces and parks were built according to the rules of Vastu Shastra. Therefore, no matter how many years ago the actions in the Ramayana and the wars between the Devas and Asuras took place, so many years ago people live according to the rules of Vastu Shastra. Even now, engineers, architects, jewelers and people involved in the field of art and creativity pray to Vishwakarma. Mayadanava belongs to the Asuras and he mainly built cities, palaces and houses for the Asuras.

Mayadanava expounded his teachings in the text ‘Mayamata’. I heard a legend that talks about the power of Mayadanava. This legend describes the story of how it was difficult for Saturn to punish people who lived in houses built according to all the rules of Mayamata. Therefore Saturn burned some of Mayamata's leaves. Mayadanava had a daughter named Mandodari. King of Lanka, Ravana was married to Mandodari. It turns out that Mayamata's text was composed by the father of Ravana's wife.

There is a story in the Mahabharata where during a war in the Khandava forest, a demon named Mayadanava was saved by Krishna and Arjuna. As a token of gratitude, Mayadanava built a magical palace of illusion at Indraprasta for Yudistir (Arjun's brother). This palace was called Mayasaba. In one part of this palace the floor looked like a pool, and in another part the pool looked like a floor. In Mayamata it is written in detail how to perform rituals and sacrifices at the time of the start of construction work and housewarming. Some researchers believe that the buildings of the Mayan civilization in America were built according to the guidance of the teachings of Mayadanava.
There was a time when a cruel demon named Andakasura caused suffering and torment to ascetics and sages. Seeing how the ascetics suffered from the actions of Andakasur, Lord Shiva decided to kill him. The war between Lord Shiva and Andakasura continued for many years and after a difficult battle the demon died. During this long war, Lord Shiva began to sweat and drops of sweat fell to the ground. From one drop of sweat a child was born. This child looked very cruel and fed on the blood of a demon. He began to grow at a rapid pace and swallowed everything he found around him. The gods saw how quickly this child grew and covered more and more territory of the earth.

The universe is controlled by the energies of the five elements. Due to the size of this child, the earth could not receive the energy of these elements. At that moment, all the gods gathered and asked for help from Lord Brahma. Lord Brahma instructed the gods to kill the boy and save the earth. 45 gods attacked this child from all sides. He was lying on the ground on his stomach with his head to the North-East and his feet to the South-West. The gods stood on his body and pressed so that he went underground. At this moment, the child began to ask Lord Brahma for help. Lord Brahma heard his request and took pity on him, saying: “You can be in any part of the fenced area.” People will pray to you. According to your desire, you will be able to please the people who live on a certain piece of land and you will also be able to curse them and bring them suffering and failure. The child became very pleased with these words of Lord Brahma and he, in turn, promised Lord Brahma to take care of people. This child was named Vastu Purusha. Since then people have been praying and forgiving the blessings of Vastu Purush. Vastu Purusha Mandala is the entire territory of the earth where Vastu Purusha lies. It is assumed that it is located on every piece of land. 45 gods attacked Vastu Purush. They stood on different parts of Vastu Purush's body and pressed him to the ground. Therefore, before building a house, it is customary to make prayers and sacrifices to these gods. The ancient text Mayamata gives different diagrams of how to determine the locations of these gods.

The simplest pattern is called Pita Mandala; it consists of 9 even squares. Also, the land is divided into 16, 64 and 81 squares and different Vastu Purush Mandala schemes are drawn up. These squares are used to determine exactly where this or that part of the house should be built. These squares are also used to determine in which place the sacrifice should be made to which god. In fact, in the modern world such sacrifices are not made as written in ancient texts. This is done in a simple way.

The question arises: how relevant is it to apply the rules of Vastu Shastra for building houses in the modern world? Currently, a person buys a small piece of land and wants to build himself the ideal home of his dreams according to all the rules of Vastu. Even if he can build such a house, taking into account all possible rules, how can he control what happens on the neighboring plots? Previously, people did not build houses as close to each other as they do now. Previously, people built houses so that there was a long distance from the house to the boundaries of their plot. Nowadays people are building houses on small plots. The northeast corner is considered the place of the gods. Let's say you keep your northeast corner clean and you think your home is receiving full energy. In this situation, it is also important what is located on this side in the neighboring area. Perhaps your neighbor has a toilet closer to the Northeast corner of your property. If your neighbor's toilet is very close to the northeast corner of your property, this is considered an unfavorable sign. Not just the toilet, there could be anything there. For example, a staircase, a shed, a garage or a kitchen. Therefore, a person cannot perfectly build a house according to all Vastu rules. In my opinion, one cannot hope for this too much. You just need to try to avoid gross violations.

It is assumed that the world is built on the basis of the energies of the five elements. The ancient sages called these elements Pancha Maha Butha. Man is made up of these five elements. Patavai (earth), Apo (water), Tejo (fire), Vayu (air), Akasa (space). According to Ayurveda, it is believed that it is important for a person to be in harmony with the energies of these five elements. We use all five fingers to put food in our mouth. The human hand has five fingers and they represent the Pancha Maha Butha. Vastupurusha also wants to eat. It feeds on the energy of these five elements. The energies of the five elements enter him through his mouth. His head is in the North-East. Therefore, the North-Eastern part of the land should be free. This is the first and most important rule of Vastu Shastra. Vastu Purusha cannot function normally when there is no free space in the North-East. His feet are in the South-West. It is believed that the energy that enters from the North of the East accumulates in the South-West. Therefore, here the land should be slightly higher than in the North-East.

Vastu Purusha is satisfied when the North-East and South-West areas of the land are kept clean. Since the energies of the five elements come from the Northeast, this side is considered ideal for prayer and meditation. In the middle of the house is the navel of Vastu Purush. This place is called Brahmasthana. It is not recommended to build walls and place heavy furniture in the middle of the house to enclose Brahmasthan. There is an assumption that Vastu Purusha breathes through Brahmasthan. We often see how in some houses there is not even a roof over the brahmasthana.

In astrology there is such a concept as Kala Purusha. Kala Purusha is the Cosmic Man. Different parts of the body are divided according to zodiac signs. For example, the sign Aries is responsible for the head, Taurus for the face, Gemini for the neck and hands and so on.. Like Kala Purusha in astrology, there is Vastu Purusha in the field of Vastu. In a person's house, Vastu Purusha lies on the ground on his stomach with his head facing North-East. Since, at the direction of Lord Brahma, 45 gods stood on the body of Vastu Purusha, these gods are responsible for the corresponding parts of the body of Vastu Purusha. Also, different energies accumulate in different directions of the world. The ancient sages created a teaching on how to build cities, temples, palaces, houses, dams and other structures so that these buildings would bring benefits, health and joy to people. There are many rules in Vastu teachings. As far as I know, it is very difficult to build an ideal house according to all Vastu principles. The main task is to minimize the harmful influences on Vastu Purush.

This information may only be useful for those who are planning to buy a plot to build a house. A person cannot radically change the location of parts of his house. However, it is possible that some serious defects can be corrected without much difficulty. For example, as I said above, the North-East side of the site should be empty and clean without any buildings. There should not be a garage, a shed, a toilet and a bathtub, and so on.. There may be a well, a pond, an aquarium. If a line is drawn between the North-East corner of the house and the North-East corner of the land itself, these bodies of water should not fall on this line.

Astrology and Vastu are closely related. They cannot exist without each other. There are astrologers who can tell about a person’s fate by looking at his house. The natal chart shows when a person is supposed to go through certain life moments. A true Vastu expert can diagnose existing problems by looking at a person's home. A person is born into this world with a certain destiny. The natal chart shows the periods when he has to go through problems. During this period, a person has to live in a certain house where there are gross violations of Vastu. During this period, no help comes to him. There are times when a person is approaching a good planetary period, at that moment he may accidentally meet a Vastu expert. Thanks to this meeting, a person will receive advice on how to correct defects in their home. And also, for some reason, a person may accidentally change his place of residence. When everything is going smoothly in a person’s life, he cannot live in a house where there are gross violations of Vastu. So, in a person’s life, karma, natal chart, vastu are interconnected and intertwined.

Each cardinal direction is ruled by certain planets

East → Sun
Southeast → Venus
South → Mars
Southwest → Rahu
West → Saturn
North-West → Moon
North → Mercury
Northeast →Jupiter and Ketu

East: The East represents the Sun. In the morning the Sun rises from the East. A man wakes up from the rays of sunlight. The sun gives us vital energy. The sun represents activity, vigor, respect, recognition in society. In astrology it is called the natural Atmakaraka planet. Therefore, many recommend building a house so that its front part faces east. It is better to place the main entrance door not in the middle of the eastern wall, but a little closer to the North-East corner of the house. There should be windows at the front of the house. It is necessary to build so that sunlight enters the house through the windows.

Southeast: Venus represents the Southeast. The god Agni is also located here. Many ancient texts recommend having a kitchen in the South-Eastern part of the house. It is not recommended to store a lot of food in the kitchen. Because the wife of the owner of the house reigns in the kitchen. The repository is Saturn. Saturn represents chronic diseases. Therefore, it is harmful for the hostess. Motors, motors and other electrical appliances can also be kept on the South-East side.

South: Mars represents the South. This is a good place to build a bedroom. It is better to have a toilet in the West. After the West, the best place for a toilet is considered to be the South, closer to the South-West corner of the earth. It is better to keep all types of electrical equipment near the southern wall of the room or premises. For example, if you need to install an air conditioner, it is better to install it on the western wall of the room. It is better not to keep food supplies on the south side of the house. The god of death (Yama) rules the South. Therefore, it is better not to place the main door of the house facing South.

Southwest: Rahu represents the South West. The energy that comes to the site from the North-East accumulates in the South-West. This energy must be conserved. You cannot create a main entrance to a site or a main door to a house in the South-West. Since energy accumulates here, this place is considered favorable for storing jewelry and wealth. Rahu is able to strengthen and multiply what it is next to. It is recommended to place a closet in a room that is located in the South-West. It is better to place the closet so that its doors open to the North. Rahu is responsible for unquenchable passions. Therefore, a married couple can arrange a bedroom in the South-West. It is better to place the bed so that the head of the room is in the western part of the room. It is not recommended to sleep with your head facing north. The altitude level of the plots should be higher in the South-West than in the East. If you need to place a barrel of water on the roof of a house, the best place for this is considered to be the South-West. It's better not to have a toilet in the Southwest. Rahu represents spirits and spiritualists. If in the South-Western part of the house the plaster is crumbling, the paint is peeling off and there is rubbish and garbage in this part of the house, this may mean that spirits and spiritualists live in this house.

West: Saturn represents the West. We know that Saturn represents hunger. In astrology, the crow symbolizes Saturn. The crow is in eternal hunger. In astrology, it is recommended to feed crows to calm Saturn. Therefore, it is best to have a dining room in the West. You cannot place a table under load-bearing beams. It is better for the owner of the house to sit at the table facing East. Members of his family may sit facing North and West but should not sit facing South. Where the toilet is located in the house is where the most negative energy is generated. Improper placement of the toilet is one of the main causes of disharmony in the home. It is best to have a toilet on the west side of the property towards the North West corner of the land. The western side is good for storing food. It is not recommended to have the main entrance in the West. If the main entrance is in the west, this may mean that the owner of the house has to earn money the hard way. If you need to place the main door on the western wall of the house, this door should not be located exactly in the middle of the western wall. If you need to place a door in the West, it must be moved slightly from the middle of the western wall towards the North-West corner of the house.

Northwest: The Moon represents the North-West. The God of Air also rules the Northwest. If the main entrance to the house is in the North-West part of the site, this can provide a lot of travel for the owner of the house. In this part you can build a garage for your car. Here you can build a staircase if there is a second floor. If you build a staircase, it is better to build it so that a person climbs to the top facing North or East.

North: Mercury represents the North. God Kubera rules the North. Kubera is responsible for wealth, money and treasures. He is considered the richest god. There are stories where Lord Kubera lent gold to other gods. Therefore, it is recommended to keep money, gold, and wealth in the North. It is also recommended to carry out all types of mental work on the North side of the house. Children should sit at the desk facing North. Wherever a person sits, one should always try to sit facing North. This pose improves a person's imagination. Wealth will accumulate in the house if you install the main door to the North. This is a very good position for those whose work is related to Mercury indicators. It is necessary to place the main door not in the very middle of the northern wall, but a little to the right, closer to the North-East corner of the house.

Northeast: Jupiter and Ketu represent the North East. All energy comes to the site from the North-East. The North East is ruled by Lord Shiva. Vastu Purusha lies with its head towards the North-East. This is where his head lies. His Words are coming out into the air from the North-East. Therefore this side of the earth is called the corner of the gods. Jupiter represents supreme knowledge and the help and blessings of gods and teachers. Ketu represents a person's connection with the other world. For help to come from higher powers, this corner must be very clean. If the main entrance of a house is in the North-East, it may mean that the people in this house are very righteous, spiritual and prosperous. This side is considered ideal for hallways and living rooms. Under no circumstances should there be a toilet, a bedroom for a married couple, a bathtub, garbage, a garage, trash, or large trees. It's better to have a simple, cozy patio in the Northeast without unnecessary items. Here you can have a well, a pond, an aquarium. A corner for prayer should be installed on this side of the house.

Parts of the human body are ruled by certain planets. Also, parts of the house are also ruled by different planets . Depending on how the parts of a person's house are in reality, one can determine which planets are favorable and which planets are detrimental. This way you can have an idea about the fate of the people who live in this house. To do this, it is important to know which planets are responsible for the corresponding parts of the house. Each part of the house is ruled by a specific planet and also each item is also associated with a specific planet. We can look at what the conjunction of these two planets could mean. In this way we can understand the positive and negative aspects of the lives of the people who live in the house.

To understand which part of the house is ruled by which planet, you need to compare the parts of the house with parts of the human body . The house has front and rear entrances. Our body also has a front and a back entrance. The front entrance of a person is the mouth. The mouth represents Rahu. Also the main entrance of the house represents Rahu. A person talks with his mouth and his conversation makes it clear about his personality. A person eats food with his mouth and satisfies his hunger. Also, the front door of a house symbolizes how well a person lives. If the front door is dirty or damaged, this could mean financial difficulties for the homeowner. The door must be installed so that it opens into the house. We need to pay attention to what a person sees when he opens his door from the inside. There should be no metal objects, large stones, columns, motors, generators, or tools near the door. Because these objects symbolize Mars. Rahu and Mars cannot stand each other. This connection shows injuries, accidents, quarrels, scandals, operations. Therefore, if there are heavy objects at the main entrance, they must be removed immediately. I have seen people leave a large barrel to collect water from the roof. Water accumulates in this barrel. The container with water is the Moon. The Moon is responsible for the mother, mental state and liquid. When such a barrel is located near the front door, it can indicate a conjunction of Rahu and the Moon. Rahu and the Moon also cannot stand each other. Therefore, in such a house there may be alcoholics, mentally unbalanced people, and this may also indicate poor health of the mother.

The chin represents Saturn. You can compare the chin with the steps to the main entrance. Therefore, Saturn shows the steps. A couple of years ago I was in a country house. To get to the front door, you had to climb wooden steps. I noticed how a large natural stone stood under the steps. The steps were made over the stone. A few months ago the owner of this house died of heart disease. The stone represents Mars and the steps represent Saturn. Here a combination of Saturn and Mars is formed. Saturn and Mars cannot stand each other. Saturn means disease and Mars means blood and heart. Therefore, there should not be any objects that symbolize Mars on the steps.

When looking at the street from inside the house, there should be no metal objects, tools, large stones, barrels, holes, damaged objects, wires, ladders, trash or debris in front of the door. The door must be in perfect condition. Metal objects should not hang on the door. It should not be painted red or black. If there is even the slightest damage, it needs to be repaired and painted. The right eye symbolizes the Sun and the left eye the Moon. When looking from the inside of the house into the courtyard, the windows on the right side symbolize the Sun and the windows on the left side symbolize the Moon.

The Sun is responsible for the right eye, sons, father, and the Moon is responsible for the left eye, daughters, mother. Accordingly, the right window shows sons, father, male relatives and the left window shows daughters, mother and female relatives. When the right window of the house is damaged, this may indicate poor health of the father or failure of the son. If there is no window on the right side, this may mean the absence of sons or the failure of sons. You also need to look at daughters and female relatives in the left window. For example, if the left window is located in perfect condition and sunlight enters it, this may indicate a high social status of the mother or daughters. If this room is used as a place for prayer, this may indicate the kindness and spirituality of the mother or daughters of the owner of the house. Lanes and small roads show Ketu. If there is a narrow path or path on the right side of the plot, this shows financial difficulties for the sons. If there is a staircase next to the right window, this is also not good for sons.

When purchasing a plot, you need to pay attention that there are no alleys around the plot. It is better if there is only one road in front of the house. The land should be more or less square. The more complex the form, the less favorable it is. It is also better not to buy plots of land in front of which there are playing fields, transformers, temples, dirty abandoned areas, gas stations, garages, car service centers, laundries, hairdressers, complex metal structures.
After the mouth, food ends up on the tongue. This is the hall and corridors. Mercury is responsible for language, halls and corridors. Food that enters the mouth travels a very long way through various organs of the digestive system. While it follows its path, our body tries to absorb all the important elements. After all the beneficial elements are absorbed, the remaining waste leaves the body through the anus. Nature has created such a long path so that the body has time to absorb all the useful elements. Food enters the body through the mouth and waste exits through the anus. If you compare the sizes, the mouth is large, the anus is small. The house also has front and back entrances. Energy enters the house through the front door and exits through the back door. It is necessary to build a house so that the energy received remains in the house as much as possible. To do this, you cannot build the front and back doors close to each other. They must be far from each other, and there must be a difficult path between them. The back door should be smaller than the front door. Ketu is responsible for the back door. Many people leave the trash can at the back door. This shows the conjunction of Saturn and Ketu. This kind of trash bin blocks the material growth of the family.

You cannot build a corridor with tail-shaped turns. The passage should not be blocked by rubbish. Some people hang animal skins, antlers, and flags on the walls of the hall or corridor. These things symbolize Ketu. This is not favorable for the owner of the house. This may indicate conflicts related to real estate, possible legal cases for the owner. Instead, it is better to hang beautiful pictures that represent Venus. It is also very good to hang pictures of teachers, sages, gods, spiritual people. Because the hall is showing Mercury. Here you need to create a combination of Mercury and Venus or Mercury and Jupiter. Therefore, it is very good to create a corner for prayer in the North-East corner of the hall. Icons, statues and paintings of gods and spiritual leaders must be in perfect condition. It is very favorable to keep money, gold, jewelry in the corridor or hall. It is not favorable to keep tools, sharp objects, or electrical appliances in the hall.

I wrote above that it is better to install the bedroom in the South-West or South. The bedroom is ruled by Mars. Husband and wife sleep here. The husband is Mars and the wife is Venus. When a family cannot have children, the very location of the bedroom can also give a hint of this problem. For example, if during the daytime the sun's rays fall heavily into the bedroom (especially if the room is on the right side of the house), this means that a combination of Venus and the Sun is formed in this room.

The bedroom is the place of conception. Venus is responsible for sex cells and reproduction. When the Sun falls strongly into this room, it symbolizes the combustion of sex cells. It is not recommended to receive guests in the bedroom. Guests are Mercury. Mercury also signifies lover, mistress and flirtation. You should not eat while sitting on the bed of a married couple. There should not be a library or desk in this room. Also, flags, leather goods, and clotheslines should not be hung here. It is not advisable to sew clothes in this room. Having a separate toilet inside the bedroom is also not recommended.

Classical Vastu experts do not advise having a toilet next to the bedroom. If the prayer corner is located next to the toilet or opposite the toilet, this may indicate that the person is very keen on spiritual practice. Such people do not have a good material life. The kitchen is ruled by two planets. These are Venus and Mars. The owner's wife is Venus. Previously, women were in the kitchen all the time and therefore it was believed that she ran the kitchen. There is a stove in the kitchen. Mars is in charge of the slab. Therefore, the kitchen itself is Venus and cooking is Mars. The kitchen should not be built so that it is the largest part of the house. It is better to have the largest area in the hall. There are kitchens where the walls above the stove are covered with grease and soot. This may mean that spirits and spiritualists live in this kitchen. It is better not to store food in the kitchen. Because the vault is ruled by Saturn. Here a combination of Venus, Saturn and Mars is formed. This is a very bad combination especially for the lady of the house. There are houses where the stove is in the hallway. Such a stove will have a bad effect on family harmony. It is very good to store things in the hallway. Because this is how a combination of Saturn and Mercury is formed in the house. If the kitchen is adjacent to the right window at the front of the house, this may indicate that the father or eldest son is hot-tempered.
The toilet is ruled by Ketu. The toilet should not be located between the kitchen and the bedroom. This is very bad for family harmony. Toilets should be located away from bedrooms. In the past, people built toilets further away from their homes. If tree branches get inside the house through the windows, this indicates poor health of the owner.

If the fourth house in a person's natal chart is under the influence of malefics, it makes it difficult to have a cozy property. Especially Mars, Sun, Ketu in the 4th house block the coziness and comfort of home. The influence of Venus, Moon, Mercury, Jupiter on the fourth house provides a cozy home. When Saturn is in the 4th house or the 4th house is aspected by Saturn, the person may inherit an old house or apartment. If Rahu and Saturn are together in the 4th house, this may indicate the presence of spirits of deceased people and spirits in the house. Such people should keep all corners of the house clean. If Saturn and Mars are in the 4th house, the person has to face many problems related to real estate. Life forces them to watch, protect, repair and maintain their home than to experience comfort. Retrograde planets in the 4th house also have a negative impact on real estate.

Moving into the house

After completing the construction of the house, the owner turns to an astrologer to choose a favorable day for housewarming. The astrologer analyzes the natal chart and selects a good day and time for the housewarming. This moment is considered an important moment in life. Therefore, many people still observe these traditions. Housewarming is called ‘Gruha Pravesh’ in Sanskrit. The concept of Gruha Pravesh also comes from ancient times. When Lord Shiva and Parvati got married, Lord Shiva asked Vishwakarma (architect of the universe) to build a beautiful palace for them. Vishwakarma built for them a golden city called Lanka on the island of Sri Lanka. Rishi Pulasti was one of the great sages of that time (one of the Manasa Putra). Lord Shiva invited Sage Pulasti and asked him to perform the rituals of Gruha Pravesh. After this ceremony, Lord Shiva wanted to thank sage Pulasti for performing the rituals and asked him to name any wish that he would like to fulfill. Pulasti said that he would like to own the same golden city of Lanka. Lord Shiva fulfilled his wish and gave him Lanka. Over time, this city came into the hands of Ravana, as Ravana was the grandson of the sage Pulasti.
When Prince Rama was in the forest, he built a house to live with his wife and brother during the period of exile. After the completion of this house, Rama along with his brother prayed to the gods and gave food to the Vastu Devatas and performed the rituals of Gruha Pravesh. Therefore, since the wedding of Lord Shiva and Parvati, people and gods celebrated housewarming according to sacred statutes.

The most ancient and authoritative text on Vastu, Mayamata says that one should not rush to move into a house until the construction work is completely completed. Favorable forces begin to control the house only after completion of construction work. On the previous day before the housewarming, the house should be put in order and clean. Mayamata recommends washing the floor and dousing it with a solution of Sandalwood powder. Sandalwood products have been used since ancient times as an antiseptic and flavoring agent. At an auspicious moment, the husband and wife should enter the house in a joyful mood and thank everyone who participated in the construction of the house. Now it is difficult to perform those rituals that are prescribed in ancient texts. Therefore, it is better to celebrate housewarming according to the traditions where the person lives.

MUKHURTA (auspicious moment) for starting house construction and housewarming.

Mayamata says that it is necessary to select the most favorable moment to start building a house and for housewarming. You can start work on any day of the week except Tuesday and Sunday. At the time of the start of construction work and at the time of housewarming, a favorable sign (Lagna in the Muhurta chart) should rise on the eastern horizon. For example, it is considered favorable if, at the moment construction begins, one of the fixed signs such as Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius rises on the eastern horizon.

It is also considered favorable if at the moment of starting work the sign of the ruler of the 3rd, 6th or 11th house of your natal chart is rising. For example, let's say you were born under the rising sign of Gemini. The moment will be favorable for you when the signs of the ruler of the 3/6/11 houses of your natal chart rise. These are Aries, Leo and Scorpio. These three signs are favorable for you. Now we need to see which of them is more favorable. Leo and Scorpio are fixed signs, so you need to choose these two signs. Of these two signs, you must choose one sign. You need to look at who rises from them in the morning, before lunch. Such events are held only in the morning. It is not advisable to start work or celebrate a housewarming at the moment when the movable signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn) are rising on the eastern horizon.

If you draw up a natal chart at this moment, favorable planets should not be located in the 6th, 8th, 12th houses. Pests are better off in 3/6/11 houses. It will also be better if no planets are in the 4/8 houses in the Muhurta chart. You should also try to have favorable planets in the first house. One must be careful that the ruler of the lagna of this chart (Muhurta) is not the ruler of the 8th house of the natal chart of the owner of the house. The location of the Sun at the moment of entering a new house is also an important indicator. Therefore, it is necessary to select a date and time when the Sun is in a favorable sign and house without damage.

The ancient sages came up with the best houses for the Sun depending on the location of the main entrance of the house. If the main entrance is facing East, it is better to enter this house when the sun is in the 8th/9th/10th/11th/12th houses. If the main entrance is facing South, it is better to enter this house when the Sun is in the 5th/6/7/8/9th houses. If the main entrance is facing West, it is better to enter this house when the Sun is in the 2nd/3rd/4th/5th/6th houses. If the main entrance is facing North, it is better to enter this house when the Sun is 11/12/1/2/3 houses in the chart. At this moment the Moon should also be very strong. On this day, the Moon should move in a favorable nakshatra in relation to the owner of the new house. The lunar day also plays an important role. 3/5/8/13 lunar days (waxing and waning) are considered favorable for starting construction work.

The date of moving into a new house can be determined depending on the location of the main entrance. If the house is facing east, it is better to enter this house on 5/10/15 lunar days. If the house is facing South, it is better to enter this house on 1/6/11 lunar days. If the house is facing West, it is better to enter this house on 2/7/12 lunar days. If the house is facing North, it is better to enter this house on 3/8/13 lunar days. Regardless of which direction the house is located, you cannot celebrate housewarming on 4/9/14 lunar days. Most importantly, at the time of the start of construction or housewarming, the Lagna in the muhurta chart should be very strong.

The first house should not be squeezed by pests on both sides. The Lagna lord should also be strong. In this note, I wrote the most basic techniques that astrologers use to determine the best moment to start building houses and settling. Besides this, there are other techniques. The more rules used, the more difficult it is to come to a conclusion. As a rule, an astrologer cannot determine the time that would be ideal according to all methods. Any favorable time will almost always not be suitable according to some rules. The goal here is to eliminate the bad time and recognize a more favorable moment.

The source of Vastu Shastra is believed to be the Sthapatya Veda, which in turn is part of the Atharva Veda - one of the four main Vedas. Sthapatya Veda is based on the concept of a holistic source of the universe, according to which all forms of creation originate from a single transcendental consciousness, and therefore it completely controls the mind, body of a person and the surrounding nature. This Veda includes: architecture, planning, sculpture, iconography, painting. The creation of the Sthapatya Veda is attributed to the chief architect of the Universe, the demigod (or archangel) Vishwakarma.
Every day the material knowledge of people is rapidly growing and increasing. During the stormy "industrial revolution", people achieved great results in construction and other areas of life, but the ancient spiritual sciences were left far behind. People have forgotten the basics of many knowledge, including Vastu Shastra, the history of which goes back at least 5000 years. It was in Vastu Shastra that the rules were first illuminated on how to create maximum convenience and comfort in small houses, achieve harmony in relationships between people, the importance of directions in the layout of the site and the house, and its appearance.
Vastu Shastra (vāstu śāstra “science of construction”, “architecture”) is the ancient science of harmony with nature and planning an ideal society. Ignoring the rules proposed by Vastu Shastra, people violated harmony and it is quite understandable why after this people’s attitudes towards each other and towards the world around them changed, diseases began to appear, which at the time of the dawn of the science of Vastu Shastra there was no trace of, and the worst manifestations began to surround people his social life. During the last world wars, the connection between man and the spiritual world was interrupted and this process was helped to a greater extent by people’s desire for a general modernization of life. If everyone follows the principles of Vastu Shastra as much as possible, we can live intelligently and make progress, living in peace and social well-being. For the existence of a person, both a spiritual and a material object, it is necessary to establish a relationship with the invisible forces of nature, with the help of which it will be possible to find a place containing the harmony of the five elements, necessary for a better life and open to people by Vastu Shastra.
Everything in the world - plants, people, animals, according to Vastu Shastra, consists of five basic elements: earth, water, air, sky, fire, which determine the close relationship of man with the environment. Man is assigned a place on earth in accordance with his actions in relation to nature and its wealth. If we choose a place of residence where the five elements are in harmony, then we will be one with nature, and our relationship with God will be much stronger. To achieve this, you need to measure every step you take, since nature is endowed with magical powers that influence humans.
Humanity has been waging war on the environment all over the earth for a long time, forgetting that people are also part of nature. In ancient times, most houses were built from wood. Today, wood is almost never used in construction; instead, harder and stronger materials have begun to be used - iron, concrete, aluminum, etc. People buy standard houses cheaper than those they would build themselves, from natural environmentally friendly materials, showing attention and care about the future of your family.
Modern buildings are deprived of these personal qualities and therefore their owners often experience difficulties in the financial, psychological, family, and social spheres, and problems often come to such houses. In order for there to be happiness, well-being and prosperity in the house, we must follow the advice of Vastu Shastra. Ignorance of the laws of nature creates social tension for millions of people and darkens the fate of entire cities and countries on Earth. The ancient science of harmony with nature and planning an ideal society - Vastu Shastra - can tell us how to restore harmony with nature, health, prosperity and happiness.
What is Vastu?
Vastu is an ancient science about how to attract the maximum positive energy of the universe into your home and block the flow of negative energy. This knowledge is becoming more and more relevant these days, as our habitat moves us further and further away from Nature
Man - “Homo Sapiens” - is a reasonable person. It is interesting that this definition of a person is directly related to the title of this article. It says that the most important thing for a person is not his ability to walk, talk or drag heavy objects - the main thing for a person is his mind and soul. Psychology, the science of the soul, examines the influence of the mind and emotions on our physical and mental states.
Alternative psychology also looks at this influence, although from a slightly different angle. But there is only one conclusion - our health directly depends on the state of our psyche, on our worldview, our system of priorities, and most importantly, on the feeling that we are in the right place at the right time, that our life is filled with meaning and joy. The main feeling that every person on Earth strives for is a feeling of happiness and love. We all plan to be happy - after all, this is the nature of the human soul. No one plans for unhappiness, but out of 100 people, when asked “Are you happy?” Almost 95 will not give an affirmative answer.
We know that we need to take care of our body - it needs food, drink, it needs to be kept clean, it needs physical activity to maintain good tone. We know which foods are good for our body and which are harmful, we know that clean water is healthier than water taken from a polluted river, but we rarely think about what is good for our soul. We rarely think about the fact that our “dirty” thoughts affect us in the same way as spoiled food affects the stomach. And just as our physical body doesn’t care at all whether we are dressed comfortably according to the weather, or whether we are steaming in a fur coat in the summer or wearing a light dress in the winter, our subtle body will also feel light and comfortable if everything around us is brought into a state of harmony with Nature. And the state of the subtle body directly affects the state of the physical body, that is, our health, performance and mood.
It is difficult to imagine a seriously ill person absolutely happy. But at the same time, we know how important his emotional attitude and desire to recover, the confidence that he will definitely overcome his illness are. Faith in healing works miracles. This means that a person’s subtle body and his physical body are inextricably linked by invisible threads, if a change in one affects a change in the other. The body is the home of our soul. And the body does not live in empty space, but in houses or apartments, the condition of which also has a huge impact on it. Home is like clothing for the subtle and physical body. We want the house to be warm in winter and cool in summer; in such a house we will feel comfortable and comfortable. And the subtle body also has its own concepts of comfort and convenience - this is the energetic background of your home.
What is the energy background? It cannot be described using the sensations of our senses, such as vision or hearing, it cannot be measured with the instruments available today, but it can be felt, felt by the “skin”, and its influence on our daily life can be seen.
We can feel it in the form of subtle vibrations that give us a feeling of joy, happiness and peace. Remember your emotions at the time of visiting the temple. It doesn’t matter at all what kind of church you are in - an Orthodox church, a Catholic cathedral, a synagogue, or an eastern pagoda - at this moment you are filled with a feeling of belonging, reverence and humility, even if you got there only as a tourist. Similar sensations visit us when we see the great creations of Nature - sometimes a marvelous mountain landscape literally brings us closer to an understanding of the Divine, and near a beautiful lake we want to stay longer, to watch the sunset and sunrise on its shores. These sensations are not a figment of our imagination, they are absolutely real, and their impact on our psyche is also absolutely real. It’s just that in such places Nature is absolutely harmonious, and if you know the laws by which this harmony is achieved, then you can use them in our everyday life.
These laws have long been a sealed secret. Our ancestors knew about them more than 5000 years ago. And today the relevance of the ancient laws has not lost its importance! On the contrary, today, in Kali Yuga, it is so important not to forget that ignorance of the laws of Nature does not exempt us from responsibility! Unfortunately, many houses and apartments designed and built without taking these laws into account are literally sick. In such houses we do not receive energy for daily life, our health deteriorates, relationships are upset, we lack money - and all this is only on the physical level. The effect on a subtle level is much more powerful!

What will change when your home is "cured"? First of all, harmony in the home will strengthen your health, both physical and mental. And physical health, as already mentioned, directly depends on the health of a person’s subtle bodies - pranic, astral, etheric. The science of Vastu allows us to normalize the subtle world of our home, which is inextricably linked with our own subtle bodies. Unlike the more well-known Feng Shui system today, which considers only the physical and slightly energetic levels, Vastu “digs” much deeper - in addition to those mentioned above, the state of the karmic and information fields is also considered, and the energy level, i.e. level prana in the house, is considered more broadly and in detail. Prana- This is vital energy entering the body with breathing. If the air in your apartment is saturated prana, With every breath of air you receive the vital energy we all need so much. The whole Universe helps you. You have the strength to complete everything you plan; at the end of the day you do not feel overwhelmed and despondent. Of course, only harmonizing your home will not solve all your life problems; your attitude towards everything that we call difficulties will simply change. Vastu will not change your destiny, your life will simply become easier, thanks to the newfound harmony and peace of mind. At the psychological level, a feeling of well-being and inner comfort will arise. Your relationships with family and friends will improve. You will be more willing to share your love with those around you. But this is precisely why you and I are here on Earth.

Has it ever happened to you, when entering a house or room, to think: “What an amazing feeling!”, or, conversely: “Lord, how uncomfortable and unpleasant I feel here!” Probably everyone has ever experienced similar positive or negative emotions in a house, apartment, office, in a forest or in a park. In addition, we felt good, bad, or mixed energy vibrations from certain people as well. What are these “vibrations” or “energies” flowing from people or buildings? When a certain place makes us feel weak and even sick, and another makes us feel healthy and strong, this is a real phenomenon caused by real reasons. Thus, good or bad natural energies are real, just as their influence on our bodies and souls is real.
The science of Vastu is the art of organizing your home or office in such a way that it will attract the positive energies of Nature and block the influence of negative impulses. Everything seems very simple, but sometimes it can be quite difficult to bring these ideas to life. How can subtle forces of Nature influence us so powerfully? The purpose of our course is to remove the veil from this great mystery and show how to harmonize these forces - all this is given to us with the help of Vastu, knowledge that has come to us from the depths of centuries.
Visit any architectural monument anywhere in the world, and you will clearly feel the energy and harmony. Walk into an ancient building, such as one of Andrea Palladio's famous Florentine palaces, and you will experience a sense of exaltation and awe that is inaccessible to you within the walls of modern Western buildings. The secret is that the ancient masters knew how to build buildings in complete harmony with the universal forces of Nature. The Chinese architectural style of Feng Shui, the European medieval style, the buildings of the ancient Mayan people in Central America - they all obeyed the same laws. But the Indian sacred books of Vastu, which have been in existence for about 5000 years, contain the most ancient rules of architecture, in harmony with the all-encompassing forces of Nature.
Archaeological excavations of prehistoric sites belonging to highly developed cultures throughout the Earth show that the system of arrangement of the dwellings of our ancient ancestors was built in harmony with both the powerful and subtle forces of Nature. Their goal, undoubtedly, was to preserve and enhance abundance, health and prosperity. The further we delve into the depths of centuries, the more clearly we see that many cultures used the same knowledge of the laws of construction in harmony with Nature. Such architectural monuments have been best preserved to this day in East Asia - in China and India. And today we see a revival of this art of construction throughout the world.
The most ancient buildings in India, which have stood for thousands of years and have not succumbed to natural destruction, were built in accordance with the laws of Vastu. There is hardly another architectural tradition such that buildings built according to its laws have stood for 5 thousand years and are still in use today. Nowadays, the ancient knowledge of favorable construction has been practically forgotten by modern architects.
Here I would like to tell you a little about the unique city of Mohenzhdo Daro. In 1922, Indian archaeologist R. Banarji discovered ancient ruins on one of the islands of the Indus River. They were named Mohenjo-Daro, which translated means “Hill of the Dead.” Mohenjo-Daro occupied an area of about 259 hectares and was a network of neighborhoods (the oldest example of such a layout), separated by wide streets with a developed drainage system, which were divided into smaller ones and built up with houses made of baked bricks. The dating of this settlement is still a matter of debate. Radiocarbon dating and connections with Mesopotamia allow it to be dated to 2300-1750. BC.
When Indian archaeologists D. R. Sahin and R. D. Banerjee were finally able to look at the results of their excavations, they saw the red-brick ruins of the oldest city in India, belonging to the proto-Indian civilization, a city quite unusual for the time of its construction - 4.5 thousands of years ago. It was planned with the greatest meticulousness: the streets are drawn out as if along a ruler, the houses are basically the same, with proportions reminiscent of cake boxes. But behind this “cake” shape there was sometimes hidden such a structure: in the center there was a courtyard, and around it there were four to six living rooms, a kitchen and a room for ablution. The preserved stairwells in some houses suggest that two-story houses were also built. The main streets were ten meters wide, the network of passages obeyed a single rule: some went strictly from North to South, and transverse ones - from West to East. But this monotonous city, like a chessboard, provided residents with amenities unheard of at that time. Ditches flowed through all the streets, and from them water was supplied to the houses (although wells were found near many). But more importantly, each house was connected to a sewerage system laid underground in pipes made of baked bricks and carrying all sewage outside the city limits. This was an ingenious engineering solution that allowed large masses of people to gather in a fairly limited space: in the city of Harappa, for example, at times up to 80,000 people lived. The instinct of the city planners of that time was truly amazing! Knowing nothing about pathogenic bacteria, especially active in warm climates, but probably having accumulated observational experience, they protected settlements from the spread of dangerous diseases. Interestingly, the famous ancient Roman architect Vitruvius was familiar with the ancient books of Vastu. Proof of this is one of the sections of his legendary opus "De re architectura", which repeats word for word a section from Manasara, the classical book of Vastu. Vitruvius lived 2000 years ago. His works inspired Andrea Palladio, who embodied the principles of Vastu in the world famous 16th century Renaissance style of architecture. And only recently have the veils of secrecy been lifted from the doctrine on which these architectural principles were based.

Vastu - ancient knowledge embodied in classical architecture of the Renaissance
According to Vastu theory, simplicity of forms and symmetry are necessary to achieve harmony in space. So, the most favorable shape for buildings is a square or rectangle. And you may feel that if you adhere to these laws, it is impossible to build a beautiful and original building. Fortunately, this is not the case!
The name Andrea Palladio is well known to anyone interested in the works of the Renaissance in Western Europe. His legacy is still studied by students of architectural institutes to this day. In practice, Palladio introduced the principles of Vastu into the architecture of medieval Italy.
Andrea Palladio was born in Padua, then part of the Venetian Republic, in 1508. But the city that has become a centuries-old monument to his work is Vicenza. The most significant part of Palladio's legacy are the numerous villas he designed in the vicinity of Venice and Vicenza. The villas were adapted for agriculture and met the needs of the aristocracy of the Veneto region, who invested capital in land. The composition of each ensemble is strictly symmetrical - from the front garden and entrances through the main portico or arcade preceding the front rooms, to the loggia or portico on the opposite side of the house, opening onto the second garden. In Palladio's villas, his ability to skillfully combine architecture and nature was particularly remarkable, transforming the landscape environment into a natural human habitat (for the Venetians this was especially significant, since Venice itself is devoid of greenery).
Palladio's masterpiece is the Villa Almerico-Valmarana ("La Rotonda" or "Capra") in Vicenza (1551-1567, completed by Vincenzo Scamozzi) - the first secular building of the Renaissance, crowned with a dome.

The building is built in the proportions of the golden ratio, like a belvedere with a round hall topped with a dome, with a skylight and light Ionic 6-column porticoes with stairs located around it on the sides of the facades.
Another masterpiece of Palladio is Villa Foscari.

These buildings, built in the 16th century, still stand intact and delight the eyes of tourists. Doesn't this speak of harmony with Nature! As if time has no power over these wonderful palaces!
Palladio left to the streams not only amazing villas and churches, but also a significant treatise “Four Books on Architecture” (Italian: I Quattro Libri dell "Architettura) - a work published in 1570, the largest body of knowledge and rules of classical architecture of the early modern era.
Title page of this book.

All experts agree that the famous Roman architect, engineer, and architectural theorist of the second half of the 1st century BC had a huge influence on Palladio’s work and creativity. e. Vitruvius. Among the embodied projects of Vitruvius, the most significant are the basilica in Fano and the construction of the Roman aqueduct. Vitruvius is also the author of the ergonomic proportioning system, which later became widespread in the visual arts and architecture under the name “Vitruvian Man”.

The treatise “Ten Books on Architecture” (Latin: De architectura libri decem) is the only surviving ancient work on architecture and, according to Vitruvius himself, the only book on architecture in Latin at that time.
The author summarized the experience of Greek and Roman architecture in the treatise, examined a complex of related urban planning, engineering and technical issues and principles of artistic perception. But the most interesting thing! Part of this manuscript repeats word for word the sacred text from Manasara, an ancient Indian treatise on architecture. Manasara is part of the Vedic books Shilpa Shastra, which served as a guide for Indian artisans, artists and architects. The treatise “Manasara” gives developed rules for the construction of cities and villages, strictly defines the details, proportions of buildings, their decorations and colors. Today we can only guess how ancient Vedic knowledge reached Vitruvius, the fact remains!
And today you can build beautiful and comfortable houses, adhering to the canons of Vastu! These houses will respect not only the rules, proportions, shapes, colors, but also functionality, comfort and warmth. In such houses you will feel healthy, energetic, the space will be filled with love and harmonious vibrations. You will be able to achieve both material and spiritual prosperity, harmony in relationships with the world and with your loved ones. By following the rules of Vastu, you can build not only “healthy” houses that will fill you with energy and strength, but also very beautiful buildings that are pleasing to the eye!

A universal tool for harmonizing rooms - yantras. Even if your house or apartment has many defects according to Vastu, if at home you feel tired, lack of strength, if money is “flowing through your fingers,” if relationships with loved ones are not going well, there is a solution to the problem. .

Vastu power

Arthur Smith is the president of the London Vastu Academy, which has branches in several countries around the world, designing houses for the richest people in Europe and Asia. Communicating with him for a week and getting to know him more and more, I could not help but be surprised at how highly and harmoniously developed he was. Physically, although he is over fifty, he lives in the rhythm of an eighteen-year-old boy. He does not provide medical insurance, because... over the past thirty years he has not been ill with anything. And this, according to him, is thanks to following the basic laws of Ayurveda and regular (2 times a week) playing tennis.
From a material point of view, when you see his computer, learn about his car, about the house he has in a prestigious suburb of London, you understand that he is not poor. And according to him, this is due to following clear spiritual and material laws of doing business. A separate article could be written about his family: about his wonderful wife, about his son, who graduated from Cambridge School with excellent marks, speaks four languages fluently and gives deeply philosophical lectures. A book could be written about his personal spiritual search: how 35 years ago he met his spiritual teacher, became interested in Vedic literature, and left for India. In the Vedas, in addition to answers to his spiritual questions, he found a lot of practical information, which he began to apply in life (and, as we see, quite successfully). But most of all he was fascinated by Vastu - the ancient science of architecture and design, and over time this became his main profession. And this is precisely the topic we want to talk to him about. After all, as it turns out, human health greatly depends on the place in which a person lives and works.
—Have you been studying Vedic culture for a long time?
— Yes, I have been studying the Vedic scriptures for 35 years. I believe that every person should have a philosophy of life. My philosophy is “Bhagavad-gita” (“Bhagavad-gita” is the most ancient scripture on earth, which is the basis for the vast majority of religious, philosophical and esoteric eastern schools. R.B) and its further development - “Srimad-Bhagavatam” . As a consequence of this, there came a desire to organize my living and work space in accordance with Vastu Shastra - Vedic science leading to material and spiritual progress.
— Nowadays, many people are familiar with the concept of Feng Shui. What is the difference between Feng Shui and Vastu?
— The main difference between Vastu and Feng Shui is that Vastu is based on a theistic perception of the world, i.e. on the assertion that the Creator (God) exists, and the basis of Feng Shui is “nirvishesha” - emptiness, nothingness, the concept of the non-existence of God. The second difference between Vastu and Feng Shui is that Vastu considers four levels: physical, karmic, energetic and spiritual. Feng Shui works exclusively on the physical level, slightly affecting the energy level. According to Vastu, the physical level consists of five basic elements from which our entire Universe is “built” - air, earth, water, fire and ether. The energy level is the influence of the nine “grahas” (planets in Sanskrit) on a person and on the space in which a person is located. The karmic level considers the influence of the rulers of the eight main directions of light on people and on the premises they occupy. The fourth, spiritual level considers the influence of Avatars - various incarnations of God. Their influence is strongest in the eight main cardinal directions. There is another significant difference between Vastu and Feng Shui: applying the laws of Vastu in practice always leads to positive results. Feng Shui also does not harm, and sometimes helps, but the results of using Vastu are much stronger and more noticeable on all four levels.
— Vastu is called the original Feng Shui. Does this mean that the source of these two sciences is the same?
— Absolutely true, although some in Chinese society try to deny this, also denying the fact that Buddhism came to China from India. History tells that about 2500 years ago, the Indian ruler Chakra-Shari expelled Buddhist monks from his country and they settled in many Asian countries neighboring India. China, of course, was no exception. The Chinese learned about Buddhism from these monks and adopted this religion. Indian monks also brought medical knowledge, which formed the basis of Chinese medicine, and martial arts such as Kung Fu. There is evidence of the Indian origin of Chinese martial arts: having visited China today, you can see that many great Kung Fu masters use in their terminology Sanskrit names 5000 years ago, which could have appeared on Chinese soil exclusively from India.
— How do Vastu laws work?
— Vastu compares the material body of a person with the house in which he is located. The house is the body for our body, just as the body is the house of the soul. Like the human body, the entire Universe consists of five basic elements; so in any house there is a sector of water, a sector of fire, earth, etc. A house, like a person, has a mouth - this is the main entrance door, and two eyes - two windows on the left and right sides of the front door. The inside of the house is the stomach, the southwest sector is the legs, and the northeast, west and east sectors are the arms. The whole house functions like the human body, and just like the body sometimes needs the help of a doctor, also sooner or later you need to call a Vastu doctor who can balance the energy of your house.
— How are Vastu and human health related?
— Naturally, the internal energy of a house greatly affects the health of the people staying there. A person’s physical and mental health is very strongly related to the state of the eastern and northeastern sectors in the house, as well as to the configuration of the central part of the house. The physical condition of a person living or working in a room whose central part is open, bright, and uncluttered with furniture, noticeably improves. With good Vastu in the eastern sector, health improves and an influx of strength and energy is felt. Good Vastu in the north and northeast helps to increase the intelligence and spiritual state of a person.
— I know that you have conducted scientific research on this issue. And what conclusion did you come to?
“We actually looked at the physical and mental health of people living in several hundred houses with poor Vastu in the north-eastern and central sectors, and found that 75% of the residents have some serious health problems. After studying the health status of people living in houses without Vastu defect in these sectors, we found that 80% of people are practically healthy!
— What can you advise to achieve good Vastu in the house?
- I will give Five Tips for Positive Vastu at your home:
1. Don't keep any junk in the northeast corner of your home. This sector is considered one of the most important in Vastu. This place is sacred because it is ruled by Jupiter, the guru of all demigods. It must be kept clean at all times. If the toilet in your house is located in the northeast, this has a very negative effect on the entire energy of the house.
2. Never clutter the space near the main entrance with rubbish. The main entrance to a house or apartment is the mouth of your house, through which the entire house receives prana, or Chi in Feng Shui, i.e. vital energy. The most unfavorable position of the main entrance to the house is the southwest, because it is from the southwest that the negative influence of the planet Rahu comes.
3. The kitchen is a sacred place in the home. The quality of the kitchen affects the quality of life of the entire house and all its residents. “We are what we eat.” People in good health and long-lived people tend to eat well. Keep the kitchen clean, do not allow pets in the kitchen, do not wear dirty, unkempt clothes, and do not eat in the kitchen.
4. The central part of your home - the Brahma stana - should be open, bright and free of furniture. A kitchen or toilet located in the central part of the house will greatly degrade the energy of your home. This is because the main chakras of Vastu Purusha, the symbol of living space in Vastu, will be blocked.
5. It is very important where your head is directed during sleep. The most unfavorable direction is north (legs are stretched to the south), in which case a person’s sleep can be shallow, intermittent, a person gets up in the morning not rested and full of strength, but broken and tired. Directing the sleeper's head to the east helps to better master knowledge, learn and remember better; to the southeast - brings material wealth and the ability to study better; to the south - material well-being; to the southwest - material well-being and popularity; to the west - popularity; northeast and northwest are considered neutral directions.
These five factors are very important in Vastu, but this is only a small part of this science. There are more than 150 different aspects of Vastu, which can be both positive and negative. Of course, there are other factors that influence our health and well-being, such as a person’s individual horoscope.
