A profiled membrane is a LDPE geomembrane with a distinctive feature: the presence of many hollow protrusions on the surface. Their height ranges from 7 to 20 mm. The protrusions are arranged in an orderly manner on one side of the material and do not interfere with its bending.
Thanks to the presence of protrusions, the pressure is evenly distributed over the entire area of the professional membrane, which avoids point deformation. When used as ventilation insulation, a profiled geomembrane ensures heat exchange inside the structure. Due to its characteristics, the professional membrane can replace granular drainage materials, which will significantly save money and effort.
Advantages of a profiled geomembrane:
Professional membrane is used for the construction of such objects as:
Protective profiled membranes are divided into 3 types.
The technology for laying a profiled membrane depends on its area of application.
Inertness, heat resistance, non-flammability, low friction coefficient are properties that characterize fluoroplastic sheets. about the areas of application of the material.

The profiled membrane combines the properties necessary to ensure reliable waterproofing. The high resistance of the material to almost all types of impact made it possible to use professional membranes both for private housing construction and for commercial and industrial construction. Wide range of applications, reliability, various design options and affordable price made this material a leader in its segment.
The profiled membrane (PLANTER) is a sheet of high-density polyethylene (HPDE) with molded round protrusions 8 mm high.
The surface of the planter effectively distributes soil pressure over the entire area of the base or foundation of buildings and structures. This eliminates the formation of local (point) loads.
The space between the wall and the planter canvas, formed by the protrusions, allows air to circulate freely, improving the temperature and humidity conditions of the room.
Planter is characterized by high mechanical strength and resistance to chemically aggressive environments, is not susceptible to the destructive effects of mold and bacteria, and is resistant to the germination of tree roots.
The planter can be laid both horizontally and vertically. If necessary, you can weld the sheets together along a specially provided flat edge.
The main function of PLANTER membranes is to protect the waterproofing layer and organize wall drainage. PLANTER has high strength characteristics and is also resistant to chemical aggression, mold and bacteria, and plant roots.

Membrane PLANTER– geosynthetic material produced by TechnoNIKOL. TechnoNIKOL is the largest supplier of waterproofing materials and roofing coatings.
The Planter membrane is made from high-density polyethylene (HDPE). It is a surface with rounded protrusions, the diameter of which is 8 mm.
A layer of thermally bonded geotextile is additionally attached to the PLANTER geo membrane on top. This layer prevents silting of the material.
Due to its unusual structure (with protrusions), when pressure is applied to the Planter membrane, it is evenly distributed over the entire area. In this case, individual point loads are completely eliminated.
Protrusions on the surface of the membrane promote free air circulation between the canvas and the wall, normalizing the temperature and humidity conditions of the room.
Planter is a very durable membrane that is resistant to aggressive (chemical) environments, mold, bacteria, and ultraviolet radiation.
When used, two options for the location of the membrane are possible - vertical and horizontal. To connect individual membrane sheets together, welding is used along the flat edge of the membrane.
TechnoNIKOL company offers comprehensive solutions for moisture protection of residential buildings and commercial facilities. Waterproofing systems have been developed using several types of materials. The product line includes everything you need: from primers, insulation boards to protective membranes. Planter is a new development from the manufacturer: a universal material with a wide range of applications. Planter protective fabric is used as the top layer of a waterproofing system, a primary drainage material, and replaces the concrete layer in preparation for pouring the foundation and constructing areas for laying paving slabs.
Planter membrane is a rolled synthetic protective material. Hollow spikes are pressed into the polymer canvas in a checkerboard pattern.
Automation and control: production facilities
Manufacturing material – high density polyethylene. PVP is produced using extrusion technology. The production process is automated, and adherence to technology is strictly controlled at each stage. To produce particularly durable polyethylene, a special formula of raw materials has been developed. The fabrics are entirely pressed, without seams.
Planter membrane: a universal product
Polyethylene for making planter is a high-strength fabric with a uniform, dense internal structure, which has increased elasticity and resistance to any type of damage.
Advantages:
The TechnoNIKOL company produces profiled Planter membranes for use in private and industrial construction. Main functions:
Water drainage and wall protection from capillary moisture
There are 2 product types in the Planter line of profiled membranes:
The TechnoNIKOL company offers Planter Standard for protecting the structures of low-rise private houses. Extra level materials are intended for work at large industrial facilities, in difficult soils, and at significant depths.
Planter Standard is a universal membrane designed for use in the construction of private and commercial buildings. The thickness of the canvas is 0.55 mm. The length of the membrane in a roll is 20 m.
Application:
Among the profiled products of TechnoNIKOL is the Planter Eco membrane. The canvas is not inferior in functionality to a Standard level product. The physical characteristics and internal structure of the material are optimized for use in private construction. The strength and elasticity of the membrane is sufficient for installing protective systems in low-rise buildings, inside and outside basements located at shallow depths.
Eco: budget alternative
Also, the Eco Planter profile membrane can be used as a replacement for a concrete pad under the foundation in stable, dry soils, with a depth of up to 1.5 - 3 m, for arranging a base for tiles in private courtyards. The thickness of the material is standard, 0.55 m. The roll contains a solid sheet 20 m long.
Extra: material for complex objects
An increased strength membrane – Planter Extra – has been developed for use in industrial construction. Canvases are used:
The strength and elasticity of material marked Extra exceeds that of standard fabrics by almost 2 times. Weight is 0.8 kg per meter.
Planter Geo membrane is a two-layer material. A water-permeable material – geotextile – is attached to a base made of profiled polyethylene. The membrane performs the following functions:
The canvas, which is attached to the spikes, allows moisture to pass through, but retains soil particles and debris. Channels, which are formed by protrusions on the surface of the polyethylene, drain water to the drainage pipe. Multilayer fabrics are fixed on horizontal and vertical surfaces. The material is used when organizing wall drainage lines, reservoir drainage layers, and surface drainage systems at sites where tiles are planned to be laid.
Cloth for use in difficult conditions: Extra Geo
Reinforced profiled membrane Planter Geo Extra is a professional material for use:
Extra class material differs from Standard products in increased weight, denser internal structure and improved strength and load resistance.
Characteristics
In addition to membrane roll materials, the manufacturer’s line includes all the necessary accompanying materials for fixing the fabric to different types of surfaces and connecting strips in the vertical and horizontal plane.
Planter Profile polyethylene profile is made from high-density polymer. The products are designed for pressing the fabric onto waterproofing sheathings. Install the profile on top of the profile membrane, above the waterproofing materials. The polymer strip also performs a protective function: the profile prevents moisture from entering the insulating layers.
The following are used as fasteners for rolled profile sheets:
Plastic dowel with self-adhesive base
To connect membrane strips to each other, use:
Aluminum based sealant
The technology for laying profiled Planter membranes is quite simple. To fix the canvases, when using connecting materials recommended by the manufacturer, the use of hot gluing methods and special tools is not required.
Installation of membrane protection is carried out both outside buildings and on the internal walls of wet rooms. For installation in private homes, choose a product of the Standard or Eco level. When it is necessary to connect a membrane to a wall drainage line, it is rational to use material with geotextiles.
Planter Standard membrane sheets, when fixed to a vertical wall, can be laid horizontally and vertically.
Laying fabric with a geotextile layer
The upper edge of the canvas should be 15–20 cm above the waterproofing installation line. When installing a decorative coating, excess material can be trimmed. To fix the sheet, an edge clamping bar is attached.
Aligning edges when mounted vertically
The canvases are laid overlapping. The edges of adjacent strips should be aligned with an overlap of 3 to 4 protrusions. When laying, the seams of the joints are sealed with bitumen-based adhesive tape.
The sheets are fixed using dowels or plastic fasteners if it is necessary to connect the membrane to the bitumen layer.
As preparation for the foundation, Planter Standard is laid directly on the ground. The base must be level, free from hard rocky inclusions. The soil must be compacted. It is allowed to create a gravel cushion up to 10 cm high.
The canvases are rolled out. Be sure to check that folds and creases do not form on the strips. The first roll can be rolled out along the marked line, with the spikes facing down. The following strips are laid with overlapping edges.
Aluminum tape connection
The edges are connected with reinforced tape on an aluminum base.
Connecting strips to textile layer
When using a fabric with a geotextile layer, the edges of the fabrics are connected in two stages. The textile layer is folded back, the polyethylene base is connected with adhesive tape, and the connection is duplicated after laying the edges of the textile.
Inside residential premises, the membrane is laid with the spikes facing up. The membrane performs the function of sound insulation and thermal insulation, protection against moisture infiltration, especially on the first floors. The canvases are laid end to end. The seams between the sheets are taped with polymer-bitumen tape.
Detailed instructions from the manufacturer on the use of Planter Standard profiled membrane.
The use of membrane materials instead of classical concrete preparation in the construction of foundations is economically beneficial. The costs of arranging the foundation are reduced significantly. In order not to overpay, choose the optimal class of material: for private construction, it is enough to purchase budget Eco canvases. If you need to calculate the number of rolls and choose the type of membrane for a large construction project, contact specialists, because the calculations take into account not only the area and number of floors of the building, but also the characteristics of the soil.
Application of profiled membranesPLANTER is currently the simplest, most reliable and easiest way to protect waterproofing.
System advantages:
The durability of the foundation directly depends on the durability of the material of its construction. The main building material used for the construction of foundations is concrete, a strong and reliable material, but with constant contact with wet soil it collapses and loses its bearing capacity, therefore it needs protection from the negative influence of soil and moisture. The more reliable the protection, the longer the foundation will last. To protect concrete, waterproofing is used, as a rule, these are “soft” thin-layer roll or mastic coatings based on modified bitumen, which are quite durable and stable in contact with the ground, but “delicate” and need protection from mechanical damage, punctures and tears. And, as you know, the main causes of problems in technical basements are the appearance of damp spots or water leaks.
Protection of waterproofing along the entire perimeter of the building with profiled membranes PLANTER allows you to avoid mechanical damage to waterproofing during backfilling, increase the reliability of the waterproofing material, thereby extending its service life, and also reduce financial costs in comparison with traditional methods: pressure wall and flat slate. In addition to protecting the waterproofing, the profiled surface of the membrane provides a ventilation gap between the soil and the waterproofing material, thereby creating a favorable microclimate near the foundation walls.
Molded projections of the membrane evenly distribute soil pressure on the waterproofing, while point loads are kept to a minimum. The high compressive strength (up to 28 t/m2) allows the use of the PLANTER srandard TECHNONICOL membrane even with a significant foundation depth.
Such types of work are regulated by relevant documents, among them the Code of Rules 45.13330.2012 “Earth structures, foundations and foundations” can be highlighted, which provides a reference to the use of profiled membranes.
