LABORATORY WORK No. 2

MEASUREMENT OF PART DIMENSIONS USING THE ABSOLUTE METHOD

Goal of the work:

Explanation of the concept of an absolute measurement method;

Mastering the selection technique, measuring instrument By
measurement accuracy;

Study of the design of calipers, vernier depth gauges and
micrometer, their metrological characteristics;

Acquiring the skill of using calipers, calipers
depth gauge and micrometer.

The concept of the absolute measurement method

Measurement of linear dimensions is performed absolute and relative
telny methods.

With the absolute method, the measurement result is read
directly according to the shown measuring instrument. A distinctive feature of measuring instruments for absolute measurements is the presence of line measures (linear scales) with which the measured value is compared. The accuracy of measuring instruments for absolute measurements is limited by the manufacturing accuracy of the scales.

The most common measuring instruments for
absolute measurements are caliper tools and micrometers
ical tools.

Device, technical specifications and methodology

measurements with caliper ShTs-II (GOST 166-80)

Vernier calipers are designed to measure internal and
will violate the dimensions by the absolute method.

The design of the ShTs-II caliper (see Fig. 1) is shown in
rice. I. The caliper has two scales: the main one is on
rod 7, additional one is located on vernier 9. Lower pair
sponges are used for external and internal measurements; top pair
pointed jaws are used for marking, as well as for
external measurements.

Vernier reading value, mm - 0.05 or 01
Measurement error, mm + (0.05 or 0.1)

Sequence of change. When measuring with a caliper
the measuring surfaces of the jaws are adjusted to the required size
by contact with the surface being tested, checking at
This ensures that their position is correct (no distortions and normal force when moving), secure frame 3, and read the readings.

When measuring external dimensions, the part is compressed by the internal measuring surfaces of the lower nubs.

When measuring internal dimensions, external measuring
the surfaces of the lower jaws are brought into contact with the walls of the hole. In this case, the thickness of the jaws indicated on them is added to the readings of the caliper.

Verniers . 1. Vernier with a reading value of 0.05 mm. The length of the vernier is 39 mm, it is divided into 20 parts. The vernier division interval is 39:20 = 1.05 mm, i.e. 0.05 mm less than a whole number.” Value C = 0.05 mm and is the vernier reading value.

2. Vernier with a reading value of 0.1 mm. The length of the vernier is
19 mm, it is divided into 10 parts. One division of the vernier is 19:10 » 1.9 mm i.e. 0.1 mm less than a whole number.
C=0.1 mm is the reading value along the vernier.
At zero reading, the vernier stroke is located to the nearest
to the right of the bar stroke at a distance of 9 equal to the value countdown
(0.05 or 0.1 mm) multiplied by the serial number of the vernier stroke, not counting zero.

Reading readings on a caliper.

An integer number of millimeters is counted on the rod scale 7 from left to right with a vernier stroke. The fractional value is determined by multiplying the vernier reading value (0.05 or 0.1 mm) by the serial number of the vernier stroke (not counting zero) that exactly matches the rod stroke. Thus, the reading of the measured quantity A on a vernier scale consists of the reading of whole divisions on the scale of the rod and the reading of the fractional part of the division on the vernier scale, i.e.

where A is the measured value;

N is the integer number of divisions of the rod scale, indicated by the zero stroke of the vernier;

K - number of the vernier stroke (not counting zero) exactly matching any stroke of the rod scale;

C – vernier reading value.

Examples of reading on a caliper with verniers having
The reading value of 0.05 or 0.1 mm is shown in Fig. 2.

2.19. (Deleted, Amendment No. 2).

2.20. (Deleted, Amendment No. 1).

2.21-2.24. (Excluded, Amendment No. 2).

2.25. Completeness

2.25.1. Each caliper must be accompanied by operational documentation in accordance with GOST 2.601*.
________________
* GOST 2.601-2006 is in force on the territory of the Russian Federation. - Database manufacturer's note.

2.25.2. At the customer's request, calipers of types II and III are equipped with a device for marking.

2.26. Marking

2.26.1. Each caliper must be marked with:
manufacturer's trademark;
serial number according to the manufacturer's numbering system;
symbol Year of release;
vernier reading value or division value;
size (for type II and III calipers with one vernier or one scale, Fig. 3-4) on one of the jaws;
accuracy class 2 (for calipers with a vernier reading value or a scale division value of 0.1 mm);
the word "Internal" on a scale for measuring internal dimensions.
(Changed edition, Amendment No. 2).

2.26.2. It is allowed not to indicate the serial number in the operational documentation.

2.26.3. Marking on the case is in accordance with GOST 13762.
The name or symbol of the caliper is applied only on the hard case.

2.27. Package

2.27.1. Methods and means for degreasing and preserving calipers - according to GOST 9.014.

2.27.2. Vernier calipers must be packaged in cases made of materials in accordance with GOST 13762. For vernier calipers with an upper limit of up to 630 mm inclusive, soft packaging is allowed.

2.27.3. When transported in containers, calipers with a measurement limit of over 400 mm may be packed in cases without transport packaging.
When packing without transport containers, cases with calipers must be secured so that the possibility of their movement is excluded.

3. ACCEPTANCE

3.1. To check the compliance of calipers with the requirements of this standard, state tests, acceptance inspection, and periodic tests should be carried out.
(Changed edition, Amendment No. 2).

3.2. State tests - according to GOST 8.383* and GOST 8.001*.

* PR 50.2.009-94** applies on the territory of the Russian Federation.
** The document is not valid on the territory of the Russian Federation. The procedure for testing standard samples or measuring instruments for the purpose of type approval, the Procedure for approving the type of standard samples or the type of measuring instruments, the Procedure for issuing certificates of approval of the type of standard samples or the type of measuring instruments, establishing and changing the validity period of these certificates and the interval between verifications of measuring instruments are in effect. , Requirements for type approval marks of standard samples or type of measuring instruments and the procedure for their application, approved by Order of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia dated November 30, 2009 N 1081. - Note from the database manufacturer.

Checking the errors of calipers at a temperature of (20±10) °C is carried out only during state tests.

3.3. During acceptance inspection, each caliper is checked for compliance with the requirements of clause 1.3; 1.4; 1.6; 1.8; 2.3-2.10; 2.12.4; 2.16; 2.18; 2.25; 2.26.

3.4. Periodic testing carried out at least once every 3 years on at least 3 calipers of each standard size from those that have passed acceptance control for compliance with all the requirements of this standard.

Test results are considered satisfactory if all samples meet all tested requirements.

The calipers in the package are attached to the stand and tested with a total number of impacts of 15,000. After testing, the error of the calipers should not exceed the values specified in Table 3.
It is allowed to test calipers by transporting them on a truck at a speed of 20-40 km/h over a distance of at least 100 km along a dirt road.

4.3. Impact of climatic factors external environment during transportation, they are determined in climatic chambers in the following modes: at a temperature of minus (50±3) °C, plus (50±3) °C and at humidity (95±3)%. Exposure in the climatic chamber for each of the three types of tests is 2 hours. After the tests, the error of the calipers should not exceed the values indicated in Table 3.
It is allowed, after holding the calipers in each mode, to keep it under normal conditions for 2 hours.
