Keys to the vocabulary and grammar test

"MemoryTester" - a program for testing memory

Program "MemoryTester"

Description: Testing is carried out on two-digit numbers (00 - 99).

Introductory testing. The introductory test is intended to determine background memory capabilities (for persons beginning to learn mnemonics). In the introductory test, the number of numbers presented is fixed and equal to 20. The time for presenting each number is fixed and equal to 6 seconds.

Formula for calculating the memorization coefficient in this case simple S = P: 5 ,
Where WITH— coefficient of increase in memorization ability (compared to the norm taken as one); P 5 - coefficient (the number of correct answers given by the majority of people who are not trained in mnemonics).

After showing 20 numbers, the program presents 5 simple examples for addition or subtraction. This is necessary to displace information from the speech analyzer (information briefly stored in the speech analyzer is not memory, but just residual phenomena in nerve cells). This procedure is called “homogeneous interference” - clearing short term memory the same material that was memorized (example numbers).

Exam mode.
The parameters are fixed. You can only select the number of numbers presented by the program (from 20 to 1000, with a gradation of 10 numbers). In mode "Exam" restrictions are introduced on the speed of memorization (on average, a number is given 11.85 seconds, but you can memorize a number for 30 seconds, the main thing is that the time for memorizing all numbers is not exceeded, for example, if there are 20 of them, then the time for testing is 20* 11.85) and by the number of errors (10% of the number of numbers presented by the program is acceptable).

Calculation of the “Coefficient of increase in memorization ability”.
Compare memory ability different people not so easy. Who remembered better, the one who remembered faster, but made more mistakes? Or the one who remembered more slowly, but made fewer mistakes? Or the one who remembered more, but slowly. Or less, but very quickly?

The above formula allows you to average three indicators (the total number of memorized numbers, the number of correct answers, memorization time) and combine them into one coefficient, by which it is convenient to compare the memorization ability of different people.

C = (P + (k - T/6)) / 5,
Where WITH— coefficient of increase in memorization ability (compared to the norm);
P— number of correct answers;
To
- the number of memorized numbers;
T
total time, spent on memorization (in seconds, up to hundredths);
6
— coefficient reflecting the standard memorization time (6 seconds per number);
5 — coefficient reflecting the memorization ability of a person not trained in mnemonics (norm).
