No one will argue with the fact that the differences between men and women are obvious. Differences are not only in appearance, behavior, but also neural connections! The most interesting differences between men and women more...

1. Brain

Danish scientist Bert Pakkenberg found that there are four million more cells in the male brain, but women perform 3% better than men in tests. It turns out that the reason for this is the so-called corpus callosum, which serves as a kind of “cable” between the right and left hemispheres of the brain. In women, this body is thicker than in men, and there are 30% more compounds in it.

The brain of men is specialized and divided into certain departments. Due to fewer connections between the hemispheres, a man can only do one thing qualitatively, fully concentrating on it. Recall: he is a warrior and a hunter. He pursues game or fights. A woman at home can do many things, such as cooking, looking after children, caring for relatives and knitting.

If a man reads, he hears almost nothing. And if you talk to him while he is shaving, the chances of him cutting himself increase dramatically. Even men and women sleep differently: in men, the electrical activity of the brain in a dream will drop by 70% (he is a hunter, and when he comes home, he must have a good rest), and in women - only by 10%, because she always “guards » house and children.

2. Speech

Men in the left hemisphere have a center responsible for speech, and if a man gets injured in this hemisphere, he loses his speech and stops “seeing” the drawings in three-dimensional space. In women, two centers are responsible for speech: a larger one in the left hemisphere, a smaller one in the right. To become numb, she needs to get a serious injury to both hemispheres of the brain. An injured left hemisphere won't stop the average woman from reading blueprints. True, they see them differently: flat.

Men's speech is distinguished by an abundance of terms and a rich vocabulary, while women's speech is based on intonation and emotions. Establishing relationships by conversation is a purely female prerogative, which is why they make excellent lawyers, teachers and educators. A woman can easily pronounce up to 8,000 words a day, use up to 3,000 sounds and up to 10,000 non-verbal signals. A man speaks up to 4000 words a day, makes up to 2000 sounds and makes up to 3000 gestures.

3. Orientation in space

The weak side of most women is orientation in space. Tests by Asian scientists using labyrinths have shown that men have 92% of successful solutions, and women have only 8%! 82% of men can park a car parallel and close to the sidewalk, including 71% on the first try. For women, the result is deplorable. Only 22% can do it, and even then two-thirds of them will not do it on the first try.

Serious problems in women and with geographical maps. In 1998, for the sake of experiment, the British released a map of England with two sheets. One had a standard map, the other had an inverted image. The card was bought by 15,000 women who liked not having to turn the card over in their mind when traveling south. By the way, there are women who are missing one of the X chromosomes. They are generally not able to drive a car, because they have problems with spatial orientation.

4. Vision

On the retina of the human eye are almost seven million receptors, "cones", which are responsible for the perception of color. The X chromosome is responsible for their action. Women have two of them, and the palette of colors that they perceive is wider.

In conversation, they operate with shades: “aquamarine”, “sand”, “light coffee”. Men talk about fundamental colors: red, white, blue. True, this does not explain why there are so few women who are brilliant artists. Women have developed peripheral vision. For some of them, it reaches 180º, and that is why women rarely miss side impacts when driving a car and can, without turning their heads, “count” an opponent or follow a child.

The brain of a man provides tunnel vision, he "leads" the target, sees only what is in front of him, and is not distracted by trifles. It is because of the narrow field of view that men often become victims of accidents, and at home they cannot find oil in the refrigerator. But they see better at night and more accurately determine the distance to objects.

5. Hearing

Women are better at distinguishing high-pitched sounds. A week-old girl can already distinguish the sound of her mother's voice and hear when another baby cries. Boys don't need that. Women are better than men at recognizing changes in tone and therefore know perfectly well when men are lying. Men, on the other hand, specialize in the sounds of wildlife (this skill is not so necessary in the city) and perfectly “hear” the direction. If a woman hears a kitten's meow first, then it is the man who will indicate where to look for him.

6. Taste and smell

Men feel better bitter and salty. It is with this that they are associated with the fact that they love beer. Women, as fruit pickers, are more sensitive to sweets. This explains the fact that most chocolate lovers are women.

In terms of smell, women have no equal. A woman's nose can catch not only the smell of burning that threatens the house, but also the smell of pheromones, which cannot be done consciously. Moreover, a woman’s brain is able to “read” the smell of a man and decipher it, determining how strong his immunity is. Scientists believe that in most cases a woman needs no more than three seconds for this.

If the woman's own immune system is weaker, she will find the man sexually attractive.

7. Touch

A woman's skin is 10 times more sensitive than a man's skin. Studies by British scientists have shown that even the most sensitive man in this sense falls short of the most insensitive woman. But men's skin is thicker than women's and therefore men have fewer wrinkles. On the back of an adult male, the skin is four times thicker than on the abdomen. And if a man is busy with business, then the sensitivity of the skin drops even more, and he almost does not feel pain.

Recently, two contradictory processes have been marked: the development of scientific research in the field of gender differences and the promotion of the politically correct assertion that there are no such differences at all. We are aware of cases where scientists were either denied funding for their work if they worked in this area, or they themselves stopped it due to “political pressure”. And those who still continue to work note the almost complete disregard for the results of their research, which contradict the dominant idea of universal and absolute equality and the sameness of people. The first experiments were carried out back in the 19th century. The lack of a technical and theoretical basis allowed only very general conclusions to be drawn, for example, that men have greater muscular strength and are less susceptible to stimuli during work than women. In turn, women showed themselves to be less sensitive to pain and possess more subtle hearing. But it wasn't until the 1960s that scientists began to study differences in brain structure and organization between men and women. Paradoxically, in time this correlated with the most aggressive denial of even the thought of such differences by politicians. It is also paradoxical that interest in the topic of sex differences in the human brain grew out of scientists' attempt to prove that there are none at all.
IQ tests, being devoid of bias and prejudice, were supposed to show how equal and equal we all are. Therefore, the first test results, showing the constant superiority of one sex over the other in various areas, were considered as the failure of the methodology. In the 1950s, Dr. Wesler, the American scientist who developed the IQ test most widely used today, found that more than thirty tests developed "favored" either men or women.
Wesler and his colleagues set out to solve this problem by cutting out all those tests whose results clearly showed the superiority of one sex over the other, and when they still failed to make a "neutral" test, they deliberately added questions that were preferred by men or preferred by women. in order to obtain approximately the same results for both sexes.
However, the differences between men and women in the ability to solve certain problems stubbornly manifested themselves again and again, so that even Wesler himself eventually wrote: “Our research confirms what poets and writers often notice, and what the townsfolk believe, namely, that men not only behave, but also think differently than women do.” Then it was the turn of the sociologists.
They actively came up with the theory that children are born "neutral" in their gender, and then parents, teachers, bosses, politicians and all the other "evil wizards" of our society "mould" an innocent children's brain at their discretion. As sociologists think, society is to blame for everything. But is this really so? According to the established opinion of people who are far from science, as well as according to the results of research, the difference between the sexes is most clearly manifested in the ability to navigate in space. The ability to represent things, their shape, position, relationship to cardinal points and proportions. The fact of the superiority of men in this area has been proven by hundreds of different scientific studies. From school, boys generally outperform girls in areas of mathematics based on abstract concepts of space, relationships, and theorists. American psychologist Dr. Camilla Benbow has done perhaps the most extensive and lengthy research on the nation's most gifted young mathematicians.

Now I want to tell you what is the difference between a man and a woman in the psychology of perceiving the world and building a behavior strategy. Most of those who come to me for counseling about family life and relationship problems do not fully understand this difference. And, as practice shows, the root of problems in relationships lies precisely in a lack of understanding of the background of the behavior of the opposite sex. The psychology of men and women is different, this is dictated by nature, and this must be taken for granted. Husband and wife can have common interests only in the most general terms, and in everything that concerns details, they will want different things and act differently. I am not going to write a huge treatise on this subject, but I want to dwell only on the most important thing, which is necessary to prevent the most common conflicts.

The first difference: quantity and quality

It's true what they say - men want the same thing from all women, and women want everything from the same man. Physiologically, a woman can have only a few children, while the number of children of a man can be huge, and this is the fundamental difference. Of course, both men and women will strive to reach their potential to the maximum. A woman will try to take possession of a man completely, completely lock him in on herself and her family. A man will always look around and look for new objects for his sexual expansion.

Does any of the two lines of behavior seem wrong to you? If yes, then your relationship with the opposite sex is less pleasant than it could be. Both lines of conduct follow from the natural requirements of nature, which must be well understood and must be reckoned with. And in practice, work out a compromise. Because unconditionally following your sexual preferences means destroying relationships, and not following them at all means undermining your mental health.

Difference Two: Comfort and Expansion

The man is a conqueror. He needs not only to preserve what he has, but also to expand the boundaries of his existence. He will definitely compete with other men, and this rivalry will periodically develop into a war. He will discover new territories and new laws of nature. Researchers, scientists - mostly men. Not because women are dumber, but because the exploration and conquest of the new is a male need and a property of a male character. A real woman will always appreciate the strength of a man and the potential of his ability to expand. A stupid woman does not understand the difference between herself and her husband, she will "nag" a man for his deeds, which she contemptuously calls childish games. It seems very "adult" to her to harness herself to the webbing of a routine, walk every day along the same route to the same tedious job and invariably return to the family every evening with a portion of money. And she is very surprised when she is thrown ...

The woman is the guardian of the hearth. She is little interested in discoveries and war; for her, comfort in those places that have already been conquered by her men is much more important. The house should be neat and tidy, the clothes should be beautiful, and the food should be tasty. And, of course, children. Washed faces and clean diapers are much more important for a woman than a well-tuned car engine. There is a deep meaning in this difference - there are no matters more or less important in general, there are matters more or less important for each gender. A stupid man will make fun of his wife's "chicken brains", not realizing that they are not chicken, but tuned to solve other problems. No less, but no more important than his own. A smart man will understand the difference and go about his own business, leaving the feminine to the woman, not competing with her in women's affairs and not trying to draw her into his own.

* * *

Psychologically, men and women are built differently in many ways, understanding and accepting this difference is the key to harmony in relationships with the opposite sex. Naturally, the topic of gender differences is not limited to the two features described above, but for a start it will be enough to think at least about them.

Everything has changed in the modern world. Under the influence of fashion, advertising and many other social factors, the fine line between opposites is blurred: girls are becoming more and more like boys, and boys are becoming more like girls. But you can’t argue against nature, and human physiology still remains unchanged, regardless of what is happening in the outside world. There are fundamental differences between the female and male body, which are the reason that we are so different.

Interesting differences between men and women

Even schoolchildren know that a boy or a girl will be born into the world depending on the number of Xs in the chromosomal set of the fetus.

Although the principle of the human body is the same, at the level of physiology, men and women are fundamentally different.

What are the differences between men and women found by scientists:

1. Women can do several things at the same time, men can only do one.

Scientists have found an amazing fact: in the brain of a man there are four million more cells than in the brain of a woman. At the same time, according to the results of various tests of the brain, women showed a few percent better results. As it turns out, the secret of the brain lies in the connection between the right and left hemispheres. In women, this joint, called the corpus callosum, is much thicker and stronger than in men. It is this fact that is the reason why a woman can do several things at the same time, and do it well, while a man should concentrate only on one thing. For example, while cooking, a woman can communicate with a friend on the phone and follow the child out of the corner of her eye. If you start a conversation with a man, for example, when he shaves, most likely, after a minute of talking, a cut will appear on his cheek.

2. Women love to talk, and men like to do silently.

It's no secret that women love to chat. And this is one of the biggest differences between a man and a woman. The secret of male conciseness and female talkativeness is very simple: in men, one center in the left hemisphere of the brain is responsible for speech, and in a woman - as many as two, in different hemispheres. A man can completely lose his speech as a result of an injury, while it is almost impossible to silence a woman. During the day, women pronounce about 8,000 thousand words, 3,000 sounds and demonstrate at least 10,000 gestures. Men, on the other hand, reproduce half as many words and sounds, and their gestures are limited to only a few thousand gestures per day. That is why women prefer to talk, and men - to do.

3. Men easily navigate in space, while women have problems with this.

Features of the structure of the brain determine the female inability to navigate well in space. As Asian scientists have found, more than 90% of men successfully pass tests using mazes, while only 8% of women are able to cope with such a task. Women have problems with geography for the same reason: compasses, geographical maps and similar "tourist things" are definitely not a woman's business. And even driving has its own nuances. Of course, female driving is very common today, but studies show that only 20% of women are able to successfully park close to the sidewalk, while more than 70% of men are able to successfully do it on the first try.

4. Women see crimson, ruby and carrot color, and for men it's red

And this is indeed true. Women are able to distinguish a much greater number of colors than men, and the secret lies in their chromosomes. The X chromosome is responsible for the action of cone receptors, the function of which is the perception of color. A woman has two such chromosomes, which is why the palette of colors that they distinguish is much wider. In addition, women have a wider field of view - about 180°. The man's vision is tunnel, he looks clearly straight ahead, like a hunter at his prey, and does not notice the little things around him. This may explain the fact that men constantly ask the question “where are my socks?” unless they are right in front of their eyes, and also become victims of traffic accidents much more often.

5. Women's skin is much more sensitive than men's.

In quarrels with a loved one, in a fit of emotions, women often throw out the phrase “you are so thick-skinned, you don’t feel anything at all,” without even realizing how right they are. The skin of men is literally much thicker than women's, which is why the fair sex has wrinkles much earlier and in much larger quantities. The sensitivity of female skin is 10 times higher, which is why women are so sensitive to touching their bodies. The low sensitivity of the skin to men is given for a reason, because by its nature, a man must get food and protect his family. Studies show that if a man is very passionate about something, he is practically incapable of feeling pain.

6. A woman can tell when a man is lying by his voice.

The whole secret lies in the fact that women are much better able to distinguish high-frequency sounds. By listening to the change in tone of a speaking man, a woman can almost always recognize when he is lying. Newborn girls are able to distinguish their mother's voice among many others already a week after birth, while boys are not capable of this. The specialization of male hearing is somewhat different: a male hunter understands well where the sound comes from. If a couple walking down the street stumbles upon a meowing kitten, the woman will be the first to hear it, and the man will quickly indicate where to look for it.

7. Men love beer and women love chocolate.

Between a man and a woman there are amazing differences even at the level of perception of smells and tastes. Scientists have proven that men are better at feeling bitter and salty tastes, which is why they love beer with fish so much. The female body, in turn, perceives sweets better, so sweets and chocolates are a great way to please a girl. The sense of smell of women is also significantly different from that of men. Women are able to capture a huge amount of odors that are practically inaccessible to men. Studies show that a woman’s nose is even able to “read” the smell of a man, passing it to the brain for “decoding” and finding out how healthy and strong this male’s body is, while it takes no more than three seconds for a woman to do everything about everything.

There are many amazing differences between a man and a woman, but they are what make us so attractive to each other.

As studies show, no matter how much scientists try to understand the human body, there are still many mysteries and secrets in it that humanity has yet to discover for itself.
