In order for all work on installing the platband to be completed quickly and correctly, it is necessary to prepare the following tools:

• miter box;
• electric jigsaw or wood saw;
• a hammer;
• pencil;
• nails or glue;
• roulette;
• construction corner.

Mounting process

It is necessary to start work from the side of the door into which the opening is being carried out. In other words, this is the side of the concentration of door hinges. The bar will act as a guideline for changes. It closes the door frame from the side where the hinges are. It is because of them that it is impossible to install the casing flush with the box. The indent must be equal in relation to all three lines.

Further work is as follows:

1. It is extremely accurate to measure the length of the vertical bar, the installation of which will be carried out near the hinges. The distance that turned out during the indentation, add to the length. The resulting point will be the beginning of the line, according to which excess will be removed from the workpiece at an inclination of 45 degrees.
2. To get the opposite casing, perform similar measurements. But do them separately. It's just that the distance from the floor to the required point is not always equal.
3. Sawn planks must be nailed. Some are fastened at the base, and some - after 1 m.
4. Since the upper ends of the vertical architraves are not fixed, then place a blank for the upper bar under them. Mark points on it, focusing on which it will be possible to perform sawing at an angle of 45 degrees. For cutting it is worth using a saw. It can be cross-cut or mechanical.
5. Attach all three components.
6. It is necessary to determine the installation step of the nails yourself. It is preferable to drive in fasteners at a distance of 15 cm. This distance will be enough if there are lovers in the family who actively slam doors. If the operation is carried out carefully, then a step of 50 cm will be optimal.
7. If the sawing angle is not observed, then gaps will be formed in the joining areas. If it was not possible to avoid this defect, then do not be upset. You can seal it with a sealant. For these purposes, glue mounting tape on the cashiers on both sides of the slot. It is best to do this in several layers. After that, you can fill the formed gap with an acrylic sealant that matches the color.
