Many people wonder if learning the Korean language is difficult and in what time frame it is possible to understand it. All training is carried out as individually as possible. Is it easy to learn the Korean language - only with great motivation, learning will proceed without problems, because a person is maximally interested in getting a high result.
Each student learns differently. Anyone who has previously studied German and English finds the Korean language quite difficult. However, comparing it with Japanese, Vietnamese or Chinese languages, we can confidently say that its development is much easier. The characters of the Korean alphabet are simpler than the Japanese ones, and audio pronunciation is also easier for all students.
Why learn Korean, since it is not as widespread as Chinese or Japanese? In fact, it is very important for those who want to go to study or work in South Korea.

Learning Korean on your own is difficult to say the least. And the point here is not even the phonetic component (although it is also very important) - it is difficult to understand and sort out the very large abundance of hieroglyphs. Officially, there are only 24 letters in the Korean language, but there are also letter combinations (about 40) and more than 3,000 characters from Chinese. The result is a mass of combinations that are at least alien to European people.

For beginners, it is very important to start learning the language from the basics - from the alphabet. Simply memorized phrases or words without this knowledge are dead, which means they are practically useless. If you've ever taught foreign language, then you know that you need to start with the simplest. When learning at home, after studying all (or at least the basic) hieroglyphs, you can start learning colors and counting. It is also appropriate to memorize basic phrases:
This is enough for a minimal tourist vocabulary to not get lost in South Korea. But if you want more - to work legally or study in this country, then you will have to work hard. The same can be said about a tour to North Korea - the language rules of these ideologically diametrical countries are absolutely the same.
Let's start with the fact that in 15 minutes or 15 days you will not succeed - at best, you will be able to master several of the most popular phrases. However, this applies to any language in the world - it takes time to learn it.
It is very difficult to say how long it will take to do this. It all depends on your individual abilities, as well as how much time you will spend on it daily. But in any case, learning even the alphabet and a few of the most “necessary” words will take at least a month. Plus - phonetics and grammar, because learning to read and write is also important. Therefore, if you want to significantly speed up your learning, you simply need special courses.

The main difficulty in learning the Korean language is caused by the abundance of hieroglyphs. Their combination is far from any European language, which means it is a priori difficult. Is it worth focusing on this? Of course not (provided that you really need this knowledge).
However, I repeat, you need to start with the basics. Do not rush to take on new vocabulary until you have fully learned and understood the previous material. Remember - without knowing the basic rules of reading and grammar, even memorizing a hundred phrases will not make you a language expert and will not help you master colloquial speech. You will simply know 100 phrases in Korean. Therefore, it is very important that your training is as complete and comprehensive as possible. This is precisely the main thing in the question of whether it is possible to master the Korean language.
Many people are simply interested in the burning question - which is better, Chinese or Korean? Let's start with the fact that all three main eastern languages are good in their own way. But what is easier to study is a completely rhetorical question. It all depends on what you want to get in the end. If you plan to work or study in these countries, then it is most logical to choose the language of the land where you are going. If you just want to touch on Oriental studies, the question is completely different. These languages, like all in their groups, have a lot in common, but they also have more than enough differences. It is traditionally believed that the simplest eastern language is Japanese. But this is a purely subjective opinion - for some, Chinese even looks rustic. Korean is a more unique language, because in addition to hieroglyphic writing, it contains sounds and letters that you also need to be able to connect.

The process of learning the Korean language is quite long and troublesome. Therefore, if you just want to learn another language for self-development, it’s better to take some European one. Of course, knowing Korean is a rather exotic feature, but it is disproportionate to the efforts made.

At the same time, no one will force you to go there all the time - take the necessary foundation for studying at home. The same applies to language courses for children - the basics are also taught there, with the expectation that all other knowledge will already be given by a teacher or tutor.
Many people believe that a simple textbook is enough to learn any language. Yes, indeed, with it you can learn all the rules of reading, grammar and other subtleties of learning, but it is much better if you add various additional materials to it.
These can be bilingual books - this is when one story is told in several languages at once. It is also worth paying attention to language learning apps in game form. They usually complement the textbooks and program presented in it. It can be various games, aimed at developing visual memory and, as a result, memorizing more hieroglyphs and words, colors, objects, numbers.
Various audio programs aimed at developing auditory memory and capturing sounds by ear are also very helpful.
It would also be a good idea to watch various films with subtitles. This way you will automatically note the most popular words and how they sound correctly. But remember, you still won’t be able to get the full amount of knowledge.
If you need a fairly in-depth study of a subject, then distance learning is what you need. This format of study is offered by many universities that specialize in Oriental studies. Typically, institutes provide sufficiently deep knowledge, which is enough to enter a foreign university. educational institution. But it is worth noting that such lessons are quite expensive, which means that only those who are firmly focused on traveling abroad can use them.
If you already have a spoken and reading foundation of the Korean language, then the question of where to start is not so pressing - it is enough to develop and increase the knowledge acquired previously. Is this path difficult? Of course, yes, because the subject is difficult at any stage of study.
Whether to learn Korean or not is everyone’s personal choice, but if you are aiming for results, then it’s not enough to just buy a tutorial. You need to work daily and constantly!

And these readers of mine will be wrong!
Even if this is not the language of your ancestors, this does not mean that you do not need it.

Naturally, the study should begin with mastering its alphabet.
The Korean language has a system of hieroglyphs that seem very exotic to people accustomed to the Cyrillic or Latin alphabet, but this is only at first.
The alphabet that is still used today was invented in the mid-15th century during the government of the Joseon Imperial Dynasty.
Now there are only 24 letters (consonants - 14, vowels - 10), but do not rush to rejoice at this discovery, because there are also double consonants and vowels, together with which we get as many as 40 letters.
And that’s not all the “good” news: the Koreans decided that their own hieroglyphs were not enough for them, so they borrowed another 3,000 wondrous characters from the Chinese.
They are used to refer specifically to Chinese words and concepts.
If you have just started studying, then do not touch these for now. Chinese characters, focus on the basic alphabet.
Once you have mastered the alphabet, move on to memorizing basic words:
