Historical erotic photographs. Sacred erotica of ancient Egypt. Tale and stories from the collection “Modern... Lev Kuklin

I'm a child of the 90s. I remember the time without mobile phones . I remember Tamagotchis, yo-yos and the first computer consoles. And, of course, clothes. At that time I was still a child and did not think about what to wear to school. But my older sisters felt all the chic fashion of the end of the millennium.

What did you wear in the 90s?

In the last two years, I've noticed that some things from the 90s have had a resurgence in popularity. For example, high-waisted jeans, crop tops and giant platform shoes. But 90s fashion had its own peculiarities:

  • versatility;
  • brightness;
  • multilayer;
  • lack of rules and style.

While combined absolutely incompatible things. For example, a short-sleeved T-shirt could be worn over a turtleneck. Or several objects peeked out from under one another. Today teenagers love this style.

At that time it spread unisex style. Wide T-shirts, jackets, jeans and sneakers have earned their place in the closets of both men and women. Became popular jeans. In the 90s, animal activists became more active, so wearing real fur was even dangerous. Therefore, it was replaced with an artificial one.

Total Recall - fashion trends

Leggings! This is what I primarily remembered about the fashion of the 90s. Fashionistas wore them everywhere - to the store, to the cinema, to the disco. Their feature was very bright colors. But leggings were just the first step. The main thing in the image was wide sports jacket. A high ponytail, bright elastic bands, lipstick and eye shadow - and it was a sensation! A guys combined this jacket with chains around the neck.

And here Oboobs on a huge platform Not everyone could afford it. These were shoes purely for showing off because walking in them was somewhat problematic. In the cold season, they wore voluminous jackets, long raincoats and leather jackets. And I also remember T-shirts with Leonardo. After the release of the movie "Titanic" it was a must-have item in every girl's wardrobe.

Whereas serious men had to wear man purses. Such people were feared and respected. And who doesn’t remember the famous Boys sweaters? They were worn by everyone: from young to old. I had one too, and there is even a photo.

I myself was born in 1988, so I remember the nineties period better than anyone and I know how they dressed at that time. At my dacha I even have things from those years that I now take to the garden or for a run to the stall behind the dacha cooperative. The way they dressed in the 90s cannot be described in one word - an entire era has passed away along with the fashion of those years!

How they dressed in the 90s: fashion signs

After the collapse of the Union and the fall of the so-called “Iron Curtain”, fashion from Western countries filled the vastness of the post-Soviet space. The abundance of clothes of different cuts, materials and styles was simply indescribable. The markets were inundated with “new products” for those who didn’t have time to look around Soviet man. These included:

One more fashion trend those years, as I remember now, there were bags worn on the belt And backpacks from leatherette. By the way, this fashion is relevant and is actively being revived at the present time!

Shoes from the 90s

I’ll tell you separately about shoes. In the mid-90s, he literally burst into the fashion world long pointed toe. I had white patent leather boots with a long toe, my mother wore black ones with stiletto heels, my older friend wore brown leather ones.

It was uncomfortable to wear them - the sock caught on the steps and quickly fell into disrepair.

Another trend is powerful platform. My music teacher wore boots with huge platforms.

Among summer shoes, in the 90s I preferred sneakers. Classic white ones with cork soles and three stripes were just a cry of fashion!

I'm leafing through the pages of my childhood photo album. Yes, fashion has changed. Now these clothes they just throw it away(It’s not even in the attic).

If you don’t remember the crazy nineties or simply weren’t born at that time, I’ll tell you about the fashion trends of a bygone era.

90s style clothes

Today you walk through fashion boutiques and you can even buy yourself a gold dress. But why such luxury as going to the office? Previously, to buy simple seasonal clothes, you had to stand in line. The most thoughtful ones found acquaintances and friends who had access to the deficit. Dealers gave away goods through the back door (they often sold clothes and shoes at home). The cost was minimal screwed twice.

Another category of people, with average incomes, enjoyed common benefits. They bought what they had. For example, there was no clothes that don't fit. If the coat was big, everyone bought it. As they say, to grow.

In wardrobe every fashionista had:

  • colored tights;
  • tight leggings;
  • leatherette pants (imitation leather);
  • leather biker jacket;
  • sports suit;
  • jacket with wide shoulders;
  • sweater with ornament.

I was most impressed by the jackets and raincoats with shoulder pads. For women with wide hips, such clothes are clearly didn't fit. Femininity is lost, and the silhouette resembles a man’s. Such a robe would definitely not suit me (I would be a mountain woman).

Addition to the image

In the 90s, every woman could not go out without her hair. The look was completed with backcombing and voluminous curls. In order to keep their hairstyle as long as possible, girls permed their hair. Hairsprays and gels filled the ladies' table in the room. Beauty is a terrible force.

I can’t remain silent and not talk about makeup. They used a broken one as an eyeliner pencil lead. Lips were painted only with bright lipstick. Not matte, but shiny. An important point - shadows. Must be blue or blue. Sloppy painted eyes emphasized skin imperfections and looked like bruises. This is “war paint”, not makeup.

The 90s are long gone. But fashion keeps coming back. Perhaps bright prints and leather will appear again in fashionistas’ closets.

Hand on heart, I admit that I am a fan of 90s style. There is something touching and vulnerable in all this fake hypertrophy of shoulders and oversized bombers, Babylon bouffants, blue arrows and red lipstick. Why did the 90s come back and become so popular again? Nostalgia for youthful rebellion and freedom?

What is the spirit of the 90s

Smells like Teen Spirit- the representative of the grunge style who remained in the 90s sang. I grew up during these years with the MTV generation to Nirvana, Blur and Oasis videos, singing along to the starlet Britney Spears and the boy band Backstreet Boys. Remember wave of American films, which overwhelmed our rentals during the years of perestroika: “Pretty Woman”, “The Breakfast Club”, “Sister Act”, “Beverly Hills”? At that time, it seemed that the world was ready to say goodbye to the passing century of wars, depression, dictatorship and open its arms to democracy, freedom of morals and self-expressionI.

There was a feeling that everyone wanted and at the same time feared freedom. How teenagers in puberty, transitioning into adulthood, try to hide behind an aggressive appearance. Maximalism and rebellion- one could write on a label from the 90s.

Clothing styles from the 90s

There are several main trends in clothing inherent in this time:

Forward to the past: the 90s in the modern world

Children of the 80s, living in the 2000s, began to feel nostalgic for the 90s. This nostalgia can be seen not only in the modern mass market, but also felt through film aesthetics. For example, Canadian director Xavier Dolan shot the already cult film “ And yet Laurence" Each frame is a bible for fans of 90s style.

Designer Gosha Rubchinsky shot with his collection "Greetings from the residential areas of the 90s." The emphasis is on sweatshirts, shorts, long socks, sneakers and sheepskin coats. A nod to Tommy Hilfiger.

The conclusion is that we're not ready to say goodbye to the 90s yet for years, and personally it makes me very happy.

What I wore in the 90s

Why fashion in those years was so vulgar, I still don’t understand. Perhaps this is due to the fact that people, as they say, got into trouble. We got to rich colors, to cosmetics, to jewelry. That’s why they “put on all their best at once.” Remember how we lived in Soviet time. Everything is gray, brown and the same. Complete depression.

My favorites 90s outfits were:

  • denim sundresses and denim jackets(and the jackets had to be of a baggy cut);
  • very bright leggings and leggings;
  • sports jacket and pants(tracksuits were worn not only by gopniks at that time, but also by ordinary schoolchildren);
  • a mandatory attribute for me was large hoop earrings.

This concerns my wardrobe. In general, those who were older wore angora sweaters with one bare shoulder, wide-brimmed hats and oversized raincoats.

Not only did the clothes combine all the styles and colors, but they also complemented it all crazy makeup. Thick blue shadows, bright blush and red lips. Didn’t we really notice then, didn’t we understand how tasteless it looked?

What else was interesting in the 90s

Some people are upset that the USSR collapsed, but there is no need to feel sorry. Freedom from the Union gave us the opportunity to breathe freely and make decisions. Now you don't have to agree with political party and pretend that you like everything. You don’t have to live “like everyone else.”

The 90s - that was the beginning of a new era. The first ones began to appear music bands such as “Na-Na”, “Mirage”, “Freestyle”, “Nancy”. These are legendary groups, and we will not forget their songs.

Do you remember, what clothes were like in the 90s and what was in fashion? What kind of things did the youth of that time chase after and what did they wear in the past? "the squeak of fashion"?

I suggest you remember the most popular wardrobe items. Since I remembered many things from memory, then, excuse me, the things here are mostly girly.

ATTENTION! BEATS OF NOSTALGIA MAY BE POSSIBLE!

Platform shoes

How we didn’t break our legs on it still remains a mystery to me. Main principle When choosing such shoes, the higher the platform, the better. Yes, it was not entirely comfortable, but you can easily find several advantages: you immediately became a few centimeters taller and no puddles or slush were scary.

I really loved the platform because I was always a halfling, and being the same height as everyone else was incredibly nice.

Leggings

This thing was integral part wardrobe of almost every girl and girl. Bright, shiny, leggings of the most unimaginable colors complemented almost any look. The real “squeak” of 90s fashion!

For example, I had turquoise ones. I still remember how much I liked them! I rarely wore them, took care of them, and grew out of them...

Tracksuits

This set of clothes was not only for sports. Some wore it almost constantly. Nowadays, tracksuits are mostly designed in one color scheme, and in the 90s the acidity of the bright inserts on them dazzled the eyes. A suit with a logo famous brand- this is generally everyone's dream. Yes, even if there was a mistake in the logo (not adidas, but abibas), but it’s okay, no one laughed at it.

I had a blue abidas tracksuit, also called a three-piece suit. The set included a vest. They bought it “to grow,” naturally. But since I didn’t grow very fast. This tracksuit was mine true friend almost all primary school... I also remember how they argued at school when someone came to class in a “sweatshirt.” They even sent me home to change clothes... to the envy of others.

Denim jackets, skirts, overalls and other clothing

90s - golden decade denim clothes. Being completely in denim is a sign of style and cool. Mawin jeans and denim skirts with white frills and Lambada inscription.

One of my favorite things from childhood is a denim biker jacket. I begged my mother for a long time to buy it for me, when she gave up, it turned out that my size was nowhere to be found. But it’s okay, I liked it even better with the cuffs turned up.

Caps, baseball caps

A blue, black or camouflage baseball cap had to have the inscription “USA” and an image of an eagle on it. It was “cooler” to wear it with the visor backwards. And if you also bend the visor into a triangle, square, semicircle, then you are generally a dangerous type.

I secretly stole this black cap from my brother. In order not to get a slap on the head or a slap, you had to remember which division the clasp was on and, under pain of death, not touch the visor.

T-shirts and tank tops

T-shirts and tank tops are a completely different story. Different color and lengths, with fringe, with prints, with patterns, rhinestones, sequins, etc. The most iconic and popular was, of course, the T-shirt with a frame from Titanic.

But I didn’t have one. Even then I had some kind of inexplicable dislike for DiCaprio. But I remember a lilac T-shirt with fringed “dangles”. This top also featured Minnie Mouse.

Clothes in the 90s always complemented by many accessories. Like all the girls of that time, I collected my own collection of fashionable “things”.

Multi-colored rubber bands

The more of them, the brighter they are, the more envy you arouse among your girlfriends. Ponytails, braids, “palm trees” had to be complemented with this simple accessory. The height of taste is if the elastic bands were chosen to match the clothes.

Badges

There are never enough of them! With names, with funny inscriptions, with photographs of stars. Badges were attached to jackets, jeans, backpacks, in a word, to everything possible.

What else? Of course, we cannot fail to mention the following accessories: chokers, butterfly hairpins, spring and spiral hairpins, crabs, small “daisy” crabs, various bracelets (colored wire, beads, beads), baubles, heart pendants, keychains, Digital Watch, small backpacks.

And we can’t forget about...

Packages

plastic bags with flowers, stripes, with girls in bikinis, with logos of famous companies - everyone certainly had them! Comfortable, bright and very inexpensive.

You can often see posts about fashion different years, but for some reason one era is ignored. And the era, I must say, is more than colorful...

Fashion of the 90s in Russia was a very complex and, at the same time, interesting and unforgettable time. Life was difficult for people, but everyone loved to dress well, so back then they wore what they imported from abroad.

Sometimes Russian fashion of the 90s is called “shocking”, because looking at photos from the past today, you involuntarily think: “How could anyone wear something like that?!”

An integral part of the 90s wardrobe was clothing in the style of disco, rock, punk and rap. Remember the group “Kar-Man”, Bogdan Titomir and the way they dressed. Here, by the way, is a photo of cool guys in disco style!

And here is a clip from the group "Kar-Man". And what trendy glasses Lemokh is wearing! Among fashionistas of that time, colored leggings, rubber sneakers, voluminous down jackets, sweatpants, boiled skirts, jeans and leather jackets were popular.

While some were fans of Tender May and the Mirage group, Depeche Mode, Cure and Nirvana ruled the Western scene. Rock fans combed their bangs, wore tight leggings and black T-shirts, drew black circles around their eyes and took photographs for memory.

Here are brutal men all wearing badges - also a trend of the 90s!

At the very beginning of the 90s, jeans continued to be “cooked” (they started back in the 80s) - they were twisted, pulled, boiled in bleach or vinegar. And then the label was often sewn on! For extra “coolness”. Symbols of the times include the famous Mawin jeans and short denim skirts with white frills and the inscription Lambada!

All the girls wore tights/leggings! Despite the terrible quality... Almost everyone had black leggings (even those who were deprived of straight legs by nature). And colored (acid!) ones were considered a real “squeak” of fashion - bright yellow, pink, turquoise... And then “dolchiki” came into fashion - colored insulated tights. The most stylish young ladies wore large stripes. Preferably a very bright, contrasting color.

Miss KGB 1990 - Ekaterina Mayorova. Everything about her was fashionable for those times - both the T-shirt with a print and the denim skirt.

Sheer tights were also in fashion. But, of course, they had to come with some kind of “bells and whistles” (in the spirit of the times, in general). It would be coolest if the tights had a floral pattern. And if there’s also a rhinestone among the ornaments, then that’s it, you’re a queen!

A street artist on Old Arbat paints a girl in a tracksuit and shoes, 1991.

Tracksuits were popular among both women and men. But the latter were especially loved. We wore tracksuits to work, to the disco and on dates. Oh, and if there was a treasured inscription there, there was no price for such a suit!

By the mid-90s, some men moved from tracksuits to formal clothes. Well, how strict... Dressed in jackets, in general. Raspberry, really. Now there are jokes about them. And then it was the truth of life. Those who called themselves “new Russians” appeared. They could be distinguished by their crimson jackets, black trousers and pointed boots. Oh yes, about gold chain! That was important too, yes. Other colors of jackets were much less in demand. And in general, the vast majority of men wore tracksuits.

And if a fashionable man did not wear a crimson jacket or a tracksuit, then he almost certainly did not get out of sweaters with ornaments. By the way, girls didn’t disdain such sweaters either. True, among the fair sex it was fashionable to wear artificially elongated, voluminous ones under leggings.

The skirts were getting shorter and shorter! In addition to the “lambada”, narrow denim skirts, pleated skirts with suspenders and elasticated skirts were also worn. The latter also came in a variety of acidic colors!
