Fence welded mesh

Welded mesh fence

In order to protect your personal plot or a dacha area, developers often use welded mesh fencing. The popularity of this material is explained by the following positive qualities, How:

  • low cost and availability;
  • ease of installation work;
  • Beautiful appearance fence;
  • low windage of the fence in strong winds;
  • ability to pass well sunlight.

However, some owners of individually built houses consider the transparency of the fence to be a serious drawback, since everything that happens in the fenced area can be seen from the street. Therefore, welded galvanized mesh and galvanized mesh fences force us to eliminate this vulnerability.

In this case, you can reduce the transparency of the fence by stretching a masking plastic sheet over its surface. plaster mesh made of PVC, which builders often use to hide the facades of buildings when carrying out repairs and construction work. This PVC with various color shades is durable, inexpensive and reduces the level of transparency by at least half. Some owners of private housing constructions, to reduce the level of transparency, sit near the fence, which, growing, close full review plot from the street.

Types of mesh fences

According to their design, welded mesh fencing comes in two types: sectional or modular and continuous (roll). Sectional ones are frame structures made from a corner or profile pipe, inside which it is located. The frames are installed between the posts, creating a beautiful and reliable fence.

For continuous coverage, welded road mesh is most often used, which is rolled into rolls and simply stretched along the line of installation of pillars or fills the gaps between them.

Modular welded structures are very convenient for constructing fences in difficult terrain and ensure the rapid construction of fences. Solid fencing is cheaper and easier to install.

When choosing the type of fence design made from metal fence mesh, you need to take into account your requirements for operational characteristics, structural reliability and available financial capabilities. All steel mesh fencing can be classified according to the type and method of installation of the fence.

Types of mesh used for fence construction

Modern market building materials offers developers the following types:

  • simple black, resistance welded from wire with a cross-section from 1 to 6 mm;
  • welded galvanized;
  • With polymer coating different colors;
  • combined welded, with a protective zinc and polymer coating at the same time;
  • flat made of black steel rod with a diameter of 0.6 to 1.2 mm, a square or profile pipe with a section of 10x10, 12x12, 15x15 mm;
  • 3-D or euro mesh, which has a three-dimensional configuration and is made of a rod or square, like flat gratings.

Welded mesh for fence in rolls

Protective coatings are applied to already welded mesh. Galvanizing or applying polymer coatings protects the fencing material from corrosion, but significantly increases its cost. However, the ongoing cost of painting a black mesh fence makes the cost of the material skyrocketing.

protective coating is quite justified. In addition to galvanizing and applying a polymer coating, a mesh made of ordinary ferrous metal, manufactured in a factory, can simply be painted with powder or another method, which significantly reduces its cost.

Installation of a welded mesh fence

  1. Installation of a fence made of welded mesh of any type always begins with the installation of posts, for which it is best to use steel round or profile pipes.
  2. After installing the posts, a light mesh can simply be pulled between them, using two stretched wire strings running along the top and bottom of the fence as load-bearing hangers. The strings will hold the fence mesh securely enough, preventing it from sagging and bending. The mesh itself is simply tied to the posts with steel wire.
  1. Another installation method is called modular and involves preparing rectangular frames from angle steel and stretching the mesh inside such a frame.
  2. After manufacturing, the frames are installed between the pillars and secured by welding.

Flat welded steel mesh from a rod or square is manufactured in a factory or independently at the site where the fence is installed. It is a flat welded grid with cells 100x50, 150x50 or 200x50 mm. The size of such gratings should correspond to the distance between the pillars and their height. The finished mesh is secured between the posts by welding, using a steel clamp, or tied with wire.

3-D fences or euro mesh are manufactured only in the factory and resemble flat bars, but with a voluminous bend of the rods, which gives it a very original look. It can also be mounted on poles using welding, clamping clamps, or simply tied to supporting structures.

Very popular in Lately became sectional fence from mesh or welded fence"Cascade" type. Its sections are made in a procurement workshop from vertical and horizontal rods with a diameter of 3-5 mm. The design has fairly good rigidity and has cell sizes from 50x50 mm to 75x100 mm. Standard span length is 4600 mm. Polymer or powder coating is used as anti-corrosion protection. Fastening each individual panel to the posts using clamping clamps without welding.

The design of fences made of galvanized mesh or gratings allows you to erect fences of any height and install individual sections on different heights, which is very important when the fenced area is located on a slope.

How to make a fence from welded rolled mesh: preparation

Before starting construction work, it is necessary to accurately determine the choice of fence design and prepare the materials necessary for its construction. For any mesh fencing you will need:

  • pillars made of steel round or profile pipes 5/4 of the fence height;
  • cement, crushed stone and sand for preparing concrete;
  • boards or other material for formwork;
  • tie wire or fastening clamps;
  • welded steel mesh corresponding to the fence design you have chosen.

Marking

The construction of a fence begins with marking the lines for its installation. To do this, pegs are driven in at all turning points and on straight sections at a distance of no more than 5-6 meters and the cord is pulled. Using a tape measure, the places where the posts need to be installed are marked. The distance between the posts must correspond to the size of the purchased mesh panels or is taken equal to 5 meters when using rolled material.

Earth and concrete works

In the places where the pillars are installed, it is necessary to dig holes with a size of at least 400x400 mm and a depth of at least ¼ of the height of the fence. The pillars need to be installed vertically in these holes, supporting them with inclined supports for stability. When installing, using a stretched cord, you must check that the top edge of the pillars is at the same level. To better secure the supports in the foundation, transverse rods can be welded in their lower part.

After installing the pillars and checking their vertical position using a building level, the holes are filled concrete mixture in a volumetric ratio of 3 parts cement, 4 parts sand and 5 parts crushed stone. After pouring, a break of at least 48 hours is taken to allow the concrete to harden.

To give the fence more aesthetically pleasing many developers pour a concrete lintel between the pillars. This is not mandatory, but the appearance of the fence with this base is much better. For the device, you need to dig a trench 15-20 cm deep and pour a layer of medium-fraction crushed stone 10 cm thick onto its bottom. After this, install the formwork along the entire length and pour concrete inside it. It would be advisable to reinforce this structure only if installed on heaving or waterlogged soils.

How to attach welded mesh to a profile pipe

If you have a welded fence mesh in rolls, then attach its edge with wire to the first post. Unrolling the roll, gradually attach it to each subsequent post with wire. The ends of the roll must rest on the pole, so determine the distance between the tables in advance in the following way: if the roll is 15 meters long, then the distance between the poles is 3 meters.

To prevent the mesh from sagging too much, you can thread steel wire into the cells from above and stretch it between the posts. Some builders also thread the wire through the bottom to add vertical tension.

When the entire mesh is well tensioned, you can use special fasteners for welded mesh instead of wire. They are different types, one of the options is shown in the picture on the right. They are fastened with metal screws.

Fastening a welded mesh to a profile pipe with self-tapping screws without additional fasteners is not good option, since the soil moves and the mesh can jump out from under the screw.

Sectional fence made of welded mesh

Installation of a fence made from welded sections of all models, due to their structural rigidity and preliminary factory preparation, is not difficult. Therefore, if you have a helper and necessary tool, then you can install the fence yourself. Fence sections made of welded mesh are shown below in the figure.

When purchasing poles and sections of welded mesh, as a rule, they are purchased immediately (so as not to run around and look for suitable ones later) full set its fasteners:

  • clamps;
  • staples;
  • a set of hardware (bolts, nuts, washers, etc.).

Installation of sections is not difficult. It is quite possible to do it yourself.

Some dacha cooperatives do not provide for the installation of between plots or any other similar material, since such structures shade small plots. In this case, a fence made of welded galvanized mesh becomes an excellent solution. It will not prevent ultraviolet radiation from entering the area and will not make it difficult natural circulation air and can be erected by any summer resident.

Preparation

The chain-link represents inexpensive material, which is ready to last quite a long time. An additional advantage is the ability to use it as a support for climbing plants. This grid was invented at the end of the 19th century, but is still widely used today. Every consumer can purchase it.

To create a fence, in addition to the mesh, you should prepare reinforcing bars, thick wire, and cable. When choosing a grid, you should pay attention to the size of the cells. The smaller it is, the more expensive the mesh will be, but also stronger. If the mentioned parameter is equal to the limit from 40 to 50 mm, and the roll width is 1.5 m, then this material will be an excellent solution for creating a fence for a summer cottage.

Tension fence

A fence made of welded galvanized mesh can be tensioned. This method of making it is the simplest. After all, the material will have to be stretched between the pillars, which can be made of the following materials:

  • concrete;
  • wood;
  • metal.

The number of supports will depend on the pitch between them and the length of the fence itself. Best distance The parameter is 2.5 m. Pipes can be used as pillars, but they must not be damaged by corrosion. On sale today you can also find ready-made poles that have hooks and a painted surface. Before installation, it must be treated with a protective compound.

As an alternative solution, the mesh is fixed to them with a clamp or wire. The height of the pillars must be calculated. If the clearance between the ground and the fence is 5 to 10 cm, then the underground part of the support and the width of the mesh should be added to this parameter. The load on the corner pillars will be greater, so they need to be placed deeper than the others. Therefore, their length should be 20 cm greater than the length of ordinary pillars.

When making a fence from welded galvanized mesh, you must concrete the bases of the supports to increase strength. The pillars will form the frame of the structure. After installing them, you can begin fixing the mesh. As soon as the concrete hardens, hooks are fixed to the posts or welded if the post is metal. The material for fastenings should be:

  • wire;
  • nails;
  • rod;
  • screws.

You can use any other material that bends into hooks. At the same time, the roll is straightened and installed at the corner support, the mesh must be hung on the hooks.

The roll needs to be unwinded one span to reach the next post. The rod is threaded a little further than the place where the mesh will connect to the post. The master should hold the rod and tighten the mesh. If a rod is not used, the mesh may not be tensioned evenly.

It is better to carry out this work with the help of another person. He will hold the grid at the bottom edge, while the other master will hold the grid at the top. At the next stage, reinforcement is threaded into the mesh; it is necessary to retreat 5 cm along the edges. When installing a fence made of welded galvanized mesh, it is necessary to weld horizontal rods or attach them to posts.

Without using rods, over time you will encounter the fact that the mesh will sag. When the technology is followed, rods are used to maintain tension. The mesh should be pulled further according to the principle described above, fixing and pulling the rod or wire. At this point we can assume that the fence is almost ready. The hooks are bent on the posts, the last of which are painted. It is recommended to fold the wire antennae downwards to reduce the risk of injury. The wire is usually threaded through the top edge of a row of cells, and the protruding edges should be wrapped around it.

Sectional fence

To build a sectional fence, you will need sections where the mesh will be installed. At the first stage, you should use a technology that is similar to that described above. To do this, the area is marked out, and then poles are installed.

Installation of a mesh fence will involve the use of a corner whose dimensions are 40 x 5 mm. These elements will be needed to make the frame. Its length is determined taking into account the distance between the pillars; 15 cm must be subtracted from this value. The same amount should be subtracted from the height of the pillar above the soil level. This will give you the width of the frame.

The corners need to be welded into rectangular structures. The size of the sections is made taking into account the size of the mesh, which varies from 1.5 to 2 m. Galvanized welded mesh in rolls, if necessary, can be cut with an angle grinder.

Work methodology

At the next stage, metal strips are welded to the pillars. They should be placed horizontally. Their length can be from 15 to 25 cm. As for the width and cross-section, they are 5 cm and 5 mm, respectively. With a deviation of 20 cm from the edge of the post, it is necessary to install a section between the two supports. Welding is used for this. At the next stage, you can start painting the fence.

Fence cost

Quite often, summer residents and owners of territories within the city ask themselves the question of how much a galvanized mesh fence costs. If the width of the material is 1.5 m, then you will have to pay 310 rubles for such a fence. behind linear meter. Using a mesh whose width is 1.8 m, specialists charge 390 rubles for their services. per linear meter.

Pulling reinforcement will cost the consumer 40 rubles. per linear meter. You may also be interested in the question of how much a fence costs. If its length is 50 m or more, then you will have to pay 355 rubles per linear meter. This price is correct for structures in which the reinforcement is installed in one row. The mesh width is 1.5 m. This parameter will be equivalent to the height of the fence. If it increases to 1.8 m, then the cost will rise to 415 rubles. The price includes metal supports, stringing of reinforcement in one row, galvanized mesh and installation work.

Mesh cost

If you decide to do the work yourself, you can inquire about the cost of the mesh. If the diameter of the wire used is 1.2 mm and the mesh size is 10 x 10 mm, then pay for square meter the material will cost 455 rubles. The price per roll will be 6825 rubles.

Galvanized mesh, the cell size of which is 20 x 20 mm, will cost the consumer 234 rubles. per square meter. In this case, the diameter of the wire used is 1 mm. But the price per roll will be 7020 rubles. With an increase in cell size to 25 x 25 mm, the cost increases to 416 rubles. per square meter. In this case, the wire diameter is 2 mm, and the price per roll will be 12,480 rubles. Galvanized welded mesh 50x50 mm will cost the consumer 312 rubles. per square meter, while the price of the roll will be 7020 rubles, and the wire diameter will be 2.5 mm.

Conclusion

Galvanized welded mesh in rolls will become excellent material for making a fence. It is easy to cut, it is quite simple to stretch it between support posts, and in addition, it is durable. And in some cases the grid is the only the right decision, when it is necessary to fence an area, but it is necessary to provide access to sunlight.

A metal fence is installed to protect your property.
This is its main function, but a modern fence is usually installed
with an eye on the “appearance” of the house, landscape design and other details that ultimately create what is commonly called an individual style.

Therefore, it is very important, when choosing a fence for your home, to take into account such points as: the combination of the style of the fence with the style of the house, the strength of the structure, the connections of all parts of the fence, the presence of an anti-corrosion coating, etc.

High-quality 3D metal fences are one of the most durable and durable species fencing.
Therefore, it is recommended to install metal fence 3D.

The fence serves as protection and is an external manifestation of the quality of life, the calling card of the house, the style of its inhabitants. A modern and stylish fence can become a source of pride for the owner.
Fences can be very diverse, as well as their purpose: protection from gusts of wind, safety of children, not too hidden Beautiful places ownership - each of these cases requires its own individual approach.

Our company presents 3D welded fencing on the Russian market.

Sectional fencing made of 3D welded mesh Durability is not inferior to a brick or stone fence.
The fencing elements are made from high-quality steel in an industrial manner on automatic machines. Installation of panel-type fencing is much faster than the construction of any other permanent fencing.

Purpose of 3D panel welded fencing:

Advantages of 3D welded mesh fencing:

  • reliability and quality;
  • high color fastness;
  • does not require maintenance;
  • ease of installation;
  • coating guarantee - 10 years.

Durability of 3D welded fencing:

Durability and high quality production is achieved thanks to a special steel processing technology - microcrystalline phosphating. Microcrystalline phosphating is a technology recognized and used in the automotive industry. Unlike conventional amorphous type phosphating, this technology allows us to guarantee high quality products and increases the durability of products by 3-4 times.

Today, welded fencing is presented in the most popular
on Russian market color: moss green (RAL 6005).
All profiled products are covered by a company guarantee.

Welded 3D fencing means reliability, quality and ease of installation.

The fence has two main purposes: to form the boundaries of the site and to create a barrier against the entry of unwanted guests. The appearance of the building comes in third place. But today, more and more often, this criterion is moving into fourth place, replaced by the cost of the fencing structure. Therefore, more and more often, owners of suburban areas give preference to fences made of mesh. They have high reliability, but low price.

Mesh fence

It is necessary to divide the mesh into two groups, differing from each other in the source material. These are metal mesh and plastic. The latter are rarely used for fencing areas because they do not have sufficient strength. They are used for fencing flower beds, garden plantings and other structures.

In this regard, metal fencing structures made of mesh are used everywhere. Because they have high technical and performance characteristics. Today, two types of mesh are used for fencing: chain-link and welded.

They differ from each other in manufacturing technology. The first is made by weaving with the formation of cells, the second by spot welding, in which metal rods are connected.

It cannot be said that welded mesh is better than chain-link. Both have fairly high strength characteristics and almost identical advantages and disadvantages.

Advantages and disadvantages of welded mesh

The main advantage of fences made of welded mesh is low price with high technical specifications. Next we note:

  • the ability to dismantle the mesh and use it in another place for the construction of fences or other needs;
  • ease of installation;
  • a huge variety of sizes offered, which makes it possible to build fences of different heights;
  • easily tolerates natural stress;
  • transparency of the structure, allowing air and sunlight to pass through, which is an important factor for some areas.

Regarding the shortcomings, many regard the last plus as a minus. Not everyone likes having their personal life wide open. And the transparent design contributes to this. The second negative is that the appearance is not entirely presentable when compared with other fencing structures, for example, brick, stone or wood.

Not the most presentable appearance

Varieties

The classification of welded mesh is based on raw material. There are three categories:

  1. Made from carbon steel without protective coatings. It is welded from metal rods with a diameter of 1.2-10 mm. Such products are susceptible to metal corrosion, so they become rusty over time. This type of metal mesh must be painted to reduce wear. Painting is carried out with enviable frequency, which increases the cost of maintaining the enclosing structure.
  2. Galvanized. It is welded from galvanized wire, which practically does not rust under the influence of natural loads. It has a fairly long service life; there is no need to paint such a product. Still, it's not the best material.
  3. Not galvanized with polymer coating. In fact, this is the first option that is coated with a polymer layer. The finished mesh is simply dipped into the polymer mass and then dried. To give the product a more presentable appearance, it is coated with paint according to powder technology. This further increases the protective qualities.
  4. Galvanized with a polymer layer. This is the pinnacle of metal mesh quality, but also the pinnacle of price. Welded mesh of this type can be classified as materials in the category with an unlimited service life, although manufacturers guarantee 65 years. At the same time, this type of material can easily withstand temperatures ranging from -55C to +65C and humidity not exceeding 97%.

Note that welded meshes are processed with zinc using two technologies. The first is the production of a mesh product from galvanized wire, the second is from carbon steel, and the finished mesh is galvanized. Last option better, because in the first technology, welding heats the zinc layer of the two rods, which reduces the protective characteristics of the material. Often the zinc layer simply peels off from the base metal body.

On construction market Welded mesh is presented in two positions: rolled and in the form of layers. The second option is easier to install because it is already ready product with its own dimensions, under which you simply need to install support posts in increments equal to the width of the layer.

Fence installation

Let's consider three installation options: in layers or, as they are called, sectional structures and in rolls.

Option #1

First of all, you need to prepare all the required materials. Namely: welded mesh, the layers of which are selected to match the height of the future fencing structure, and support pillars, preferably from a profile pipe with a cross-section of 50x50 mm and a wall thickness of 2 mm. The pipes must be closed with metal square plugs on both sides (they are welded using electric welding) and painted with powder paint to match the color of the entire enclosing structure. Today, plastic plugs are sold in different sizes, shapes and colors.

The next stage is planning the boundaries of the site. To do this, pipes or fittings (used can be used) are clogged in the corners of the site and tied with twine. The installation step of the support posts must be determined during the fence design process; it is on the basis of this indicator that the layers, or more precisely, their width, are selected. The standard step is 2m.

It is necessary to drill holes half a meter deep under the racks

The installation locations of the supports are determined, in which holes 0.5 m deep are immediately drilled. For this, a drill with a diameter of 200 mm is used. Prepared profile pipes are inserted into the holes and driven with a sledgehammer to a depth of 1 m. It turns out that half a meter of pipe will be driven into the ground, half a meter will be concreted.

Pillars are driven in with a sledgehammer

Each pillar is aligned vertically using a building level and concreted with a solution of the classic recipe: 1 part cement, 2 parts sand, 3 parts crushed stone. All supports must be set to the same height.

Now we need to install the mesh layers. To attach them to poles, special U-shaped clamps are used, connected to reverse side mounting plate, which is supported by two nuts. Number of clamps – 4 per post. In this case, the grid must be strictly adjusted in height, taking into account the installation of each layer.

Fastening mesh layers with U-shaped clamps

There is another option for fastening work, which consists of a long bolt and a special shaped washer. To do this, the racks at the places where the layers are attached are drilled through to the diameter of the mounting bolt used. The layers are installed, bolts with washers are inserted into the holes, which are tightened with nuts on the reverse side. It is recommended to place a rubber or plastic gasket under the washer.

Fastening the mesh with a bolt and a shaped nut

And another type of fastening is a special clamp that works for tightening. It is selected according to the size of the profile pipe used for the support posts. They clamp both the pipe and the mesh laid on it with a clamp. Tightening is done using bolted connection. The photo below shows such a clamp.

Clamp for attaching welded mesh to support posts

We invite you to watch a video on how to properly install a welded mesh fence.

Attention! You don't have to drive the pillars into the ground. They are simply installed in a prepared hole 70-80 cm deep and filled with concrete. The main thing in this process is to install supports under the posts so that they dry concrete mortar supported the supports in a vertical position.

Option No. 2

The installation sequence for this type of fence is different. And the mounting method is different here.

You will need stand pipes in which holes are made every 40-50 cm into which special rivets are driven. The latter have internal thread for fastening. The rivets are driven into the holes with tension so that they do not rotate at the installation site.

Now the two posts are laid on the ground parallel to each other. A welded mesh is laid on them, which is secured to the pipes with a bolt and a special washer.

Fastening to racks with special fasteners

The result is a finished section, which is installed in prepared pits and concreted as separate element barrier structure.

Option #3

Let's look at how roll-type mesh material is attached.

  1. The edge of the product is tied to the first post with knitting wire.
  2. The roll unwinds to the second rack.
  3. Stretch to the maximum.
  4. It is tied to the stand with wire in several places.

And so on until the end of the fence. To prevent the mesh from sagging, you can pass thick wire or steel rods along the upper and lower edges. This is how work is done to install a mesh made of thin steel rods. The structure with greater strength is attached to the racks in other ways.

If the mesh is welded from rods that are not the same large diameter, then you can try to attach the finished product to the pillars with metal roofing screws. Not the best good option, because the screw head is small in diameter, so a tight fit to the surface of the profile pipe is not guaranteed. There is a high probability that the mesh will jump out from under the fasteners due to wind pressure or soil displacement. You can try placing a wide washer under the self-tapping screw, but this will not work either. The best decision. Although both methods are often used when installing meshes made from small-section wire.

Fastening to metal risers with roofing screws

Optimally - make a puck rectangular shape, into which two self-tapping screws will be screwed at once. The mesh rod located on the post will remain between the two fasteners, and this will prevent it from moving along the post. And the washer will keep it from moving in the horizontal plane.

Roofing screw for fastening welded structures

You can use roofing screws with profile washers, as in the photo above. They simply attract the mesh to the rack, so the washer must be selected to match the dimensions of the profile pipe so that the latter ends up inside the washer.

The technology for assembling the fence is almost the same in all the situations described above. But there are many ways to attach a mesh product to racks. Therefore, you choose the one that is easier in the process of doing the work yourself.

Welded mesh fencing structure

A fence assembled using a 3D welded mesh structure

Welded mesh for a fence is one of the types of material for fencing a plot of land. Its external characteristics are simple, but its design is more durable than a chain-link. In addition, you can do the installation yourself, since the material is quite liftable.

What types of mesh are there?

Welded mesh fencing can have different sizes cells, wires and general dimensions of the section. There are several types of wire, and the method of making the mesh also varies.

Main settings

The strength of the fabric is determined by two characteristics: the dimensions of the cage and the diameter of the wire. How smaller cell mesh material, the stronger the fence will be. But material with such parameters costs more. Standard cage: 50x50 mm, 100x100 mm (the most common), as well as 150x150 mm, 200x200 mm. Metal mesh can be light or heavy, which is determined by the thickness of the wire.

In the first case, the diameter varies between 3-6 mm. Heavy fencing is erected using mesh material with a wire thickness of 8 to 40 mm. Section dimensions ( standard sizes): 1000x2000 mm, 1500x3000 mm, 2000x3000 mm.

Types of mesh

There are several types of mesh material made by contact welding:

  • Non-galvanized - without coating, made using black steel wire;
  • Galvanized - during production, wire without special protection or galvanized material is used, respectively, in the first case, the anti-corrosion coating is applied after the fabric is manufactured;
  • Polymer meshfinished design coated with polymers; both galvanized and non-galvanized wire can be used as a base.

Scope of application of these varieties: strengthening road surface and other structures, wall decoration, construction of fences. Polymer mesh has proven itself well in domestic conditions - it is used to build fences.

Galvanized material with a polymer coating has the best characteristics: a sectional fence will last longer thanks to double protection against corrosion, and it is more attractive in appearance.

Positive qualities of welded mesh fencing

It is necessary to highlight the light transmittance of the structure. This feature allows you to set up a garden or vegetable garden next to the fence, since the mesh eliminates the possibility of shading the area. Installing a fence with your own hands is faster and easier than most other analogues (from decorative brick, natural stone). And the cost of the fence is lower.

The main stages of building a fence

A fence made of welded mesh is built using the following materials: sections of fence cloth; metal pillars with embedded parts, but you can secure them with your own hands using welding machine; concrete solution.

Scheme of sectional fencing made of welded mesh

Main tools: welding machine, screwdriver (if the sections will be attached to the poles using threaded connection), roulette, building level, shovel/ hand drill.

Step 1: Marking work

A fence made of welded mesh, as well as any other fencing, requires preparatory work: cleaning the area, checking differences in soil surface levels, marking.

The construction of the fence begins with markings. For creating desired line pegs, rope and tape measure are used.

First of all, you should outline the location of the fence. To do this, drive stakes into the corners with your own hands, and string a rope between them. Next, you need to determine the location of the fence posts. They are placed at a distance that is 15-20 cm greater than the length of the section. The reserve is allocated for the embedded parts with which the fence is attached.

Step 2: Installation of support posts

A fence made of welded mesh is usually erected using metal posts. They are strong enough to support the structure of a section made of frame and mesh. In addition, in most cases, the fence is fastened by welding. Another nuance: a metal fence lasts much longer. And if the wooden posts fail, you will have to repair the fence ahead of time.

For cooking cement mortar One part cement, one part water and three parts sand are used.

A sufficient cross-section of pillars for a sheet of wire 3-5 mm thick is 60x60 mm. The depth of the holes for the support posts is determined based on data on the structure of the soil and the depth of its freezing. On average, for a mesh fence it is arranged columnar foundation 0.8-1 m deep.

It is important that the support is recessed to a level equal to a third of its length. The holes are dug with a shovel, but you can use a hand drill. This will speed up the work. The diameter of the holes in the soil should be several centimeters larger than the posts.

Welded mesh fences are most often installed by completely concreting the supports. This will further strengthen the structure. To make the solution, sand and cement (3:1) are used. Then the hole is filled with your own hands cement mixture, a pole is installed there and leveled. Spacers are used to secure the support. After a few days, you can continue building the fence.

Step 3: Fastening the fence cloth

The use of rolled mesh requires the use of special clamps or staples. IN in this case a continuous fence sheet is attached. If you plan to use a more durable mesh, prepare a frame made from a corner or profile pipe.

Each pole is installed fasteners 4 pieces each, with which the mesh is attached.

The base material is welded to it with your own hands. The finished section is attached to the embedded parts using a welding machine or using a threaded connection method (bolts, nuts).

The use of galvanized mesh does not require coating paint and varnish materials. But if the section is made by hand, during welding protective covering can be damaged. Then it is necessary to ensure additional protection paint and varnish materials.

The use of welded rolled mesh involves two solutions: cutting the material yourself to make sections; installation of a fence sheet using clamps, no need to cut it.

If galvanized mesh is used for the second option, the installation process will take less time, since there is no need to prepare sections. But in this case, the fence will lose strength.

But the thicker the wire used in the production of the material, the stronger the structure will be. The cell sizes of the rolled mesh are also responsible for this quality.
