Corner wardrobe in the living room - modern options. Corner wardrobe Corner wardrobes built into the wall

Since ancient times, wardrobes have been an integral component of every home. They have undergone significant changes, meeting the requirements of functionality and new technologies.

The predecessor of the piece of furniture in question was the screen, introduced by Napoleon, dissatisfied with the untidiness of the barracks. Later, the entrepreneurial spirit of the Americans made it possible to replace the partition with a door that was assembled with an accordion. Then the same Americans thought of attaching wheels to the door.

Gradually, the furniture was improved, its composition became more complex, and new materials and technologies were used. As a result, modern models have appeared that meet the requirements of multifunctionality, creating comfort and well-being in the home.

Advantages and specific features

The design of the doors, which move along the wall along guides during the opening process, is a distinctive feature of the coupe. Such doors slide out or fold like an accordion, without requiring free space for themselves, like ordinary cabinets.

Preserving unoccupied space will be a significant advantage of corner wardrobes for small apartments. The difference will also be the installation of a corner cabinet as a single set between adjacent walls.

Sufficient capacity is an undeniable advantage. A variety of objects and things can be located throughout the space, despite the fact that the closet itself occupies a small area.

The corner cabinet is universal, which allows you to match it to apartments of any design, which is facilitated by the provision of photos of corner cabinets by any specialized stores and showrooms. The relationship with the decoration of the room can be ensured by mirrors, or by applying images, photographs and other decorative details.

A corner cabinet can always be ordered at the intended price from the catalog of corner cabinets, and this is its undoubted advantage.

Choosing a corner cabinet

There are a number of nuances that should be identified if you are going to buy a corner wardrobe. A careful approach will help you choose functional, practical furniture with a long service life. Let's look at some of the aspects.

Determining the structure and raw materials, as well as cost, will also be important. You should not settle for cheap options, as they will most likely have hidden or obvious flaws, which will sooner or later reveal themselves, shortening the period of use and creating unnecessary hassle.

Another point is the internal content, which must be selected so that it is convenient and practical for you.

Interior matching

You can find many variations of corner cabinets in stores, so finding a suitable model is often difficult, because this piece of furniture is designed to serve for many years. For this, combination with the interior is important.

In the minimalist style, the most suitable would be the rigor and contrast of geometric shapes and colors, which will indicate order and lack of excess. By analogy, you can purchase a model in a classic style or for a modern design.

In general, the corner closet is designed to provide rationality, not to contradict the peculiarities of the owners’ life and the design of the room, plus the ability to accommodate everything you need, including clothes, shoes and household appliances.

Installation in different rooms

A corner cabinet can be placed anywhere, but in different rooms this piece of furniture will not have the same purpose, that is, the feasibility of its maintenance will be required.

Thus, it would be useful to equip a corner closet in the hallway with a hanger for casual clothes and a shelf for placing shoes (sloping wire shelves for ventilation would be a good option in this case). It doesn’t hurt to allocate space for household appliances and other accessories.

In the bedroom, a closet is usually provided with shelves for storing casual clothes, bedding and other accessories. It would be optimal to provide hanging rods here - you can easily get to the things you need and not wrinkle the clothes during storage. Various drawers for small items, socks, underwear, accessories, belts, and ties will also be convenient.

In the nursery, it will accommodate not only clothes and all sorts of small things, but also toys, books, sports equipment and much more. Here you should pay attention to securing all shelves and drawers at a suitable height. The main thing when buying a wardrobe for a child's room will be to ensure safety and comfort.

A closet in the living room, among other things, can help with organizational issues, and its original design will improve the appearance of the living room. The filling must be selected according to your own needs.

Some varieties

Several cabinet configurations:

  • triangular;
  • trapezoidal;
  • L-shaped;
  • five-walled

There is also a combined model that combines several types.

Triangular

This form of corner cabinet is usually used without side walls, so the internal contents are attached to the wall. A triangular cabinet can brighten up corners and give a special harmonious atmosphere.

A subtype of triangular corner cabinets will be a radius cabinet. Its originality is that the door has the shape of a semicircle, provided by guides. In this case, the door can be either convex or concave, or wavy.

Trapezoidal

One side of this configuration provides for the presence of a side wall, due to which the structure itself looks from the outside like an irregular trapezoid. A non-standard approach to filling with the use of additions will allow you to effectively use the space inside the cabinet.

L-shape

The type in question is the most common, since the shape is universal and can be chosen for any room. An L-shaped cabinet is formed by two straight cabinets connected together.

Five-walled version

The five-wall configuration consists of several connected side walls. This form is an extraordinary model that allows you to supplement it with internal elements if necessary.

Also, corner cabinets can have a built-in or cabinet structure.

Built-in structure

The advantage of built-in corner cabinets is the rational filling of space. However, if there is a need to change its location, the owner will be forced to break everything and do it again, which will certainly be a disadvantage.

This type does not have a back wall, attaches to the wall and does not allow dust to accumulate behind it. Therefore, when cleaning, this design has a clear advantage over others.

Hull structure

This structure consists of a base, ceiling and side walls. Its unconditional advantage manifests itself when it becomes necessary to change its location. The disadvantage of the design will be the inconvenience during cleaning and the occurrence of additional costs for each wall.

Colors

The visual perception of furniture and the room as a whole depends on the color scheme. It is better to choose a color that is in harmony with the natural tone of the wood and, of course, with the color scheme in the room.

At the same time, the contrast between the room and the closet will look good: a light room - a dark closet, and vice versa. This approach will allow you to focus attention on this piece of furniture. Also, the surface of the furniture can be decorated with any patterns.

Material selection

The service life of a coupe depends, first of all, on the duration of use of the moving mechanism. It is this mechanism that is most susceptible to external influences and it will be the most fragile part of the structure. Therefore, when purchasing a corner wardrobe, you should pay attention to the raw materials from which this part is made.

It is also important that when opening the door there should be no extraneous sounds. Guides can be steel or aluminum. The latter have a higher quality and, accordingly, a higher price.

The body is usually made of wood, MDF or chipboard. Such raw materials provide protection from moisture, sun and other influences. It can also be finished with laminate. The best quality and the most expensive prices come from environmentally friendly materials.

Filling

Conventionally, the internal space can be divided into the upper middle and lower parts, which are intended for storing various objects and things.

The filling can be from all sorts of shelves, cells, drawers, rods, hangers, baskets, niches and other things. At the same time, their location, size and quantity must be selected based on the objects and things for which it will be intended.

But there are also general recommendations for filling - components exceeding 60 centimeters in width tend to sag during use. Thus, you need to choose the most optimal width of the components, without rushing from one extreme to another, but choosing the golden mean.

Structural additions

Elements that are additions to the base must ensure ease of connection to it, as well as convenience and practicality of use. As a rule, these are open and light glass, plastic or wooden elements that add additional comfort to the overall appearance of the room.

An interesting addition is the internal illumination, which ensures good visibility. It is important to maintain harmony with the main lighting of the room.
Self-assembly

Manual assembly of such a cabinet is quite simple and quite doable; you just need to choose the right base, fastenings and take a responsible approach to the process itself.

To assemble a corner cabinet with your own hands, you first need to determine its location in order to correctly calculate the dimensions. Then you should choose a model - built-in or cabinet-mounted.

Particular attention should be paid to top-moving (without thresholds) or bottom-supporting (usually made of plasterboard) guides. The structure of the entire structure as a whole depends on the choice of the guide system.

It is necessary to choose good quality material, purchase necessary and additional parts in advance, planning their location in the cabinet and taking into account its configuration. When taking measurements, we recommend double-checking yourself to avoid mistakes and protect the structure.

Photos of corner cabinets

Many families know how important it is to save space in the apartment. Apartments are expensive, there is little space in them, and there is simply nowhere to fit all your things. A fresh solution is to install a wardrobe, this is a built-in structure, the doors of which move in different directions, and do not open towards themselves, which is also convenient for saving space.

You can choose any design for the closet; there are no specific frames; the outer wall is often made mirrored, which allows you to try on things and see how the chosen image looks on you without leaving the closet. Sliding wardrobes really look modern, they are unlikely to ever go out of fashion and at the same time they can accommodate a lot of things and create coziness in the room. If you have a pet or a baby in your family, then you don’t have to worry about the safety of things in the closet, children will not open the closet door without your help, and animals will not get in there either. We invite you to take a closer look at modern corner wardrobes.

How is a corner wardrobe different from a regular one?

The main difference can be understood already from the name itself; the corner version of the wardrobe - a compartment can be placed in the corner of the room, which will additionally save space in the apartment/house. This is convenient, since a regular wardrobe is placed along the wall, which takes up more space and does not look so compact. There is also a difference in the appearance of the cabinets. A standard sliding wardrobe can only be made rectangular by placing the wardrobe near the wall, but a corner wardrobe has a variety of shapes, from rectangular to trapezoidal.

Advantages of a corner wardrobe - compartment

Space saving: such a cabinet takes up little space in the house, so it is great for apartments with a small area to save space and create a certain coziness; A large selection of different cabinet designs, as this model of cabinets is considered a bestseller. Different furniture manufacturers offer many color options, different materials and color solutions, so you can choose a cabinet to suit your taste to suit the design of your apartment, even if you are a sophisticated buyer.; Although this model seems small, it can accommodate a lot of things, thanks to its great depth and many internal shelves. You can easily put all your extra things there to create coziness and comfort in your nest. Such a cabinet can be placed in any room, the main thing is to choose the right design.

But the corner wardrobe also has its own disadvantages that need to be taken into account before purchasing:

You may have to make a rearrangement, since the corner cabinet model needs to be placed in the corner of the room; The cabinet doors are equipped with rails on which the doors move, which is convenient, but the rails themselves take up space inside the cabinet; The cabinet rails must be periodically cleaned of dirt, dust, and hair, which can get stuck in the wheels and the door will not move.

Despite the fact that there are still disadvantages, they are few and they pale in comparison with the advantages of such cabinet models. The main thing is to take care of the mechanism of the cabinet rails, then the cabinet will function normally.

In which room is it better to place a corner wardrobe?

Such cabinets can be called universal, as they fit well into any interior, but let's look at all the options.

Living room

Family feasts usually take place in this room; this is where you bring guests, so the living room is considered the “face” of your apartment. And the coziness and comfort in this room gives your guests an impression of your home as a whole, and this room also characterizes you as the owner of the house. If your living room seems like a “warehouse”, a room where you have laid out all the unnecessary things in everyday life, it is unlikely that guests will want to return to you. An excellent option for hiding things that create a mess is to buy a corner wardrobe - a compartment, because such a wardrobe is suitable for a room of any size. And if you have a studio, then such a cabinet is simply necessary to save space.

The bedroom is a place where it should be cozy so that you can relax and not be distracted by the mess; corner wardrobes fit perfectly into the bedroom interior.

Since the design of cabinets is varied, you can choose the one that suits your bedroom; usually, light-colored designs made from chipboard are placed there. A certain harmony is created by cabinets of radius models; they do not have corners, which is conducive to relaxation. This design looks very modern and resembles the furniture of the future; it will fit even in a bedroom with a high-tech design. Such cabinets are usually placed along the wall.

Modern furniture manufacturers offer a wide variety of designs and colors; you can even choose a wardrobe decorated with photo printing! Imagine how nice it is to wake up and see a huge waterfall or beautiful nature in front of you. If you place a wardrobe with a mirror front opposite a window, you will wake up when the sun comes into your home. Sometimes a good mood starts with little things, designers understand this. Only the buyer is often afraid of experiments.

A real joy for both children and parents is a corner wardrobe in a children's room. It will be convenient for parents to clean the room; on the upper shelves you can put the child’s winter clothes and bed linen, and on the lower shelves you can place built-in pull-out shelves in which the baby will put his toys, books, construction sets.

And the greatest joy for a child will be a closet with colorful drawings or photo wallpapers depicting his favorite cartoon characters. The child will be pleased to put his things away in such a bright and colorful closet. And parents will be satisfied that there will be order in the room, because the baby has somewhere to neatly put his toys and there is enough free space in the room to invite friends to play.

Sliding wardrobes in the hallway will help you save space. Unlike ordinary “walls”, on which it is inconvenient to hang things, a sliding wardrobe is very pleasant to use. Inside you can hang a rail for clothes, which is very convenient; you come home, open the closet and hang things there, they don’t gather dust there, but hang in a closed space. At the bottom of the closet you can make shelves for shoes so that all the shoes are not lying under your feet in the hallway. And on the top shelves you can put boxes of shoes that you will wear next season. Usually a mirror is placed on such cabinets in the hallway, which, firstly, will expand the space, and secondly, you will simply see yourself before going outside.

Corner wardrobes - compartments inside

The “filling” of the closet is designed according to your choice, for example, for the hallway you can order a large rail for clothes inside the closet, and for a children’s room, a closet with a large number of retractable shelves. Conventionally, the closet is divided into several zones. The first part is on top; things that are useful only in a certain season are usually placed there, for example, winter clothes are put there in the summer, and summer clothes in the winter. The middle part is considered the main part; rails, shelves, and rods are usually placed there. The bottom shelf is used to store shoes and other things. You can order a model with a basket inside, which is convenient for storing all sorts of small items.

Exterior finishing

There are several options for the external design of cabinets:

mirror radius with photo printing

Corner wardrobes - custom-made compartments

If you want some special and non-standard wardrobe, or dream of creating a unique interior, you have the opportunity to create your own original wardrobe to order. In this case, the customer will take into account all your wishes, the furniture will be original, but the price of such a cabinet will be slightly higher than the price of an existing cabinet. Therefore, before buying a custom cabinet, weigh the pros and cons.

Prices of wardrobes - compartments to order

You will undoubtedly surprise your loved ones and guests with an original custom-made wardrobe, because it will reflect your flight of fancy, but such a wardrobe will cost several times more than a standard one.

Is it possible to install such a cabinet yourself?

In some places, for a fee, workers can come to your home and install the cabinet, but if you want to do it yourself, each sliding wardrobe has its own assembly instructions. The only difference is that the workers will do everything efficiently and quickly, but you will have to tinker.

First of all, evaluate the dimensions of the room in which you want to put a sliding wardrobe; of course, in a large room you can place an ordinary sliding wardrobe, which will take up a lot of space, but will also hold a lot. If your room is small, you should think about a corner cabinet. Here it is better to choose a five-wall wardrobe; this model does not look big, but holds quite a lot of things. It is best to install a trapezoidal cabinet model in a children's room. Don't forget about the beautiful design that will delight your child.

If you have a small hallway in your apartment, it would be advisable to place a small wardrobe in it - a triangular-shaped compartment. This type of cabinet is very convenient to use as a wardrobe. This model will not have many shelves, but there you can place a bar with hangers for outerwear.

To visually expand small rooms, it is best to use light shades of furniture, including large mirrors that also expand the space. For large rooms, dark-colored furniture is more suitable. But here it’s worth choosing furniture to match the interior of your apartment so that everything looks harmonious. Place a bright, colorful wardrobe in the children's room; there is no place for boredom!

And finally, I would like to note that the furniture should please the owner, because he lives here. Choose furniture that suits you and fits into your interior. Good luck with your choice!

Depending on the size of the room and its layout, you can choose different types of corner cabinets:

  • Built-in;
  • Cabinet-mounted or free-standing.

The design of built-in corner wardrobes in the bedroom can be any, according to the needs of a particular family. It is limited only by the size of the area allocated for them and the layout features.

Corner cabinets can be of various shapes:
  • Triangular: they have a triangle in plan. Their advantages are large volume and ease of manufacture, and, therefore, a budget price. The main disadvantage is the significant area that they “take away” from the room.

  • Trapezoidal: in plan they have trapezoids of different shapes. A big plus of such cabinets is that they can be easily combined with the rest of the bedroom furniture.

  • Pentagonal: the most popular and sought after by buyers due to their capacity.

  • Radius: have rounded shapes. The main advantage is the unusual design, suitable for complex interior styles such as art deco and empire. The downside is the complexity of manufacturing and the high price.

  • L-shaped: in plan they form the letter G. A significant advantage of this design is the optimal use of corner spaces. The downside is the simplicity of the design.

A cabinet located in a room must match it in style. It’s good if the corner wardrobe in a small bedroom matches the color of the walls - in this case it will not visually clutter the room. In a large room, you can use contrasting colors to paint the walls and furniture. The determining factor for the appearance of the cabinet is the appearance and shape of its facades. They can be made of the following materials:

  • MDF or fiberboard, covered with film, plastic, or veneered. The most traditional material, used in traditional interior styles.

  • Mirror cloth. Helps visually enlarge the room, corrects poor geometric proportions, and makes the room brighter. A frosted pattern can be applied to the mirror.

  • Special glass increased thickness and strength, both transparent and matte. A layer of varnish, usually colored or photographic, can be applied under the glass, which expands the range of design solutions.

  • Combinations of different materials. For example, chipboard and mirror or chipboard and glass.

Tip: You should not use corner wardrobes in the bedroom with mirrors if they are located opposite the bed, this can negatively affect psychological comfort.

Doors for a corner wardrobe in the bedroom

When choosing a design, it is necessary to take into account, in addition to the size of the corner wardrobe in the bedroom, the way in which its doors will open. Doors can be:

  • Hinged: open in the usual way into the room. The advantages of this design are its simplicity and reliability; swing doors are suitable for most interior styles. Cons – large free space in front of the cabinet, necessary to open the doors. Suitable for large bedrooms.

  • Sliding: they are designed like doors in a train compartment; to open they need to be moved to the side. The main advantage is that no space is required to open the doors; the cabinet can be placed almost close to other pieces of furniture. Minus - the cabinet protects the contents from dust to a lesser extent than a cabinet with traditional doors. Suitable for small bedrooms.

Tip: When choosing a wardrobe mechanism, you should pay special attention to the quality of individual elements. The door movement should be smooth, without jolts or jerks. The fit of the door to the side of the cabinet should be as tight as possible.

Dimensions of a corner wardrobe in the bedroom

Each furniture supplier has its own dimensions of standard products, and there is no single standard for the dimensions of corner cabinets.

Dimensions of corner wardrobes for the average bedroom:

  • Height from 200 to 250 cm,
  • Depth from 50 to 70 cm,
  • Width on each side from 70 to 240 cm.

You can make a custom-made corner cabinet of any configuration according to individual dimensions, thereby maximizing the use of useful (and in some cases, useless at first glance) space.

Inside the closet, as a rule, there is a modern clothing storage system consisting of the following elements:

  • Shelves. They can be made of either wood or metal, and are intended for storing things in boxes, as well as suitcases and other items.
  • Boxes. The pull-out drawers can be used to store various small items of clothing. It is better if they are equipped with a closer for smooth closing.
  • Barbells. This element is used for hanging outerwear on hangers. They can be located at different heights depending on what is intended to be hung. So, for dresses, the height of the opening under the bar should be in the range of 140 - 160 cm, for trousers, skirts or shirts - from 95 to 120 cm.
  • Baskets. Mesh drawer baskets are designed to hold clothes that can be folded, as well as shoes. They are convenient to use, since the contents are always in front of your eyes, and the laundry in them is constantly ventilated. Baskets, like drawers, are equipped with a roller mechanism that allows them to be pulled out completely.

Tip: If the cabinet depth is more than 50 cm, the clothes rail can be placed parallel to the back wall. If the depth is shallower, you can install short rods parallel to the sidewalls.

Even a small corner closet in the bedroom can significantly simplify the task of storing clothes and accessories; if the size of the room allows, then in the corner you can organize a large modern system that allows you to place not only clothes, but also sports equipment, materials and tools for hobbies, and other necessary things in the house.

The bedroom wardrobe can be made in any style and color. To decide which one is suitable in your case, look at the photographs below, they will help you make the right choice.

Not all modern apartments have a large enough space to accommodate a large closet or several closets, so designers began to develop quite aesthetic and ergonomic closets.

Such solutions include corner wardrobes.

Features of this solution

A modern wardrobe is a very good purchase for families with children or pets, because they will not be able to accidentally move the door of such a wardrobe, which means they will be safe from the things stored in the closet.

A distinctive characteristic from a linear cabinet is its location - in the corner of the room, and not along the wall.

This allows you to significantly save space. Also, its location allows you to creatively approach its modeling: triangular, rectangular or five-wall cabinet.

Another feature of this cabinet is its versatility.

The variety of designs and colors allows it to be used in absolutely all living spaces: office, living room, children's room, bedroom.

The disadvantages of a corner cabinet are the same as those of linear cabinets: guide rails that take up about 10 cm of the internal area and require constant care and keeping clean.

Corner wardrobes for different rooms

The living room is the most important part of any apartment. This is what guests see, this is where family and other celebrations take place.

Therefore, you should carefully consider the placement of furniture and things in the room. To solve this problem, a stylish wardrobe is suitable, rationalizing space and hiding things that are not used in everyday life from view. And due to the different layouts, such a cabinet will fit into any area.

In a spacious living room, a corner wardrobe can become a continuation of a modular wall or a linear wardrobe, which will add coziness and home comfort.

In a small living room you should put a wardrobe with mirrors. This will add spaciousness and light to the room.

There are also models with a rounded design, which are divided into concave, convex and concave-convex.

Such a cabinet will allow you to create an exclusive design and originality. And the installed LED lighting will allow you to solve the problem of lighting the living room in an original way.

When choosing a color palette for the external decor of a corner wardrobe, it is worth considering the area. For a large living room, black and chocolate colors are very suitable, and for a small living room, white or another light tone.

Bedroom. For your bedroom you should choose light or mirrored corner wardrobes with a radius design. This approach will create romance and expand the space.

It is better to place such a wardrobe along a wall with a doorway, opposite the bed or in the corner of a wall with a window opening, and place a chest of drawers in the same color next to the window.

Children's room. Here, the imagination of parents and children is not limited to ready-made color solutions.

At the moment, you can order facades with images of your favorite fairy-tale or cartoon characters or in the same style as the children's: space, underwater depths, sky with airplanes.

The capacity of such cabinets will allow you to remove toys that get in the way on the floor. The upper shelves can be dedicated to bedding or rarely used items, since children cannot reach them.

Hallway. Even for the smallest hallways you can find the ideal solution that will greatly save space.

In the corner wardrobe you can divide the space for storing summer and winter clothes and shoes. And equip the facade with a large mirror for convenience and visually expanding the volume of the room.

Wardrobe from the inside

Separately, it is worth noting the internal structure of the corner wardrobes. The inside of a cabinet can be as unique as the outside. But this applies more to custom-made wardrobes.

If you use a ready-made solution, then the corner wardrobe from the inside can be divided into three functional sections:

  • at the top there is a large shelf for things that are used extremely rarely;
  • the middle part, equipped with shelves, hooks, rods for items of constant wear;
  • the bottom shelf is for shoes in the hallway or other things in the other rooms.

More expensive models of corner wardrobes are made-to-order models. Inside, such cabinets are equipped with various kinds of additional compartments and fastenings, and its external design can be made in any style.

In this case, it is worth considering several factors on which the price will depend: the complexity of the order, material, dimensions, the presence of additional components and lighting.

DIY installation

Almost any modern corner wardrobes do not require special skills and knowledge in the field of joinery and carpentry, and the kits themselves are equipped with detailed instructions that allow you to assemble the wardrobe yourself.

How to choose a wardrobe

To make the right choice, you should first look at a photo of a corner wardrobe on the Internet or in store catalogs. This will make it easier to navigate through various model solutions.

For small rooms, a five-wall wardrobe would be a good option, as they have a large volume and do not reduce visual space. For a child's room, you should take a closer look at trapezoid-shaped cabinets.

They can become an extension of the crib or hanging shelves.

It is better to install a triangle wardrobe in the hallway, which can replace a dressing room. These models have a small number of shelves, which means they can accommodate a sufficient number of hangers for clothes.

Solutions from IKEA

The advantages of ready-made solutions from IKEA stores are:

  • big choice;
  • quality-price correspondence;
  • neutral design will fit a fashionable wardrobe into any interior design;
  • intuitive installation;
  • the ability to select other modules with a similar color scheme.

IKEA models do not have many disadvantages, namely a relatively short service life and extremely standard sizes.

Elite corner wardrobes

In the case of a design approach and the expectation of long-term service, you should think about buying or ordering luxury wardrobes.

Such options have many advantages: quality, environmental safety, durability, sophistication of execution.

The pricing policy and the impossibility of changing the interior without changing the design of the corner wardrobe are the most important disadvantages.

All of the above indicates that a corner wardrobe is the best option for those who want to save space and create an original design. They are practical and convenient.

Photos of corner wardrobes in the interior

The corner option of placing a wardrobe in the living room space will free up a lot of free space in the rest of the apartment. Due to its dimensions, this furniture will allow you to accommodate a large number of things that previously occupied useful space. The main task is to correctly arrange this piece of furniture so that the operation of the cabinet is as convenient as possible.

1. Features of corner models

Advantages:

  • It occupies the corner part of the room, and accordingly allows you to economically use the remaining space;
  • Due to great demand, manufacturers offer a varied selection of models: there are not only rectangular cabinets, but also five-wall or trapezoidal. The wide range also applies to the color palette;
  • Spacious furniture. Many shelves can be mounted inside the modules, which form an impressive storage area. The layout of the departments inside can be made to order, based on the personal preferences of the customer;

Flaws:

  • The special shape allows for only corner placement;
  • The mechanism for moving the door leaves takes up part of the usable space inside the cabinet;
  • During operation, regular maintenance is required - you need to ensure the cleanliness of the mechanism.

2. Built-in wardrobes to order

Corner built-in radial-shaped furniture is an excellent option for combining several functional areas in one room.

For small rooms, it is better to use a wardrobe with sliding doors that occupy the entire wall. This design creates a spacious storage area that does not visually stand out in the living room space.

Sliding wardrobe (chipboard frame, frosted glass inserts).

Characteristic features of the design: the absence of a back wall, floor and ceiling. The frame is formed from doors, side walls, shelves and partitions.

The facades are made of lacobel with photo printing.

Such furniture will allow you to economically and effectively arrange the room, while at the same time getting a convenient place for storage.

3. Freestanding (not built-in) cabinets

The free-standing model, unlike the built-in version, has a back wall element, a floor and a ceiling. Sometimes, to update the interior of the living room, it is enough to change the position of the cabinet. Such furniture can be easily rearranged.

Corner wardrobe with laminated chipboard fronts and glass inserts.

Freestanding furniture is well suited for living rooms with high ceilings (>2.7 m). But the built-in structures will look bulky.

Disadvantages of this option:

  1. loss of usable space due to the floor, plinth, ceiling
  2. fits worse into the living room interior

Common sizes

Standard sizes of finished products in furniture showrooms

  • Length: 1300, 1500, 1600, 1800, 2000, 2700 mm;
  • Height: 2000, 2400 mm.

Most often, cabinets are designed to specific dimensions, but there are design features that should be taken into account during the planning process.

Optimal dimensions

  • The height of the base strip is 7-10 cm;
  • Depth: 60 cm - external, 50 - internal shelves. This parameter can be changed within reasonable limits;
  • The width of the external radial console is 300 mm (attached element);
  • Width of shelves inside the cabinet: 40-100 cm.

You should not go beyond the limit values, otherwise the elements will sag.

  • Distance between compartments inside: 30 cm (height);
  • Recommended rod length: 80-100 (it is not advisable to increase this parameter, since deflection is possible);
  • The distance between the rods in height: 1.6 m - for long items, 0.8 m - for short ones.

To adjust these values, it is better to start from your personal wardrobe.

  • Linear dimensions of drawers: width - from 0.4 to 0.8 m, height - from 0.1 to 0.3 m. If a width of more than 0.6 m is required, it is better to use chipboard material for the bottom (if When using fiberboard, there will be a deflection).

4. What materials are used for facades

  • Mirror.

The mirror surface will increase the area visually. This effect is necessary for decorating small living rooms.

  • Sandblasted mirror.

A similar design is applied to a mirror surface. The drawing remains unchanged for a long time.

  • Chipboard.
    One of the most popular options for creating furniture. Main properties: high strength, economical material with a long service life.

Thanks to modern technologies, chipboard slabs are laminated to produce material of any shade. A common texture of laminated chipboard is imitation wood.
The main disadvantage: due to the special texture of laminated chipboard, it cannot become the basis for the formation of an elegant design.

  • MDF+chipboard.
    MDF boards are more environmentally friendly than chipboard materials; their structure allows them to be made into different shapes. The surface can be glossy or matte, the palette of MDF shades is varied.
  • Natural wood.
    Advantages: environmental friendliness, reliability, long-term operation.
    Disadvantage: high price.
  • Lakobel- glass, which on one side is painted with a certain composition. In order to increase strength, the top layer is created using a transparent film.

There is a large selection of lacobel colors; the price range for the material is also different.

  • Lakomat- matte float glass, with a glossy back surface. During the production process of varnish, a special varnish is applied to only one side. This method of application creates a mirror effect. This material is resistant to fingerprints on the surface.
  • Textures of exotic trees (rattan, bamboo, etc.).
    Exotic wood species can be used as a decorative insert for doors. The main advantage of this choice is the natural texture and organic design.

5. Attachable modules

An open shelving module is often used to complement a wardrobe. Interior decor, indoor flowers and other items are placed on the shelves.

6. Ideas for internal content

In addition to drawers, the following filling options are interesting:

  • Cellular storage cells- shelves and baskets, for the production of which vinyl-coated steel is used. This solution allows air to circulate freely, and the through design does not clutter up the space. If it is necessary to place an item with large dimensions, these elements can be temporarily removed.

  • Hanger-lift(mechanical or automatic lifting system).

The most successful option is to arrange several filling options in the space of one wardrobe.
