Water cleaning. How to understand how clean water you drink at home. Shungite water purification procedure

There are many quite reliable household water filters that will solve the problem. These are drinking water filters that are built into the sink, faucet nozzles, pitcher filters, water pre-treatment installations throughout the apartment. But when the filter is out of order, and the problem needs to be solved at least for a while, we remember simpler ways to clean tap water.

settling

Chlorinated tap water tastes and smells bad. But chlorination is necessary to neutralize the microorganisms present in the water. To neutralize the microorganisms present in the water, it is chlorinated. Drinking chlorinated water is not recommended, chlorine has the ability to accumulate in the body and during boiling forms very harmful chemical compounds. You can neutralize the effect of chlorine by settling the water. Simply pour tap water into a large container and leave for 7-8 hours. Heavy metal impurities and chlorine compounds will evaporate during this time. Important! Use for drinking and food you need ¾ of settled water, pour out the rest.

ICE FILTER

A simple method of preparing melt water at home is suitable for those who have a roomy freezer. Cold water in plastic bottles should be placed in the freezer and wait until about half of it freezes. In the middle of the volume, unfrozen water remains, which is poured out. The ice is thawed and used for drinking. The idea of this method of water purification is that pure water freezes first, and most of the impurities remain in solution. Even sea ice is mostly fresh water, despite the fact that it forms on the surface of a salty body of water. It is important to know: only the water from which clear ice is obtained can be used for food. If the ice looks cloudy, the water from it is saturated with harmful substances. Therefore, doctors recommend only clear, clean ice to defrost and drink. Melt water from it is very useful for the skin, so you can actively use it for washing.

Silicon Enrichment

Silicon has strong bactericidal properties, in fact it is the best natural water filter, but the question is - where to get it? Silicon can be bought at some pharmacies or ordered online. Its cost is not high - 230-250 rubles per 150 g. In addition, silicon also has antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, bactericidal properties, improves metabolism, has a beneficial effect on the functioning of the organs of the gastrointestinal tract, preventing the occurrence of pathologies, and contributes to the rapid removal of toxins from the body , toxins, carcinogens and other harmful substances. Before using silicon for the first time, it is necessary to thoroughly rinse it with running water, then pour it with water and infuse for 2-3 days. It is necessary to drink in small portions, at least 2-3 glasses per day. Periodically (1 time per week) the crystals should be washed from the formed plaque.

Cleansing with activated carbon

Activated carbon is a part of household bulk filters for water purification. It is an effective water purifier, after application of which tap water becomes more pleasant in taste and smell. since coal absorbs almost all harmful substances found in tap water. To purify water with activated charcoal, you need to place a home-made filter in the form of a fabric or gauze bag filled with activated charcoal - powdered, granular or in tablets (tablets must first be crushed) on a container with water. True, such an impromptu filter cannot be used for a long time; it requires replacement in a few days.

Silver cleansing

The ions contained in silver actively purify water. Silver has bactericidal properties, so you can pour water into a large glass container, place a silver object (with 999 fineness) inside and let the water stand for 8-10 hours. The only thing - it is not recommended to drink only such water, silver - silver toxins can accumulate, creating an excess of silver in the body, which can lead to metabolic disorders.

The basis of the foundations is water. You can eat healthy as much as you like, but if you absorb polluted water every day, sooner or later the body will begin to malfunction. The quality of water is directly related to the quality of life.

If you care about the health of your loved ones, realize the need for clean water for the body, then you need to know simple methods and techniques for cleaning it. How to purify tap water at home without buying expensive equipment? Let's try to figure it out.

Several reasons to choose cleaning

Tap water, especially in metropolitan areas, has an excessive amount of impurities. It is difficult to get rid of chlorine, chemical compounds that have a dangerous effect on the body. Often this is due to several reasons.

  1. The equipment is outdated and needs updating.
  2. There are components that pollute water resources.
  3. Advanced cleaning technologies are not used.
  4. Instead of environmentally friendly methods, chemical methods are used.
  5. The old water supply system does not allow creating conditions for the preservation of clean water.

The catastrophic situation with the city's water supply and sewerage system cannot be corrected with words. But you can improve the water itself with simple, inexpensive and reliable means that are easy to use at home. It will be suitable for drinking, cooking and hygienic purposes.

When we lived in Pyt-Yakh, the water sometimes flowed like this, and the hair was dyed red. Good thing we got out of there quickly. However, clear water does not mean high quality.

By learning how to make clean water yourself, you can:

  • do not worry about its quality, it will always be excellent;
  • choose ways, change techniques and methods, comparing what works better;
  • significantly save on purchases of filters, jugs, cleaning systems, using folk methods for the best result;
  • learn new things about the quality and composition of water in the region of residence;
  • based on the data, select the best types, methods.

Effective Approaches

  • The simplest and most common way, but not the most effective, is boiling. Did you know that chlorine will not disappear? And the water doesn't taste very good either.

By the way, if you boil for 15-20 minutes, but not in a kettle, but with an open lid in an enamel pan, the water will become ionized. It should be poured into a thermos and drink a little bit throughout the day. Moritz wrote that such water is capable of removing toxins.

I myself have not done this, but if you have tried it or have your own opinion on this matter, write in the comments.

  • You can clean up harmful microorganisms by mixing with table salt. This method is more suitable for cooking or for camping conditions. At the same time, you need to remember that a lot of salt should not be consumed, although salt is an excellent antiseptic.

  • It is much better to use a small piece of silicon, the effectiveness of which has been proven by special analysis. It can be purchased at a pharmacy or online. The technology is simple.

  1. A mineral weighing up to 10 g is placed at the bottom of a 2-liter jar.
  2. Fill with water.
  3. Leave in the light, but not in direct sunlight for a day.
  4. After that, the water purified by silicon is drained and drunk.
  • Since ancient times, water has been purified with silver. To do this, you can put any silver item on the bottom of the jar. Bactericidal and healing properties are guaranteed. Just 8 hours is enough.

I have used this method before. I had a silver spoon and I put it at the bottom of the jar. The water tasted so good. I am writing and I understand that this process needs to be resumed. I think that you can put decoration on the bottom. By the way, I love silver very much, moreover, much more than gold.

  • Freezing and thawing gives a good cleansing effect. Water is poured into convenient containers and placed in the freezer, in winter you can go to the balcony. The first frozen crust, which formed after an hour or two, is thrown out.

The water is overflowed and re-frozen. When it freezes about two-thirds, it is taken out of the freezer again. This time, the liquid is drained, and the ice remains.

This ice is pure beautiful "zeroed" water. After such a procedure, it is believed that it turns into a "live" and has healing powers.

For the first time, it is better to make melt water on a day off in order to delve into the process, note the time at different stages, so that it would be easier later. And, of course, it is good to freeze a lot of water at once.

  • The method of cleaning with the mineral shungite is gaining more and more popularity. It is controversial about its effectiveness, as there are contraindications for individuals prone to the growth of cancer cells (although this issue is controversial). Shungite is even recommended by Zeland himself.

The method is similar to the silicon approach. You can not change the stones often, it is enough to clean them with sandpaper from lime and impurities once every six months.

  • An interesting method using activated charcoal.

  1. Take the funnel.
  2. Put a cotton swab or disk on the bottom.
  3. Crush a blister of activated charcoal.
  4. Wrap it in a thick cloth and place on cotton wool.

The home filter is ready. It is simple and reliable in operation. Retains heavy metals, does not change the taste of water.

Questionable Procedures

  • Among folk remedies, willow bark, elderberries, bird cherry leaves, iodine, wine, and vinegar are used. A specific smell, a very controversial effectiveness and other limitations ...
  • The method of cleaning with magnets is doubtful. It is recommended to wrap the pipes with magnetic tapes, creating a field. It is unlikely to be of any use. What do you think?
  • Due to settling, some results can be achieved, for example, some impurities will disappear, but the metal will remain at the bottom of the dish. Do it in 3-liter jars for at least 2 days. With this method, part of the water is lost, which is not economical. You can not drink the water that has precipitated.

Whatever method, method is chosen, you need to know how effective the cleaning was. You can take water for analysis to the SanEpidemStation, both before treatment and after, for comparison.

Keep in mind that water resources are different everywhere. Try several options and find the best one for you and your family.

How to make a filter yourself (video)

I already described the process above, but I found a video to make it clearer:

For this reason, I ask:

Thank you for your attention. Drink clean water! Be healthy.

Until we meet again, your Evgenia Shestel

Clean and high-quality drinking water is a guarantee of health and well-being. Therefore, today almost every home has a water filter. But it is not necessary to buy this important item. It is quite possible to make a filter with your own hands.

Water is the basis of all living things. Without water, a person can survive no more than three days (while without food, he can do two weeks). Water is the beginning of life. But it can also bring health problems. We are talking about untreated (unfiltered) water containing harmful chemical elements, compounds, impurities. The problem of clean drinking water is not new. And cleaning it is a serious household procedure.

How to purify drinking water at home

If we had the opportunity to consider a drop of water that we are going to drink, we might seriously think about the issue of filtering this product, which cannot be dispensed with. In this case, household filters come to the rescue. There are a lot of them on sale now. But what if there is no factory filter at hand? Do you need to clean the water from harmful components? It turns out that it is quite possible to make an impromptu and effective water filter using improvised means and certain materials. There are even simple folk methods that have been used for centuries, and which you may not have heard of at all.

Here is a list of the most common water filters or methods just for you.

1. Boiling

But all this can be achieved under the conditions:

  • Boil water for at least 15 minutes.
  • Do not cover the container in which water is boiled.

This method has serious drawbacks:

  • Fresh water contains oxygen, hydrogen sulfide, calcium, magnesium, sodium, and potassium ions. The boiling process helps to displace oxygen from the water. Ions react with each other under the influence of elevated temperatures, resulting in the formation of calcium salts and other elements that are deposited in scale on the inner walls of the boiling dishes. And we end up with not only "dead" water, but also harmful to health: for example, calcium salts over time can trigger the formation of kidney stones, the development of diseases such as arthritis.
  • It is impossible to remove salts of iron, lead, mercury and other heavy metals from water by boiling.
  • Chlorine and its compounds, reacting with org. compounds, form the so-called trihalomethanes and dioxin - carcinogenic substances, which in significant quantities can provoke the formation of malignant tumors in the body.

2. Settling water

The essence of the method is to defend the most ordinary tap water for 8 - 12 hours (exactly this amount of time is required for the evaporation of chlorine and other volatile impurities).

To stimulate the evaporation of substances we do not need, it is advisable to stir the water from time to time.
However, salts of heavy metals do not disappear from the settled water, calmly settling at the bottom, therefore, approximately one and a half hours before drinking, the water does not need to be mixed.

In order to achieve water that is maximally purified from heavy metals, it is advisable to pour 2/3 of the volume of the liquid obtained into another container so that the harmful sediment remains at the bottom.

3. Freezing water

Freezing allows not only to purify water from salts and other impurities, but also to saturate it with oxygen.
What is the use of melt water:

  • Removal of cholesterol and salts from the body.
  • Strengthening immunity.
  • Reducing the likelihood of allergies.
  • Rejuvenation.

How is melt water obtained?

  • Do not completely fill a plastic container (but do not use a plastic bottle) or a special plastic freezer bag with water: when frozen, the water expands in volume. That is why it is not recommended to take glass containers.
  • Send a container of water to the freezer and hold for exactly as long as 2/3 of it goes into a solid state of aggregation.
  • Drain any water that has not been frozen because it contains salts that stop the freezing process.
  • Defrost the existing ice - your melt water is ready.

It is advisable to use up to 1.5 - 2 liters of melt water per day.

4. Water purification with activated carbon

Activated charcoal is an affordable and at the same time effective remedy in this matter. It successfully absorbs unwanted impurities and unpleasant "flavors".

Classic household filters for water purification "work" on carbon filters.

How to make such a filter yourself?

Take:

  • Activated charcoal (50 tablets).
  • Gauze (a bandage of sufficient width will do).
  • Vatu.
  • 1 liter glass jar.
  • A bottle (made of plastic) from under water with a volume of 1.5 liters.

Manufacturing technology of the filter of three layers:

1. Cut off the bottom of a plastic bottle and insert it upside down into a jar.

2. Cut off a piece of gauze (20x20 cm in size), in which cotton wool should be wrapped (this is the first layer of our filter).

3. The second layer - it will be carefully crushed tablets of activated carbon, which should be wrapped in cotton wool.

4. The third layer is prepared in exactly the same way as the first.

Please note that the filter layers fit one to the other tightly enough.

Faster Water Purification Method:

  • Send activated carbon in the ratio of 1 tablet per 1 liter of water to a gauze bag.
  • Tie the bag and send it to a bowl of water for 6-8 hours.

5. Silver cleaning

It has long been a well-known method of water purification from microbes, viruses, bleach and other unnecessary substances. How can you purify water with silver? It is necessary to place any silver item in a bowl of water for approximately 8 to 10 hours.

Silver can disinfect drinking water. In addition, this metal has a healing effect on the immune system, has a beneficial effect on the appearance of the skin and hair, and starts the digestive tract.

Attention! Colloidal (liquid) silver should not be used for this purpose. The latter, accumulating in the body, causes poisoning and provokes the development of such a disease as argyrosis, the symptoms of which are darkening of the skin up to a darkish gray tone.

6. Silicon cleaning

To carry out water purification with silicon, you need a stone weighing 5-10 g (it’s really possible to buy one in a regular pharmacy).
Silicon Water Purification Technology:

1. Rinse the silicon under running water.

2. Place it in a glass container with cold water (5 g of silicon is enough to purify 1 liter of water).

3. Cover the container with two layers of gauze.

4. Settle water for 3 days: make sure that direct sunlight does not fall on the water container, however, you do not need to put water in a dark room.

5. After 3 days, pour the water into the prepared container, leaving 1/3 of the settled water with a precipitate of salts of traces of heavy metals at the bottom.

6. After each cleaning, the stone should be thoroughly washed and systematically brushed.
Water purified in this way has a good effect on the immune system and blood circulation, and has a rejuvenating effect.

Attention! Silicon water has no contraindications.

7. Cleaning with shungite

Another stone that is suitable for water purification is called shungite (you can also actually buy it at a pharmacy).

This mineral can absorb compounds of chlorine, phenol and acetone, which are unusually harmful to humans, remove pathogenic bacteria and microorganisms from water.

To purify 1 liter of water, you need to take 100 g of shungite.

Shungite water purification technology:

1. Rinse this stone thoroughly.

2. Place shungite in a bowl with water at room temperature and infuse for 3 days: the bowl with water should not be closed (just cover it with gauze).

3. At the first stage of purification, the water will acquire a black tone, but after a while it will be transparent again, and the resulting dust from mineral particles will settle to the bottom.

4. After 1 hour of the process, the water will be cleared of bacteria and nitrates, and after 3 days it will have healing properties (according to healers).

5. Drain the water, leaving approximately 3 cm of water at the bottom.

After applying shungite, it is necessary to wash it thoroughly, clean it with a brush about 1 time in 30 days, and change it to a new stone 2 times a year.

Attention! Water purified with shungite has a number of contraindications:

  • The tendency to thrombosis.
  • Contributes to the emergence and development of oncology.
  • Increased acidity.
  • Diseases in the period of exacerbation.

It is advisable to consult your family doctor before using a stone for water purification.

8. Folk remedies

Apple vinegar. Dilute 1 teaspoon in 1 liter of water, then insist the mixture for 2-3 hours in order to destroy microbes.
Vinegar can be replaced with 5% iodine, which should be added to water in the ratio of 3 drops of iodine per 1 liter of water. Insist 2 hours.
The disadvantage of the method: water that has been purified with vinegar or iodine has a not quite, to put it mildly, pleasant smell and a specific taste.

Do not forget that an excessive amount of iodine can lead to the following manifestations in the body:

  • Muscle weakness.
  • Persistent low-grade fever against the background of the absence of signs of a specific disease.
  • Sweating.
  • Diarrhea.

Cleansing with bunches of mountain ash. This water is fragrant and has a very pleasant aftertaste. The use of rowan according to the result, a number of experts equate with water purification with silver or coal.

To purify drinking water, it will be enough for you to lower a well-washed bunch of ripe mountain ash into a bowl of water. This plant is extremely rich in natural antibiotics, so in 3 hours the pathogenic bacteria present in the water will be destroyed.

Clusters of mountain ash can be replaced with onion husks, bird cherry leaves and juniper branches, but in this case, the water will have to infuse for up to 12 hours.

Remember! To strengthen the cleansing effect, it is advisable to always filter the water after infusion.
Folk remedies cannot completely purify water from chlorine compounds and microbes, therefore, non-existent universal qualities should not be attributed to them.

Water purification without a household filter

Drinking water, which we use daily, can be a healing agent, or it can be a source of acquired diseases. Therefore, you should not be negligent about the water that you use. For example, tap water contains a lot of components harmful to humans. It is enough to imagine that mucus accumulates on the inner perimeter of water pipes from year to year, microorganisms multiply, which can easily penetrate our body. If the water pipes are old or made of metals susceptible to corrosion, then rust is added to a wide range of compounds and substances harmful to health.

Clean drinking water becomes a real treasure. Could people who lived 100 years ago imagine that drinking water would be sold for money? Perhaps you know that the lack of drinking water is on the list of global problems of mankind. Indeed, despite all the achievements of science, people have not yet figured out how to replace water.published.

At home, you can purify water using household filters, freezing, settling, boiling, as well as a combination of all these and some other methods.

Spring water does not flow from our taps. This problem has been going on for more than a decade, and there is still no global solution. Perhaps, somewhere in a distant country, foreign public utilities have already found a way to supply “clean tears” to homes. And we can only look for our own methods of water purification for each individual apartment.

Why can't you leave it as it is?

The quality of tap water is far from any sanitary and simply human standards. Chlorination or, at best, fluoridation relieves it of infectious agents, but does not at all save it from additives such as pesticides, nitrates, salts of heavy metals.

Although industrial methods of water purification should become more perfect from year to year, in fact, only MPC standards change. The concentrations of harmful substances allowed for domestic water are artificially inflated and simply legalize the chemical "cocktail" that enters our taps.

Cleaning Options

There are many home ways to purify water from harmful or simply undesirable impurities, but each of them fights with one group of substances or organisms. Therefore, to obtain the desired result, it is often necessary to take a whole range of measures.

Water purification at home is possible in several ways, but it is important to understand the physics of each process, since it is quite difficult to ideally separate liquid into drinking and technical.

Water purification by settling

This method not only allows the heavy sediment to be separated, it also gives the water time to self-purify itself of volatile ammonia and chlorine compounds. In order for the process to be as efficient as possible, the water is settled in a container with a wide top and without a lid for at least 8 hours. Then you can pour it into a clean container, trying not to mix the layers, and pour out the lower quarter altogether.

After each settling, rinse the walls and bottom of the main container with a solution of acetic or citric acid to remove lime deposits.

Water filters

At one time, there was a boom in various filtration systems, the manufacturers of which promised trouble-free water softening at home and almost 100% cleaning result. Gradually, the less effective ones were eliminated, and the most reliable methods continue to be used in everyday life:

  • Capacitive filter jugs are quite versatile, since they can be equipped with cassettes with different degrees of water purification. The main thing is not to forget to change them regularly.
  • Multi-level filtration systems - show themselves best of all, but also cost accordingly. But they simultaneously use different methods of water purification, freeing it not only from garbage, but also from chlorine, rust suspension, some types of bacteria and viruses.

Boiling

The method is as old as the world, and effective not only for the destruction of pathogens. During boiling, calcium salts are removed from the water. True, they do not disappear at all, but settle on the inner surface of the kettle, after which they have to be removed from the dishes. Other dissolved substances cannot be neutralized in this way, and water purification from odor during boiling is impossible.

For rough preparation and disinfection of at least 50-70 percent, the water should boil for at least 10-15 minutes, since most pathogens do not die immediately. A higher pathogen kill rate of 98-99% requires even more time - about half an hour. And in the case of anthrax, it will take at least an hour to boil water. So an electric kettle with auto-off is definitely not suitable for these purposes.

But boiling has a downside. Most urban water treatment plants resort to chlorination in the old fashioned way, and after boiling, the chlorine residues turn into a dangerous carcinogen - chloroform. In addition, a natural decrease in the volume of water increases the percentage of other impurities in it. So this method should be used only in conjunction with settling, and double - before boiling and after it.

Distillation

Simply put, evaporation. The same boiling, but the resulting steam will have to be collected. You will need a homemade water purification device that works on the principle of a distillation apparatus. The design can be the simplest:

  • closed container for boiling;
  • steam outlet tube;
  • cooling coil;
  • container for collecting distilled water.

In this case, all harmful substances will remain in the evaporator tank, and ideally pure water will be collected in the condensing coil. Of course, it tastes unpleasant, and you shouldn’t use distillate regularly - after all, the supply of minerals in the human body is replenished, including drinking water. Moreover, the distilled liquid will dissolve useful salts already in the cells and wash out the substances necessary for normal life.

Purification with silver and copper

Our distant ancestors knew how to purify water and make it safe. At least those who were rich enough to "drink and eat on silver." The disinfecting effect of pure argentum is indeed widely known, but only the precious metal is needed not technical and not even jewelry, which comes with the addition of low-melting copper. In silver dishes, water is defended for about a day. If there is no such container, you can simply put a silver object in a regular container.

Copper kitchen utensils give a similar effect, but it is not recommended to keep water in it for longer than 4 hours. Otherwise, instead of a disinfected liquid, you will get a solution of toxic compounds transferred from copper.

Freezing

A surprisingly effective way to partially get rid of pathogenic bacteria and almost completely remove dissolved salts from the liquid. In this case, no complex device for water purification is required, except perhaps a sufficiently capacious freezer.

The liquid from the tap must be poured into plastic bottles, but not to the very neck, but leaving a couple of centimeters free. As it freezes, the water will expand in volume and may burst the container. For the same reason, glass cannot be used at all.

Send the prepared containers to the freezer, but monitor the condition of the water. When half to two thirds of the volume freezes, the remains must be poured out - they contain a large amount of mineral impurities that do not allow the liquid to quickly solidify at the set 0 ° C. Ice can be thawed and used for its intended purpose, or additional water purification methods can be applied to improve the result.

Ozonation

Safe cleaning methods aimed specifically at water disinfection are used in modern ozonation systems. 20 minutes of operation of such a device is enough to destroy most harmful microbes. For some time, this effect persists, so it is very useful to wash food products with ozonated water so that they become safe for humans.

Infusion on minerals (flint, shungite)

The method is very similar to settling tap water in a separate container, but with the addition of minerals. Silicon for water purification should be taken smaller so that the total surface area of the stones is maximum. It has a disinfecting effect and even benefits the body. has a rejuvenating, immunostimulating effect, strengthens the walls of blood vessels.

You can buy this miracle mineral in a pharmacy, and it is not difficult to use it: pour it with water and leave it to infuse for a day or two. Silicon attracts impurities and pathogenic microbes, so only the upper layers of water can be used, otherwise the whole point of purification is lost. After that, the precipitate is removed and the next portion is poured. But first, inspect the pebbles so that they do not have a thin coating. If the silicon is contaminated, it must be washed under running water with a clean toothbrush.

Shungite for the same purposes is recommended to be taken larger - one 100-gram stone is needed for each liter of liquid. The preparation is almost the same as the silicon water recipe: steeping for 3 days and pouring over the top layers. The mineral needs cleaning every six months.

Shungite water should not be drunk by people prone to oncology, blood clots and with high acidity of gastric juice.

Folk methods

Many plants common in our latitudes also have cleansing properties. For example, when using rowan branches, even complete purification of water from the smell is possible - you just need to put fresh cuts into it for a couple of hours. Willow bark, juniper and bird cherry leaves give the same bactericidal effect after 12 hours.

For quick cleaning of harmful impurities, use activated charcoal at the rate of 1 tablet per glass. After a quarter of an hour, the water can be filtered and subjected to disinfecting treatment. Alternatively, use a homemade charcoal filter by laying several layers of gauze with crushed powder. Or simply wrap the tablets in a clean piece of bandage and leave them in a container of water overnight.
