Layout and design of a 4 by 4 kitchen: three ways to make it comfortable

It is rare to find a large kitchen in a city apartment, unless it has been remodeled and combined with an adjacent room. But in your home you can turn around by giving it a fairly spacious room. My favorite size, as the famous cartoon character said, is 14-16 sq.m., and my favorite shape is a square. In anticipation of a possible move, we would like to think in advance about the design of a 4 by 4 meter kitchen: this is exactly what we have in the house we have chosen.

Choosing a layout

Even despite the presence of a gas heating boiler, in such an area it is possible to implement any planning solution and place all the desired equipment and storage system. And still I want to find the most convenient option.

Option one – linear

Four meters is enough to install everything you need along one wall. These are six standard modules plus one narrower, 40 cm.

Considering that the depth of the cabinets is 60 cm, there is more than three meters of free space left, and it will be necessary to develop a 3 by 4 kitchen design, without considering the need to accommodate the work area.

  • This space is enough to organize a full-fledged dining room or a small dining area and relaxation corner.
  • The advantage of this option is the price: rectilinear kitchens are cheaper than corner and U-shaped ones.
  • But it has one serious drawback: the working area is too long. While preparing dinner, you can easily cover several kilometers, running along it from the refrigerator to the sink and stove.

Therefore, despite all the economic and technical advantages (all communications along one wall), I will probably refuse it. As with a two-row kitchen along opposite walls: what's the difference: running in a straight line or in a perpendicular direction for the same distance?

Although, if you place the sink and hob nearby, installing a module with kitchen utensils and appliances between them, and not far from the refrigerator, it will turn out quite convenient. Rarely used equipment will remain in the other wing for storage.

Option two - corner

The easiest way to organize a work triangle of stove-sink-refrigerator convenient for the housewife is an L-shaped kitchen.

  • The sink is placed directly in the corner or closer to it, and on both sides of it, through one or two modules with a free countertop, a hob and a refrigerator. The entire cooking process takes place in a conveyor manner, with the gradual movement of products from the starting point to the final point.

  • There are options with a stove in the corner. In my opinion, this is not so convenient, since food taken out of the refrigerator must first be brought to the processing area, and only then to the cooking area. Lots of unnecessary movements, dirt and drops on the floor.

The shape and size of the “corner” can be any, it all depends on the composition of the family and the housewife’s love for culinary achievements. For some, one and a half meters on both sides of the corner will be enough, while for others, they will take up the entire length of adjacent walls with cabinets and appliances. In any case, there will be a lot left in the room free space For dining table.

I would give the end of one wing for a hobby corner. A table with a cabinet, a wall cabinet above it, a socket above the tabletop - and you have a place where you can sit with a laptop, solder something, burn something, or transplant household items.

For me, there are two disadvantages to this layout:

  1. The first is aesthetic: I don’t like the joints on the countertop. They can be avoided by casting the tabletop from artificial stone. But it's expensive.
  2. The second is financial: corner kitchens always cost more than linear ones of the same length. Mainly due to the filling of corner modules. To use everything inner space cabinets, they are equipped with rotary, retractable or withdrawable systems.

Option three - island

Huge advantage large kitchen– the possibility of installing an island, peninsula or bar counter. The peninsula has the same disadvantages as corner layout. But a free-standing module onto which you can move a hob or sink, thereby creating a convenient work triangle is my dream.

Advantages:

  • It's just convenient, since the perimeter of the working triangle is small, everything is nearby and at hand;
  • It's practical: dirt that inevitably arises during the cooking process remains in the working area, not visible from the “front” part of the kitchen;
  • This allows for clear zoning, dividing the room into two parts - working and guest.

Unfortunately, setting up such a kitchen requires a lot of financial expenses, especially if you have to move existing communications. It’s easier to plan them at the construction stage, but with ready home don't do this.

The greatest difficulties arise when installing an island with gas hob. To reach her gas pipe And ventilation duct for the hood, the instructions require developing a project and obtaining a special permit, which also costs a lot of money.

It’s easier with a sink: all the pipes can be hidden under the floor or a specially built podium. In this case, it will also serve as an element of space zoning.

It turns out that each option has its pros and cons. You will have to find a compromise between beauty, convenience and economy. For now I am more inclined towards a corner kitchen.

Zoning the space

Surely there are few women who would devote the entire area of such a kitchen to work area, even if the house has a separate dining room and a bunch of other necessary rooms that allow you not to save space.

I have no doubt that there are such people. They have the power to create for themselves with their own hands a U-shaped kitchen with an island - a real paradise for lovers of frying, steaming, baking and cooking.

But I’m not one of them; a 2x2 meter corner and a couple of high “pencil cases” are enough for me: one for the oven and microwave and the second for storing a strategic supply of food.

Indispensable and mandatory unit kitchen appliances in our family it’s TV, which we only have time to watch while preparing and eating food.

Therefore, there should be a dining room with a comfortable place to relax, and you want to highlight it visually using one or more of the following techniques:

  • Podium on the floor and ceiling beam along the border of the two zones. A raised dining table looks great.
  • Bar counter.

  • Sliding doors. The option is interesting, but still 16 square meters is not enough to split them into two small rooms.
  • Different wall and floor finishes with a clear boundary between them.

There are also options with wide arched openings and low partitions, but I don’t want to split up the space so radically.
What’s also great about a spacious kitchen is the ability to choose any colors and textures for decoration, any interior styles. The main thing is not to get carried away and not to overload it with furniture and decor.

Conclusion

Some interesting ideas for the design of a large kitchen are presented in the video in this article. They are all different. Some leave you indifferent, others force you to click on the freeze frame to get a better look.

But everyone is somehow lifeless. I really want to see real photos made in inhabited houses and apartments.

June 10, 2016

If you want to express gratitude, add a clarification or objection, or ask the author something - add a comment or say thank you!

The kitchen is only 4 square meters. m is unusually tiny even for Khrushchev. It’s difficult to fit everything you need into such a small area, but it’s actually possible. The main thing is to pay attention to detail and carefully plan all stages of the arrangement - from renovating the room to choosing curtains. In this material you will find a complete design guide with practical advice, cool ideas and a selection of 50 photos of interiors for inspiration.

Color spectrum

The simplest and effective method visually enlarge a small kitchen - decorate most of the interior in light colors, for example, in white, cream, light gray and light beige.

To visually lighten a bulky set, decorate the walls to match the facades. Then the furniture will seem to dissolve in space

But if you want to achieve a super effect, we advise you to rely on white color and decorate at least the walls and kitchen units with it. This way you can visually “push” the walls, “raise” the ceilings, add light and make massive furniture less bulky. By the way, White color quite practical and even less brands than dark shades(exception – light fabrics).

Don't be afraid to turn your kitchen into a hospital room. The trick is that if you choose a soft and slightly warm shade white (for example, the color of baked milk, the color eggshells etc.), and also combine with each other interesting materials and textures, then even a monochrome interior will be cozy and lively.

Also, one or two additional colored or dark accents will relieve the feeling of sterility. Dark colors They will even help to “enlarge” the space. So, for example, a black apron against the background of white facades will make the set seem to “fall through”, giving the space volume and depth.

Redevelopment and zoning

You can radically change a 4-meter kitchenette by remodeling it, combining it with a living room/corridor/loggia, or by moving a wall to increase the area due to the adjacent room.

  • Combining the kitchen with the living room It is advantageous to be able to move the dining area to a recreation area or to the border between two rooms. Thus, there is a chance to arrange a more spacious working space, and in this case you can choose a larger table. And the combined kitchen-living room creates excellent conditions for family communication and home celebrations. True, when deciding on such a redevelopment, be prepared for inconveniences - the unhindered penetration of odors and noises from room to room, and the lack of privacy. The photo below shows an example of a kitchen in a Khrushchev-era building with an area of 4.8 square meters. m, combined with the living room.

Kitchen in a one-room apartment in Khrushchev, converted into a studio apartment

Apartment plan before and after renovation

  • Enlarging the kitchen at the expense of adjacent rooms by moving the partition is the optimal solution when isolation of rooms is necessary and important.

Keep in mind that any redevelopment requires approval.

Repair, decoration and minor alterations of the premises

When setting up your tiny kitchen from scratch, take on board the following ideas for small but very useful alterations:

  • If the kitchen is not gasified and you are ready to partially combine it with the living room or hallway, then abandon the swing door or at least rearrange the hinges so that it opens outward, as shown in the following photo.

Arch in the kitchen in Khrushchev

  • In a gasified kitchen, the trick with an open doorway will not work; according to SNiP rules, a door is required here. Fortunately, it can be anything, so we recommend replacing the usual swing door sliding or folding (“accordion”).

  • There is another trick - moving the doorway and narrowing it, because often even ten centimeters are sometimes decisive.
  • A window sill in a 4-meter kitchen should not stand idle in vain; it must be put to use. For example, you can build it into a kitchen set and equip it with drawers or turn into a bar counter. To do this, during the renovation process, you need to raise or lower the window to the same level as the lower tier of the unit and install a tabletop.

Now let's talk about finishing. When the kitchen is extremely small, even the way the floor is laid and the walls are decorated matters. Thus, finishing the floor with wide and long boards, as well as covering the walls with wallpaper with a large and bright print, will “eat up” an already tiny space. But correct finishing will help expand it greatly.

  • The floor should be laid diagonally (this applies to tiles, laminate, and piece parquet, And parquet board) or across the kitchen (if it is narrow). The laying pattern is preferable in a staggered or herringbone pattern.
  • If the walls are very crooked and you don’t want to sacrifice precious centimeters to straighten them, then we recommend gluing structural wallpaper(can be painted). The relief of such wallpaper will make changes and curvature less noticeable.
  • Ideally, it is best to simply paint the walls in one tone. It's practical, beautiful, and good for visual increase mini kitchens.
  • If the kitchen has ceilings only 2.5-2.6 m high, it makes sense to decorate one or two walls with wallpaper vertical stripes, vertical pattern or diamonds.

Design project for a small kitchen in Khrushchev with striped wallpaper

  • But on narrow kitchen Horizontal lines and zigzags work well (see photo below). You can draw them yourself using masking tape according to the stencil principle.

  • Pasted on one of the walls photo wallpaper with an image of a road going into the distance (or any other picture with a perspective), you are guaranteed to deceive your own vision and the kitchen will appear larger. The main thing is to decorate the remaining walls and the interior as a whole in a restrained and minimalistic manner.

  • Another trick to deceive the eyes is decorating the walls with large mirrors. The larger the mirror, the more effective. A full-wall mirror will turn 4 squares of your kitchen into 8 square meters. m. If you line the wall opposite the window with mirrors, then there will be more light in the room.

Kitchen set

Kitchen set in a kitchen with an area of 4 sq. m can only be built linearly or, if you try, then L-shaped.

  • Having built the kitchen linearly, you can move the refrigerator to another wall and complement the storage system with a shelf on wheels (believe me, it is more spacious than it seems) or a small cabinet with drawers.

Interior of a small kitchen in Khrushchev

  • A corner kitchen will take up more space, but will also accommodate more cabinets and surfaces for preparing food. You can save space with an L-shaped layout by installing a window sill (it will become part of the letter L) or by reducing the depth of its sidewall. It would be good if the side part of the headset, located near the doorway, is not only narrowed, but also trimmed (see photo below). This will make the passage to the kitchen clearer. And one more piece of advice - preferably one of the walls leave without wall cabinets, then the kitchen will not seem cluttered.

  • To use the full potential of a kitchen with a very small area, you need to use its height. Therefore, we strongly advise you to design the set right up to the ceiling. In the very top tier you can hide the air duct and store things that you don’t use often. By the way, a tall set is also good because its top does not need to be wiped clean from dust.

  • In addition to the top of the set, a secluded place for storing small items can be arranged in the plinth by building drawers into it.

  • To leave more space for kitchen furniture(including the dining group), the refrigerator can even be taken out into the hallway. This is not very convenient, but sometimes it is simply necessary.

In addition to these two layouts for square kitchens The most convenient, but impressive in size, U-shaped layout is also available. To build a set in this way on 4 squares, you will have to abandon the dining room and move it, for example, into the attached living room or replace it with a bar counter made on the basis of a window sill (which is built into the U-shaped set). Since the passage between the sides of the letter P must be at least 90 cm, it is possible and necessary to build a window sill into the set and make one or two sidewalls narrow and preferably beveled at the corners.

As for the design of the kitchen set, we recommend choosing facades without panels, perhaps even without handles. Glossy facades (see photo) or doors with glass inserts, as they will reflect light and lighten the interior.

Technique

To make the workspace of a 4-meter kitchen both compact and functional, it needs to be equipped with mini-format appliances.

  • For a family of 3-4 people, a narrow one is suitable Dishwasher 45 cm wide. For singles and couples, you can purchase an even narrower PMM - 35-40 cm wide.

  • The refrigerator should also be narrow. Thanks to its high “stature” it will be quite roomy.
  • A three-burner hob is ideal for families. If one or two people live in the apartment, then you can choose a stove with two burners.
  • An oven can be small, but ovens that can also perform the function of a microwave oven are also good.

It is important that all equipment is built-in, because the more uniform all the fronts are, the neater and lighter the interior will appear.

Lunch group

Options for arranging a dining area in a kitchen with an area of 4 square meters. a meter is not that much. After all, only very small tables and compact chairs will fit here.

  • It is best to choose a table that is square or rectangular, folding, sliding or with folding wings. That is, it should easily transform, say, from a two-seater table to a four-seater one.
  • More mobile versions table for a kitchenette: bar counter, coffee table or folding tabletop. By the way, a bar counter or folding table can be made on the basis of a window sill.

  • The chairs are light and functional. For example, stools, folding chairs, invisible chairs (made of polycarbonate) or benches are suitable. The latter are good because they have drawers under the seat and do not require extra space behind them.

Lighting

Lighting from a single central chandelier that produces dim light with harsh shadows is the worst thing that can happen to a small space. If you want your kitchen to seem spacious, bright and cozy, use instead of one ceiling lamp several point spots or a couple of three wall sconces. In this case, it is best to hang the chandelier not in the center of the room, but directly above the table. And, of course, don’t forget about furniture lighting in the work area.

Kitchen interior 4 sq. m

Decor

In decorating a kitchen of 4 square meters. meter should not be carried away, as the abundance of small details will create a feeling of disorder and clutter. However, you can’t do without decorations at all, because it is the decor that creates a residential look for the interior and reflects the tastes of the owners. We recommend limiting wall clock, live plants, pair wall panels or posters, a candy bowl or a bowl of fruit on the table. And don’t forget to pay attention to the choice of dishes and textiles. They should match the interior in color and style.

As for window decoration, best choice there will be short and laconic curtain models, for example, Roman or roller blinds, short curtains from soft fabric, blinds and curtains-cafe. If the kitchen windows face the north side and there is absolutely not enough daylight, then it is better to leave the window without curtains at all.

So beautiful kitchen premises are found much more often than you might imagine, mainly in small towns and hostels. And although it seems that in such a kitchen you can only install a stove and a refrigerator, this is not at all true; even such a kitchen can be turned into a full-fledged catering unit and accommodate everything you need.

Arrangement of furniture in the kitchen 4 m.

The obvious advantage of such a kitchen is that there cannot be a dining area or any table here, so you will have to focus on the working area of the kitchen. This is actually a simpler task than kitchen layout 6 meters, into which they are trying to squeeze a table and chairs. Here, literally, you can use all the walls of the room, including the wall with the window.

Therefore, most likely, you will have to buy a custom-made kitchen; if you purchase individual pieces of furniture, you will significantly reduce usable area your kitchen. Use all the walls for the work surface, then its length will be about five linear meters, and this is a lot even for a twelve-meter kitchen.

In addition, you can increase your work area using larger countertops. It looks like this: on in the right area, For example. where the working area is located, the depth of the tabletop increases, from the standard 60 cm to 70 or more. The increase is made in a round or oval shape, evenly. This tabletop design looks very attractive and is made to order.

Use vertical space as much as possible. Order the top drawers of your kitchen set yourself high size. And don’t be afraid that your kitchen will seem cluttered, this is the case here. When functionality is more important than design. If you plan to install a speaker, try to build some kind of household appliance into it, an oven, for example. IN Lately so-called cabinet walls are often used. If you use all three walls in the kitchen, it is quite possible to place such a wall on one of the sides.

Installation of household appliances in a small kitchen.

Try to make sure there is no washing machine in the kitchen. Of course, if the kitchen area is four square meters, then the rest of the apartment is not very large, but try to install it in the hallway or bathroom, under the sink, for example.

As for the refrigerator, it is quite possible to place it in the kitchen, either built-in or free-standing. Manufacturers produce many refrigerators for small kitchens; they can be narrow, 50 centimeters wide, or small, and these are not entirely convenient. Use a combination appliance, such as an oven and microwave in one, or an oven combined with dishwasher. If there are only a few family members, try using a domino cooktop or special gas or electrical panels, these are produced by some manufacturers, for example the company “Nardi” (Italy).

A 4-meter kitchen sink should also be quite compact; there are diameters of 45 cm or less. In general, household appliances for small kitchen A sufficient quantity is produced, if you try, you will definitely find something of your own.

Kitchen interior design and style 4 square meters.

Basically, which one to use? color scheme it's up to you, and most interior designers advise using light colors. There is also a tendency to use small kitchens in modern interior styles, for example, high-tech or minimalism. In addition, such styles are characterized by utilitarianism and simplicity of premises. Also pay attention to white and light beige and green tones; they will enrich the interior of the 4-meter kitchen and make it lighter.

4 square meters is not the most big square for kitchen. It is this territory that attracts family members with its aromas. There are a lot of household appliances and items for cooking. It would seem that it is impossible to fit kitchen equipment in such a space, but this is not so. We will tell you and help you properly arrange a small space, make it functional and comfortable.

Design Basics

We make the flooring monochromatic. Use durable materials, such as porcelain tiles. Laminate is not the best practical material. In a small room, the likelihood of it quickly wearing out increases; the coating soon becomes untidy and looks old.

Wall decoration can be done with wallpaper, but it is more practical to use waterproof paints and varnishes on water based without smell. It is permissible to use contrasting shades to separate the work area from the main one. Wallpaper should not be bright and large drawing, similar models recommended for large areas.

How to use the space correctly?

  • Determine the following points for yourself:
  • What dimensions will the household appliances be?
  • Is it permissible to replace the gas or electric stove hob?
  • Do you need an oven?
  • What small appliances do you need?
  • What dimensions will your refrigerator have? (here it is important to take into account volume, height, intimacy, etc.)

Having answered the above questions for yourself, you can begin planning.

What kind of furniture should there be and how should everything be arranged correctly?

It all depends on the shape of the kitchen. If it is square and there is a window in the center, then the working part should be located along the left wall, the width of which is 2 m. If the area is rectangular, it is more relevant to place the cooking area along long wall, we will also use the existing window opening.

The main household items are:

  • Refrigerator - it is difficult to install it in such a small space, especially a two-chamber one, but we will try to do it.
  • Gas stove - it is more rational to replace it with a hob, of course, it is more expensive, but more practical.
  • Oven.
  • Washing – choose corner models, they are convenient to practice and do not take up much space. Pay attention to the volume of the sink; it may have a small diameter, but be deep.
  • Microwave - modern model with convection it will completely replace the oven.
  • Storage system for kitchen utensils and dry food.
  • Dinner Zone.

Square kitchen

The refrigerator is the largest appliance; we recommend starting your kitchen layout with its installation. Comfortable spot for him, the corner is by the window. A two-chamber unit can be tall but narrow. The optimal width is 50 cm, with the same depth. Moving from left to right from the wall with the window, after the refrigerator, make a small work area, its length will be 60 cm. Next, install a gas stove; its dimensions should be 50x50 cm. This size of the stove is convenient for preparing several dishes and fits into such a limited area. You can clearly see examples of this design of a small kitchen in our photo gallery.

Having installed the indicated elements of your kitchen, you have about 35 cm of free space left. The sink should be mounted in a free corner, but the countertop should be extended onto the free wall; its length can reach front door to the kitchen.

ATTENTION! Order a solid countertop; it will make the food preparation area look tidier, and it will be more convenient for the housewife to work on such a surface.

Place a storage system under the countertop. Optimal width countertops 50 cm. By choosing the right household appliances, you can achieve integrity and evenness of the working area. Mounted modules are mounted above the surface. Tall modules allow you to store a large number of kitchen utensils and visually increase the height of the ceilings.

The microwave oven is hidden in the cabinet below. It is permissible to install it on a refrigeration unit if its height does not exceed 150 cm.

The dining table should be built into the kitchen unit. An excellent solution is retractable tables placed between the table top and the storage system. We put a round table in a free corner; it will fit harmoniously into small space. Chairs should be foldable so that they can be hidden if necessary.

Several finishing options:

Rectangular area

We place the refrigerator in the left corner. Moving to the right, we install a countertop with a hole for the sink and a work area, and underneath it is a storage system for kitchen utensils. There are wall cabinets on the wall; depending on your needs, it is possible to place mezzanines above them right up to the ceiling. A gas stove is installed in the right corner. The photo shows a rectangular kitchen with a window along which there is another countertop. It can be used as a work area or a dining area. It is convenient to place a storage system under it, open or closed.

The microwave oven is installed on the unit, and to the right of the entrance there was space for a small table with chairs.

This type of design is very convenient and practical.

The smaller right wall from the entrance is used here, the refrigerator is located in the corner, and the corner countertop is solid. The sink is located along the window and half replaces the window sill. Instead of a stove hob.

Note! It does not come into contact with the main unit; there is a small part of the countertop between the devices. This distance is enough to high temperatures did not harm large household appliances.

There is a built-in dishwasher under the hob. Under the entire countertop there are cabinets of different sizes and functionality for storing kitchen utensils. There is a built-in hood above the panel, and on the edges of it there are hanging modules for glassware.

The dining area on the left side, as you can see, is so limited space It is possible to fit a medium sized table. The photo does not show the microwave oven, but we recommend installing it on the refrigerator if its height allows this.

Shown here is a miniature hob with a built-in oven. A large two-chamber unit is built into the set and located in the left corner. Just like in the top version, there is a small distance between the refrigerator and the cooking equipment. The sink is mounted in the corner and despite the fact that its model is not a corner one, it fits perfectly into the space.

The work area is small, but the tabletop is extended along the right wall. Despite its small width, underneath there are cabinets in which both kitchen items and small household appliances, as well as winter clothes, can be stored. The main modules are hung to the right of the refrigeration unit and have a built-in hood.

The photo shows the hanging mezzanine modules. This interior does not have a microwave oven, but if you need one, you can hide it in wall-mounted modules or instead of an oven if it is a convection model.

Very original interior in bright colors. There is a mini-fridge with internal freezer. The microwave is installed in wall cabinet, and the sink is near the window. Instead of the usual dining table, there is a tabletop reminiscent of a bar counter with high chairs. Part of the dining area is located along the window.

Non-standard forms

It happens that the territory has non-standard forms. The image shows that the wall has a ledge, in its corner is the main food storage system, and next to it is a small module with a retractable mechanism on the side.

The recessed part accommodated the sink, a small work area and a large gas stove. Wall-mounted modules with built-in hood and lighting are installed on top.

We save space

To arrange such a small space, make a list of unnecessary things. You may have to get rid of extra dishes and unclaimed equipment. No, you don’t need to throw it away, but by putting it in the pantry, you will save a lot of space.

If you do not have a refrigeration unit, then carefully think about the dimensions that you need. If you have a small family, you only need small equipment with a built-in freezer, which can be internal.

The hob can also be from the mini collection. They have 2 burners and place them vertically, thereby increasing the work space.

You can choose an oven with a microwave function, then you will not need a microwave. If desired, this area can additionally accommodate an oversized dishwasher.

Modern sets are so well thought out that they allow you to fit dishes and a large amount of equipment. Tall wall-mounted modules are not only practical, but also aesthetically pleasing. The top shelves are convenient for storing rarely used items.

A little about tables and chairs

As we said above, it is convenient to purchase chairs of the folding type. They are presented in different variations and can be made in any design and style. The table can be anything, most importantly, small. An excellent solution for 4 sq. meters becomes a folding table mounted on the wall. It can be opened when needed and easily folded when not needed. So that the chairs do not stand idle, they can be folded and hidden in a closet.

An equally original, but more expensive solution is to purchase a construction set, the modules of which are transformable and can be used for different purposes. Below in the videos we have selected you will see such “Smart” furniture.

On 4 squares you can place a mini-corner. It consists of one soft bench and 2 stools. The table resembles a bar counter and is a one-piece structure with a table top. Such pieces of furniture are made to order, but they are convenient and practical to use.

First you need to decide what things you want to place in the kitchen. To do this, it is worth answering the following questions:

  • What sizes of different household appliances do you need? For example, refrigerator, stove.
  • Can you afford to buy a stove with two burners, rather than the usual four?
  • Is a microwave oven suitable for you instead of an oven?
  • Do you have the opportunity to place a table with chairs for eating, for example, in the living room rather than in the kitchen?
  • Is a small refrigerator enough for you to replace one of the cabinets below, or do you need a large refrigerator with a freezer for the required amount of food?

By answering these questions, you will understand what you need, as well as which full-fledged elements of household appliances you can replace with ones of the same functionality, but smaller in size.

What types of design of a small kitchen with an area of 4.5 square meters are there: styles

There are several popular styles for decoration small kitchen. So, the design of a small kitchen of 4.5 sq m, namely styles:

Styles that have appeared quite recently are also called modern. This direction implies the use of modern things in all interior elements, lamps, wallpaper, tables, chairs and much more. In general, in order to clearly understand how to properly decorate a kitchen in one of modern styles, look at the design photos of small kitchens of 4.5 sq m on the Internet, in exactly this style.

Small kitchens in the minimalist style are also very popular. The name speaks for itself. This style is very suitable for a small sized kitchen because you don't have clutter. small room various decor, some details to decorate the room, and also do not use bright, catchy colors; minimalism does not like this.

A small kitchen looks great in a classic style. If you think that this style is something outdated, boring and ugly, then you are deeply mistaken. On the contrary, classics love luxury and beauty. It is very easy to recognize by wood, gilding or silver details in any interior. In this style there is no room for any too unusual details for decorating the room.

By the way, in most cases, corner kitchens measuring 4.5 square meters look very nice. They are also more functional and easy to use.
